We report here the complete genome sequence of Aeromonas rivipollensis KN-Mc-11N1, which was isolated from a wild nutria (Myocastor coypus) in South Korea. Genomic analysis indicated that A. rivipollensis may have zoonotic potential similar to that of other aeromonads, and nutria could be one of the sources of transmission of zoonotic pathogens to humans.

ABSTRACT Rhizobium japonicum is a Gram-negative bacterium of interest for research into nitrogen fixation in legumes. This article describes the isolation, sequencing, and annotation of R. japonicum podophage Pasto. While it shows no significant similarity to identified phages, genomic analysis indicates that Pasto may be temperate and is a novel T7-like podophage.

ABSTRACT Leuconostoc kimchii strain NKJ218 was isolated from homemade kimchi in South Korea. The whole genome was sequenced using the PacBio RS II and Illumina NovoSeq 6000 platforms. Here, we report a genome sequence of strain NKJ218, which consists of a 1.9-Mbp chromosome and three plasmid contigs. A total of 2,005 coding sequences (CDS) were predicted, including 1,881 protein-coding sequences.

ABSTRACT Bartonella alsatica causes bacteremia in rabbits and, rarely, human infections. Here, we announce the complete and closed genome of B. alsatica IBS 382 (CIP 105477), generated by long-read Pacific Biosciences single-molecule real-time (SMRT) sequencing. The availability of this genome sequence allows future work on understanding the zoonotic potential of this pathogen.

Here, we report the complete genome sequence of Streptococcus mutans 27-3. Isolated from a caries-active patient, 27-3 produces significantly more extracellular membrane vesicles than the commonly used laboratory strain UA159. This study provides useful information for comparative genomic analysis and better understanding of regulation of vesiculogenesis in this bacterium.

ABSTRACT Staphylococcus aureus phage pSa-3, isolated in South Korea from a sewage sample, has a 137-kb genome with 29% G+C content. This phage was targeted to control the bacteria in clinical isolates (mainly from skin lesions) and can be used in the decolonization of S. aureus.

ABSTRACT Akkermansia glycaniphila is a novel Akkermansia species that was isolated from the intestine of the reticulated python and shares the capacity to degrade mucin with the human strain Akkermansia muciniphila MucT. Here, we report the complete genome sequence of strain PytT of 3,074,121 bp. The genomic analysis reveals genes for mucin degradation and aerobic respiration.

ABSTRACT Herein, we report the complete genome sequence of the Staphylococcus Myoviridae phage pSco-10 infecting Staphylococcus cohnii. The phage pSco-10 was isolated from duck feces collected from four farms in South Korea. The current report provides valuable information for genomic study of phages.
