The acceptance of mobile payments has been limited. This paper, therefore, attempts to investigate the determinants of mobile payment adoption. To this end, it examines the relationships between the personality trait dimensions of the Technology Readiness Index 2.0 and the system-specific dimensions of the Technology Acceptance Model in Germany and South Africa. The model was tested using structural equation modeling. Results show that some, but not all, of the Technology Readiness Index 2.0 variables had a significant influence on the dimensions of the Technology Acceptance Model. Perceived Usefulness was the strongest predictor of the intention to use mobile payments. The factor “country” did not moderate the structural relationships.

Despite the significant increase in telemedicine services technology, its adoption and use have been quite slow in some healthcare settings. It is generally accepted in today’s globalizing world that the success of telemedicine services relies on users’ satisfaction. Satisfying physicians and patients is one of the crucial objectives of telemedicine success. This study seeks to evaluate physicians’ satisfaction with telemedicine services adoption and utilization using the technology acceptance model. A structured questionnaire based on the construct of technology acceptance model was used to solicit for data from participants in four different government health institutions. Purposive and convenience sampling techniques were employed to select healthcare professionals from various medical fields. Structural equation modeling was utilized in the data analysis. Perceived ease of use and perceived usefulness of telemedicine services were found to influence physicians’ behavioral intentions. This resulted in increased efficiency, quality of services, quality patient care delivery, and satisfaction among physicians in using telemedicine services. We noted that the adoption of telemedicine services in clinical settings depends on physicians’ and patients’ satisfaction with the use of the service. The study contributes to empirical knowledge by identifying the vital predictive factors affecting telemedicine services satisfaction among physicians.

This study investigates the factors affecting the usage behavior and intention towards online purchasing platforms in purchasing agriculture and fisheries products online based on the technology acceptance model. External factors adapted from current literature were integrated with the model to understand the consumer intention and behavior towards online purchasing. An online survey with 318 respondents was used to test the hypotheses of the theoretical model using partial least squares component-based structural equation modeling. Results show that trust is a significant predictor of usage behavior. Furthermore, the factors visibility, perceived risk, perceived value, and enjoyment have directly or indirectly influenced intention and usage behavior through trust, perceived ease of use, and perceived usefulness. The researcher considers this work to have contributed essential inputs to other researchers interested in studying the adoption of online purchasing in fisheries and agriculture products.

The present study validated the general extended technology acceptance model for e-learning (GETAMEL) with the survey data from the English as a foreign language (EFL) online class during the novel coronavirus lockdown period. A total of 678 undergraduates participated in the survey. Structural equation modeling was employed to analyze the data. The results showed that the influence of perceived usefulness of students on their intentional behavior to use the online learning system was not mediated by their attitude, indicating a very limited role of attitude toward technology in the model. Enjoyment and self-efficacy had no significant effects on the internal constructs, raising theoretical concerns on the applicability of this general model into specific contexts. In addition, we found that experience might be a moderator rather than an antecedent of the internal constructs in the model.

The outbreak of COVID-19 in 2020 has posed several challenges to the sporting industry, caused by the change in behavior of sporting fans from purchasing event tickets to watching live broadcasts of events on the Internet. This study aims to gain a deeper understanding of fan behavior in this “new normal”. It adopts a technology acceptance model (TAM) to explore the effects of social presence (SP) in the context of online viewing of professional sports. For this purpose, the authors conducted an online survey of viewers who watched NBA sports events on the Amazon Mechanical Turk website using the Together Mode feature of Microsoft Teams. We collected 209 valid questionnaires and performed a partial least squares structural equation modeling analysis. The results showed that the SP-TAM structural model has adequate predictive relevance, and SP has a statistically significant positive relationship with both perceived ease of use and perceived usefulness. The model was thus validated, contributing to the existing body of knowledge on emerging technologies such as the creation of a virtual audience in sports. The study’s findings suggest that technology developers should focus on the effects of SP and emphasize practical functions to increase the use intention of sporting fans. Furthermore, professional sporting leagues should prioritize the use of virtual fan technology to optimize the viewing experience of their fans.

Hospital Information Systems (HIS) has been widely used in Indonesia. This implementation in hospital needs comprehensive, integrated information system designed to manage all the aspects of a hospital's operation. One of the factors that currently plays an important role in the successful HIS’s application is the user factor. The hospital can evaluate HIS from user factor, so that it becoming better, perfect and can support the objectives, vision and mission of the hospital. This study aims to use the Modified Technology Acceptance Model created in Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) and tested using the software Amos 20 to determine the variables that most influence in HIS’s application using in several hospitals in Sleman, Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta Province, Indonesia. Data collected by distributing questionnaires to employees of D grade hospitals in Sleman district. The results from this study are seven variables that may influence the user in using HIS (Subjective Norm, Perceived Usefulness, Perceived Ease of Use, User Satisfaction, Behavior Intention to Use, Attitude Toward Using, Actual System Usage) and significant or insignificant relationship among them.

In this study, we investigate the influence of two external influences i.e., Ease of finding and Computer anxiety on the technology acceptance model (TAM) and the continuance intention of using a popular course management system (CMS): WebCT. The study used a sample of 72 students that have experience using the software. The students came from four local higher education institutions. In order to study nature of the relationships among the constructs, eight (8) hypotheses were formulated and tested using a structural equation modeling technique: Partial Least Squares (PLS). The predictive power of the model was adequate and the study found support for seven of eight hypotheses. Regarding the impact of the antecedents on continuance intention in the use of technology, the results offer the following insights: when computer anxiety is low, students are able to use the system without much difficulty, and are likely to continue to use CMS in the future. Similarly, students will continue the tool as long as they find it easy to navigate. Perhaps due to contextual factors, the data did not support the relationship between Perceived usefulness and Usage. This particular finding is at variance with the TAM’s results and viewpoint. The study’s implications for research and practice are succinctly outlined.
