In this paper, a new method is presented for solving generalized nonlinear singular Lane–Emden type equations arising in the field of astrophysics, by introducing Bernoulli wavelet operational matrix of derivative (BWOMD). Bernoulli wavelet expansions together with this operational matrix method, by taking suitable collocation points, converts the given Lane–Emden type equations into a system of algebraic equations. Solution to the problem is identified by solving this system of equations. Further applicability and simplicity of the proposed method has been demonstrated by some examples and comparison with other recent methods. The obtained results guarantee that the proposed BWOMD method provides the good approximate solution to the generalized nonlinear singular Lane–Emden type equations.

In this article, we propose a numerical method based on the fractional Taylor vector for solving multi-term fractional differential equations. The main idea of this method is to reduce the given problems to a set of algebraic equations by utilizing the fractional Taylor operational matrix of fractional integration. This system of equations can be solved efficiently. Some numerical examples are given to demonstrate the accuracy and applicability. The results show that the presented method is efficient and applicable.

In this paper, we present numerical technique for solving the Riccati equation by using operational matrix method with Chebyshev polynomials. The method consists of expanding the required approximate solution as truncated Chebyshev series. Using operational matrix method, we reduce the problem to a set of algebraic equations. Some numerical examples are given to demonstrate the validity and applicability of the method. The method is easy to implement and produces very accurate results.

The aim of this article is to present an efficient numerical procedure for solving Lane-Emden type equations. We present two practical matrix method for solving Lane-Emden type equations with mixed conditions by Bernstein polynomials operational matrices (BPOMs) on interval [a; b]. This methods transforms Lane-Emden type equations and the given conditions into matrix equation which corresponds to a system of linear algebraic equations. We also give some numerical examples to demonstrate the efficiency and validity of the operational matrices for solving Lane-Emden type equations (LEEs).

In this paper, we present a reliable method for solving system of fractional nonlinear differential equations. The proposed technique utilizes the Haar wavelets in conjunction with a quasilinearization technique. The operational matrices are derived and used to reduce each equation in a system of fractional differential equations to a system of algebraic equations. Convergence analysis and implementation process for the proposed technique are presented. Numerical examples are provided to illustrate the applicability and accuracy of the technique.

A numerical method for solving fourth-order integro-differential equations is presented. This method is based on replacement of the unknown function by a truncated series of well-known shifted Chebyshev expansion of functions. An approximate formula of the integer derivative is introduced. The introduced method converts the proposed equation by means of collocation points to system of algebraic equations with shifted Chebyshev coefficients. Thus, by solving this system of equations, the shifted Chebyshev coefficients are obtained. Special attention is given to study the convergence analysis and derive an upper bound of the error of the presented approximate formula. Numerical results are performed in order to illustrate the usefulness and show the efficiency and the accuracy of the present work.

Cancer belongs to the class of diseases which is symbolized by out of control cells growth. These cells affect DNAs and damage them. There exist many treatments available in medical science as radiation therapy, targeted therapy, surgery, palliative care and chemotherapy. Chemotherapy is one of the most popular treatments which depends on the type, location and grade of cancer. In this paper, we are working on modeling and prediction of the effect of chemotherapy on cancer cells using a fractional differential equation by using the differential operator in Caputo’s sense. The presented model depicts the interaction between tumor, normal and immune cells in a tumor by using a system of four coupled fractional partial differential equations (PDEs). For this system, initial conditions of tumor cells and dimensions are taken in such a way that tumor is spread out enough in size and can be detected easily with the clinical machines. An operational matrix method with Genocchi polynomials is applied to study this system of fractional PDEs (FPDEs). An operational matrix for fractional differentiation is derived. Applying the collocation method and using this matrix, the nonlinear system is reduced to a system of algebraic equations, which can be solved using Newton iteration method. The salient features of this paper are the pictorial presentations of the numerical solution of the concerned equation for different particular cases to show the effect of fractional exponent on diffusive nature of immune cells, tumor cells, normal cells and chemotherapeutic drug and depict the interaction among immune cells, normal cells and tumor cells in a tumor site.

A novel and efficient numerical method is developed based on interpolating scaling functions to solve 2D Fredholm integral equations (FIE). Using the operational matrix of integral for interpolating scaling functions, FIE reduces to a set of algebraic equations that one can obtain an approximate solution by solving this system. The convergence analysis is investigated, and some numerical experiments confirm the accuracy and validity of the method. To show the ability of the proposed method, we compare it with others.

A matrix method called the Bernoulli wavelet method is presented for numerically solving the fuzzy fractional integrodifferential equations. Using the collocation points, this method transforms the fuzzy fractional integrodifferential equation to a matrix equation which corresponds to a system of nonlinear algebraic equations with unknown coefficients. To illustrate the method, it is applied to certain fuzzy fractional integrodifferential equations, and the results are compared.

A computational method based on modification of block pulse functions is proposed for solving numerically the linear Volterra-Fredholm integral equations. We obtain integration operational matrix of modification of block pulse functions on interval [0,T). A modification of block pulse functions and their integration operational matrix can be reduced to a linear upper triangular system. Then, the problem under study is transformed to a system of linear algebraic equations which can be used to obtain an approximate solution of linear Volterra-Fredholm integral equations. Furthermore, the rate of convergence is O(h) and error analysis of the proposed method are investigated. The results show that the approximate solutions have a good of efficiency and accuracy.
