The aim of this study is to investigate whether there is a positive or negative relationship between the quality of life of the students and their physical activity levels (PAL). A total of 469 students participated in the study (female = 209, male = 260). The physical activity levels of the participants were determined as "International Physical Activity Questionnaire Short Form (IPAQ-SF)" and their quality of life was determined by the World Health Organization (WHOQOL-BREF). In the statistical analysis, parametric tests were used because of the normal and homogeneous distribution of the data. The difference between PAL and quality of life scores was evaluated by MANOVA test. The relationship between PAL and quality of life of the participants was tested by Pearson Correlation test. The overall health status of the participants was 87% (n = 408) good-very good and the level of physical activity was 88.1% (n = 413) moderate-high active. There was no statistically significant difference between the PAL and quality of life scores of the participants. After Pearson Correlation test, there was no correlation between PAL and quality of life at r2 at p

Aims: This investigation explored the immediate effects of an altered auditory feedback device on motor behaviors associated with stuttering in monologue and conversation with and without the device and it also investigated the effects of an AAF device on stuttering frequency. Methods: Fifteen adults with a diagnosis of stuttering and exhibited associated motor behaviors participated in this study. The author analyzed associated motor behaviors by type and frequency and statistically compared associated motor behaviors per frequency of stuttering events during monologue and conversation with and without an altered auditory feedback device. Results: An analysis of associated motor behaviors during monologue and conversation with and without altered auditory feedback showed a predominance of associated motor behaviors involving the eyes, head, lips and hands. Altered auditory feedback significantly reduced the overall frequency of these four behaviors in monologue and conversation. Altered auditory feedback also decreased the frequency of associated motor behaviors per stuttering event in both monologue and conversation. An analysis of effect sizes associated with the statistical results revealed a larger magnitude of effect on reducing the frequency of associated motor behaviors than on reducing associated motor behaviors per stuttering event in the altered auditory feedback condition. Additionally, the Pearson correlation test designated the following positive correlations between the percentage of syllables stuttered and AMBs (r=.76 and r=.74) and percentage of syllables stuttered and AMBs per stuttering event (r=.56 and r=.41 in monologue and conversation respectively). Conclusions: People who exhibit motor behaviors associated with their stuttering may more confidently and frequently use an altered auditory feedback device to decrease the associated motor behaviors of their stuttering in order to more easily communicate and socialize and consequently improve the quality of their life.

It was researched on the application of Anoda Heel Effect (AHE) with a step wedge on the effect of Signal To Noise Ratio (SNR) on Computed Radiography (CR) has been carried out. This research was conducted on a 21 step wedge with two treatments, namely the application of AHE and without the application of AHE. This measurement is repeated three times on radiographs to obtain a total image of six images (without the application of AHE as many as three images and with the application of AHE as many as three images). The results of taking radiographs using AHE and without AHE were measured using the RadiAnt Dicom Viewer program. The SNR value on the step wedge image without the AHE application has an average of 26.89. The SNR value on the step wedge image using AHE is 60.54. The results of the correlation test (Pearson correlation test) on the SNR showed that there was a significant and very strong effect of the application of AHE on the step wedge on the SNR in CR (p-value <0.001 and the R-value ranging from 0.600 to 0.799).

The general objective of this work is to identify a set of electronic governance practices for the executive power of the Brazilian States and Federal District, to measure and relate them to the economic and social development of the respective States and Federal District. In order to achieve this objective, the authors first used bibliographic research to build the theoretical platform about electronic governance and controllership in public management and the identification of electronic governance practices; next, a measurement and monitoring index of the development of electronic governance – 2013 is proposed. The Pearson correlation test was performed in order to verify the correlation between electronic governance and economic and social development indexes – GDP AND GDP per capita – and HDI and Gini, respectively. Lastly, the 2009 electronic governance index was used for comparison purposes. By comparing the results of the correlation and the percentage of the implemented practices, it was then concluded that the States with the highest GDP, the highest HDI and the lowest Gini are those which have the highest number of implemented electronic governance practices.

Abstract: Patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) are characterized by an acceleration of thrombopoiesis, an increase of platelet turnover, and a decrease of platelet survival time. These conditions affect the platelet count that manifest as an increase of the proportion of large and reactive platelets which are more thrombogenic. This study aimed to obtain the correlation between the platelet count and the platelet aggregation value in T2DM patients. This was an observational analytical study using the Pearson correlation test. Subjects were 30 T2DM outpatients at Endocrine-Metablolic Clinic of Prof. Dr. R.D. Kandou Hospital Manado. Blood samples of all patients were examined for platelet count and platelet aggregation value. The results showed that most of the subjects were ≥50 tahun (86.7%). Mean thrombocyte count was within normal level. Platelet aggregation values of the ADP 10 µm showed hypoaggregation, meanwhile of the ADP 5 µm showed normoaggregation The Pearson correlation test showed that there was no significant correlation between the platelet count and the platelet aggregation value, either using 10µm ADP (P = 0.22) or using 5µm ADP (P = 0.08). Conclusion:Keywords: platelet count, platelet aggregation, T2DMThere was no significant correlation between the platelet count and the platelet aggregation values in patients with type-2 diabetes mellitus at Endocrine-Metabolic Clinic of Prof. Dr. R.D. Kandou Hospital Manado.
