Nowadays, the need for general development in the education of students is increasing. Implementation of social sciences to the curriculum of technical universities is a way to fulfil this concept. The paper focuses on the evaluation of the benefits of social sciences courses for students. The theoretical basis justifies the need for implementation of general subjects at a technical university in order to equip the graduates with professional and general key competencies for further professional and personal development. The paper attempts to find a connection between the quality of teaching and the benefits for students. A case study is based on the characteristics of teaching quality. It designs, develops and evaluates the criteria for assessing the quality of teaching in connection with the benefits of the courses. It provides a list of the most important criteria that influence the perception of social sciences benefits, e.g. motivation, relevance to the future work, contribution to the personal development, cultivation of intellectual skills, the relevance for technicians and others. The paper attempts to describe a mutual relationship between the criteria. The research revealed that the students appreciate the courses in which they feel a closer connection to the professional specialisation. Social sciences courses in a curriculum of a technical university represent an integral part of the humanisation of technical environment and they contribute to the cultivation of students.

Peer review of teaching has become an accepted educational procedure in Australia to quality assure the quality of teaching practices. The institutional implementation of the peer review process can be viewed as genuine desire to improve teaching quality or an imposition from above as a measure of accountability and performativity. One approach is to conduct the peer review process as a team or a triad, involving a group of three academics. This article reviews this process of peer review through the eyes of the participants. The results of the study indicate that the peer review process upon which this study is based, has the potential to not only significantly impact academics’ pedagogy but to improve teaching confidence and associated benefits in regard to evidence based teaching for promotional opportunities.

Por último se tratan aspectos relacionados con la salud laboral y las enfermedades profesionales.ABSTRACT: This article proposes to rethink some of the key issues of the recent debate about the teaching profession, through the analysis of three specific aspects: What is a profession? The low performance of The Trends of Mathematics and Science Study (TIMSS) results were investigated in depth through interviews with math and science supervisors from the Ministry of Education in Kuwait. A qualitative approach was employed to consider the factors that may affect TIMSS results in the past and understand the reasons of TIMSS results. The outcome of this study was limited to the perspectives of science and math supervisors who participated or worked in the TIMSS study. Their participation in TIMSS was positive even if the results of the study were not because it helped initiate reform in curriculum, assessment, and quality of teaching. However, the participants expressed concerns and variables that need to be aware of in order to perform better not only in TIMSS but also in science and math education in general.

Lesson planning, the starting point and basis for teaching, is one of the most important steps to determine the quality of teaching. At present, lesson planning and teaching are separated; also professional teachers are rare in many areas. By collaborative lesson planning based on cloud platform, teaching and research is not limited in the office or their own school. Teachers can carry out lesson planning or teaching counseling at home. Currently collaborative lesson planning based on cloud platform is very popular. It not only extends the teachers' working space and time, but also expands their horizons and improves the teaching quality.
