In this research, influence of adding Li2CO3 (at 0%, 2%, 4%, 6%) on electrical and magnetic properties of [Formula: see text][Formula: see text]Fe2O4 (with 60% Ni and 40% Mg) ferrite has been studied. The samples are prepared by solid state reaction method and sintered at 1300∘C for 6[Formula: see text]h. X-ray diffraction (XRD) patterns show the samples belong to single-phase cubic structure without any impurity phase. The magnetic properties (saturation magnetization and coercivity) of the samples have been investigated by VSM and found that the higher concentration of Li2CO3 reduces the hysteresis loss. DC resistivity increases with Li2CO3 contents whereas it decreases initially and then becomes constant at lower value with temperature which indicates that the studied samples are semiconductor. The dielectric dispersion occurs at a low-frequency regime and the loss peaks are formed in a higher frequency regime, which are due to the presence of resonance between applied frequency and hopping frequency of charge carriers. Notably, the loss peaks are shifted to the lower frequency with Li2CO3 additions.

Ni-Zn ferrite nanoparticles with Cr doping, having the general formula Ni0.5Zn0.5CrxFe2-xO4(x = 0.1, 0.3, 0.5) were prepared by simplified sol-gel method and sintered at 750±5°C. The structural and magnetic properties of the samples sintered at 750±5°C were studied. From X-ray diffraction (XRD) patterns, it was confirmed that the samples have single phase spinel structure. The crystallite size was calculated from the most intense peak (3 1 1) using the Debye Scherrer formula and was found to be in the range of 29-34 nm. The scanning electron microscope images showed that the particle size of the samples were in the range 60-120nm. Quantum design PPMS model 6700 was used to study magnetic properties of these samples. The effect of Cr doping on the magnetic properties was explained on the basis of cations distribution in the crystal structure.

<p>The synthesis of nanocrystalline BaFe<sub>12-2x</sub>Co<sub>x</sub>Ti<sub>x</sub>O<sub>19</sub> with variations of x (x = 0, 1, 2, and 3) have been investigated. The formation of polycrystalline samples that the cationic of Co<sup>2+</sup> and Ti<sup>4+</sup> in Co-Ti substituted Fe in BaFe<sub>12</sub>O<sub>19</sub> ferrites structure were prepared by solid state reaction method. The crystal structure, microstructure, and magnetic properties were characterized using powder X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscope (SEM) and permagraph meter, respectively. The results show that the nanocrystalline BaFe<sub>12-2x</sub>Co<sub>x</sub>Ti<sub>x</sub>O<sub>19</sub> has single phase with polycrystalline structure, the grain size decrease by doping, the coercivity (Hc) and saturation magnetization (Ms) decrease with increasing Co-Ti substitutions. </p>

Ferrite materials with the general formula Ni0.7Zn0.2Cu0.1Fe1.9M0.1O4 (M=Al and Cr) are synthesized by using the solid state reaction method. X-ray diffraction (XRD), Fourier transforms infrared (FTIR) spectra, scanning electron microscope (SEM) dielectric measurements and vibrating sample magnetometer (VSM) techniques are utilized to study the various properties of the synthesized ferrites. XRD analysis confirmed the formation of single phase cubic spinel structure and the crystallite size is calculated by Scherrer’s formula found to be 20.3 and 12.5 nm. The magnetic properties were studied using pulse field hysteresis loop technique at room temperature. The saturation magnetization exhibit 98.71 and 91.69 emu/g for Al3+ and Cr3+ substituted Ni-Zn-Cu ferrites respectively. The magnetic permeability is increasing for chromium substituted compound in the frequency range 100 Hz to 120 MHz and significant modification in DC conductivity is explained on the basis of hopping mechanism.

