In 2014 BESIII collected a data sample of 567 [Formula: see text] at [Formula: see text] = 4.6 GeV, which is just above the [Formula: see text] pair production threshold. By analyzing this data sample, we have measured the absolute branching fractions for many decays of [Formula: see text] for the first time. These decays include the semileptonic decays of [Formula: see text], [Formula: see text], the hadronic decays of [Formula: see text], [Formula: see text], [Formula: see text], [Formula: see text], [Formula: see text], [Formula: see text], [Formula: see text], [Formula: see text], [Formula: see text], [Formula: see text], [Formula: see text], [Formula: see text], [Formula: see text], [Formula: see text], [Formula: see text], [Formula: see text], [Formula: see text] and inclusive decay [Formula: see text] + anything. The decays of [Formula: see text], [Formula: see text] and [Formula: see text] are observed for the first time and the others are measured with significantly improved precision. These results are important to benefit the development of the related theories, and provide important inputs for both charmed baryons and [Formula: see text] physics.

AbstractWe report the first measurement of the absolute branching fraction of the inclusive decay $$\Lambda _c^+ \rightarrow K_S^0X$$ Λ c + → K S 0 X . The analysis is performed using an $$e^+e^-$$ e + e - collision data sample corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 567 $$\hbox {pb}^{-1}$$ pb - 1 taken at $$\sqrt{s}$$ s = 4.6 GeV with the BESIII detector. Using eleven Cabibbo-favored $${\bar{\Lambda }}_c^-$$ Λ ¯ c - decay modes and the double-tag technique, this absolute branching fraction is measured to be $${\mathcal {B}}(\Lambda _c^+ \rightarrow K_S^0X)=(9.9\pm 0.6\pm 0.4)\%$$ B ( Λ c + → K S 0 X ) = ( 9.9 ± 0.6 ± 0.4 ) % , where the first uncertainty is statistical and the second systematic. The relative deviation between the branching fractions for the inclusive decay and the observed exclusive decays is $$(18.7\pm 8.3)\%$$ ( 18.7 ± 8.3 ) % , which indicates that there may be some unobserved decay modes with a neutron or excited baryons in the final state.

New results on charmonium-like states measured by the Belle experiment at the KEKB asymmetric e+e- collider are presented, in particular (a) Search for the Zc pair production in $\Upsilon (1{\rm{S}}),\,\Upsilon (2S)$ decays and in e+e- $\sqrt s $ of 10.52, 10.58, and 10.867 GeV. (b) Measurement of the absolute branching fractions of ${B^ + } \to {X_{c\overline c }}{K^ + }$ decays. (c) Observation of Ξc(2930)0 in the updated measurement of ${B^ - } \to {K^ - }{\Lambda _c}{\overline \Lambda _{\overline c }}.$ (d) Angular analysis of ${e^ + }{e^ - } \to {D^{(*) \pm }}{D^{* \mp }}$ process near the open charm threshold using initial state radiation.

The recent CLEO-c results on hadronic decays of D and Ds mesons are presented. First the absolute branching fractions for D and Ds mesons using a double tag technique are discussed, then are the Cabibbo suppressed decays and doubly Cabibbo suppressed decays. Finally, I present the inclusive and rare decay modes and other measurements from CLEO-c. These decays illuminate a wide range of physics. A brief theoretical introduction is given before the corresponding discussion on measurement.

Based on the data sample of 33 pb-1 collected at and around 3.773 GeV with the BESII detector at the BEPC collider, the absolute branching fractions for some exclusive semileptonic decays and inclusive decays of D mesons have been measured. With the measured branching fractions, the ratio of the two partial widths of the decays D0 → K-μ+νμ and [Formula: see text] is determined to be 0.87 ± 0.24 ± 0.15, which supports that the isospin conversation holds in the exclusive semimuonic decays of D0 and D- mesons. The ratio of the vector to pseudoscalar semileptonic decay rates [Formula: see text] is determined to be 0.57 ± 0.17 ± 0.02.

A few months ago I read Peter Nicholson's The Political Philosophy of the British Idealists for the first time. In the index I found more than a hundred references to Hegel and only one to Samuel Taylor Coleridge. However, as many of the latter's writings, published for the first time in recent years, become generally accessible there is an increasing sense that he has been unfairly deprived of his due status as a philosopher. This is partly, no doubt, the syndrome of the prophet in his own country and partly the inevitable consequence of much of his later work remaining unpublished until recent years. Coleridge himself, with what some would take to be confirmation of an over-sensitivity to criticism, felt the neglect of his work went deeper and betrayed an anti-philosophical trait in British character. Despite his close reading of the work of many of his German contemporaries it seems that he did not read more than sixtyone pages of Hegel's Wissenschaft der Logik. His margin notes to this work are, on the whole, negative in their criticism. However, despite significant disagreements, there is much common ground in theme, argument and conclusion between his many drafts of the ‘Logosophia’, his intended magnum opus, and Hegel's system.

In the June number of ANTIQUITY Mr Sinclair Hood introduced to the readers of this journal the sensational find of the so-called Neolithic inscribed tablets from Transylvania. When this find was announced for the first time [I], it made a great impression upon everybody who appreciated its significance. It was a kind of deus ex machina which seemed to solve once and for all one of the crucial issues of Central European archaeology: the absolute chronology of the Neolithic Period.

The last Indian parliamentary election held in 2014, proved to be the finest example of India’s age-old commitment towards the pinnacle of democratic norms. India had set a niche by conducting the largest democratic franchise in history. First time ever since the 1984, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) achieved the majority in the Lok Sabha without clubbing with coalition partners. It also got the absolute mandate to rule India’s federal government by ending the Congress monopoly. Interestingly, the Prime Ministerial candidate Narendra Modi in his campaigns criticized Congress-led United Progressive Alliance II (UPA II) for its impotency towards establishing friendly and cooperative relations with India’s neighbors. He also gave assurance that if his party (BJP) got the mandate, his leadership would adopt appropriate measures to resuscitate convivial ties with neighbors. Since forming the government, Prime Minister Modi has been persistently trying to pursue those promises by proceeding towards friendly ties with India’s neighbors. In the light of above discussion, this paper seeks to critically analyze the progress in Indo-Nepal relations under BJP government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

AbstractThis paper reports world averages of measurements of b-hadron, c-hadron, and $$\tau $$ τ -lepton properties obtained by the Heavy Flavour Averaging Group using results available through September 2018. In rare cases, significant results obtained several months later are also used. For the averaging, common input parameters used in the various analyses are adjusted (rescaled) to common values, and known correlations are taken into account. The averages include branching fractions, lifetimes, neutral meson mixing parameters, $$C\!P$$ C P  violation parameters, parameters of semileptonic decays, and Cabibbo–Kobayashi–Maskawa matrix elements.