Co-Zr substituted M-type hexagonal barium ferrites, with chemical formula BaCoxZrxFe12-2xO19 (where x = 0.0, 0.2, 0.4, 0.6, 0.8 and 1.0), have been synthesized by double sintering ceramic method. The crystallographic properties, grain morphology and magnetic properties of these ferrites have been investigated by X-ray Diffraction (XRD), Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) and Vibrating Sample Magnetometer (VSM). The XRD patterns confirm the single phase with hexagonal structure of prepared ferrites. The magnetic properties have been investigated as a function of Co and Zr ion composition at an applied field in the range of 20 KOe. These studies indicate that the saturation magnetization (Ms) in the samples increases initially up to the Co-Zr composition of x=0.6 and decreases thereafter. On the other hand, the coercivity (Hc) and Remanent magnetization (Mr) are found to decrease continuously with increasing Co-Zr content. This property is most useful in permanent magnetic recording. The observed results are explained on the basis of site occupation of Co and Zr ions in the samples.

SrBi1.8Ce0.2Nb2O9 (SBCN) and SrBi1.8Ce0.2Ta2O9 (SBCT) powders were prepared via solid-state reaction method. X-ray diffraction analysis reveals that the SBCN and SBCT powders have the single phase orthorhom-bic Aurivillius structure at room temperature. The contribution of Raman scattering and FTIR spectroscopy of these samples were relatively smooth and resemble each other. The calcined powders were uniaxially pressed and sintered at 1250?C for 8 h to obtaine dense ceramics. Dielectric constant, loss tangent and AC conductivity of the sintered Ce-doped SrBi2Nb2O9 and SrBi2Ta2O9 ceramics were measured by LCR meter. The Ce-doped SBN (SBCN) ceramics have a higher Curie temperature (TC) and dielectric constant at TC (380?C and ?? ~3510) compared to the Ce-doped SBT (SBCT) ceramics (330?C and ?? ~115) when measured at 100Hz. However, the Ce-doped SBT (SBCT) ceramics have lower conductivity and dielectric loss.

The influences of the substitution of Ni with Mg on crystallographic and magnetic properties of the intermetallic alloys LaNi5-xMgx (x ≤ 0.4) were investigated. The X-ray diffraction patterns showed that all samples were of single phase, and the lattice parameters, a and c, decreased slightly upon chemical doping. LaNi5 is well known as an exchange-enhanced Pauli paramagnet. Interestingly, in LaNi5-xMgx, the ferromagnetic order existed even with a small amount of dopants; the Curie temperature reached the value of room temperature for x = 0.2, and enhanced with increasing x.

The analysis of Selected Area Diffraction (SAD) patterns that are collected from a single phase material having sufficient crystallites to provide continuous rings is relatively straightforward. However, when this condition is not met and there may be several phases present having rings of a spotty nature, the pattern is complex and can be quite difficult to analyze manually because of the vast number of discrete spots. WinJade from MDI is an X-ray diffraction (XRD) analysis program with an Electron Diffraction Program Module (EDPM) that can be used to aid in the analysis of SAD patterns. The EDPM produces Integrated Circular Density Plots (ICDP), which are one-dimensional intensity profiles plotted as a function of equivalent XRD 20 values or crystal d-spacings. These ICDP's can be overlayed with XRD patterns or with reference lines from the NIST and JCPDS crystalline databases for direct comparisons.

AbstractIn this work the X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy, Raman and dielectric studies of lead free perovskite (1 – x)Ba0.06(Na1/2Bi1/2)0.94TiO3–xNaNbO3 (0 ⩽ x ⩽ 1.0) ceramics, prepared using a standard solid state reaction method, were investigated. X-ray diffraction studies of all the ceramics suggested the formation of single phase with crystal structure transforming from rhombohedral-tetragonal to orthorhombic symmetry with the increase in NaNbO3 content. Raman spectra also confirmed the formation of solid solution without any new phase. Dielectric studies showed that the phase transition is of diffusive character and diffusivity parameter decreases with increasing NaNbO3 content. The compositional fluctuation was considered to be the main cause of diffusivity.

In In this study to understand the substitutional effect of Co-Zn on structural and magnetic properties of the BaFe12-2xCoxZnxO19 M-type hexagonal ferrites with concentration (x= 0.0, 0.2, 0.4, 0.6, 0.8, 1.0) were synthesized by the ceramic method. The results of x-ray diffraction show polycrystalline with single phase. Scanning electron microscopy micrographs shows the hexagonal ferrites that are composed of small particles with large porosity, roughly of spherical shapes. The substitution of Fe3+ ion by Co2+ and Zn2+ has changed magnetic properties of hexagonal ferrites.
