ABSTRAKPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui terdapat hubungan dan seberapa besar hubungan kepercayaan diri (Self Confidence) siswa dengan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika siswa dengan menggunakan model PBL (Problem Based Learning). Subjek penelitian ini berjumlah 30 orang. Data yang dikumpulkan dalam penelitian ini adalah data kepercayaan diri dengan angket, dan data kemampuan pemecahan masalah dengan tes esai. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa terdapat hubungan antara kepercayaan diri dengan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika siswa dengan menggunakan model PBL di MAN Kisaran yang ditunjukkan dengan   . Hubungan yang ada antara kepercayaan diri siswa dengan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika ditunjukkan  dengan , artinya semakin tinggi kepercayaan diri siswa maka semakin tinggi kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika, dan semakin rendah kepercayaan diri siswa maka semakin rendah kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika. Keywords: problem based learning, self confidence, kamampuan pemecahan masalah.  AbstrakThe purpose of this studi was to determine the relationship exists and how much the relationship of  self confidence (Self Confidence) students with a mathematics problem solving ability of students to use the PBL model (Problem Based Learning). Subjects in this study amounted to 30 people. The data collected in this study is a data on the self confidence by questionnaire, and the ability of solving mathematical problems with an tests essay. The results of this study indicate that there is a relationship between self confidence with mathematics problem solving ability of students using PBL models in MAN Kisaran indicated by . The relationship between self confidence in students with mathematical problem solving ability is indicated by, meaning that the higher the self confidence, the higher the students' mathematical problem solving ability, and the lower the self confidence of the students, the lower the mathematical problem solving abilities.Keywords: problem based learning, self confidence, problem solving mathematics ability

AbstrakRendahnya kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika siswa menyebabkan siswa kurang mampu menyelesaikan soal yang bersifat non rutin dan siswa masih kurang mengembangkan ide dan kemampuan yang dimilikinya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika siswa melalui model Problem Based Learning berdasarkan Kemampuan Awal Matematika (KAM) siswa. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kualitatif. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika siswa melalui model Problem Based Learning menjadi lebih baik. Sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VIII-7 SMP Negeri 12 Padang yang terdiri dari 32 orang. Siswa yang awalnya berkemampuan rendah meningkat menjadi siswa berkemampuan sedang dengan peningkatan sebesar 75 %. Siswa yang awalnya tergolong berkemampuan sedang meningkat menjadi siswa berkemampuan tinggi sebesar 26 %. Siswa sudah mampu 1) memahami masalah, 2) menyusun rencana penyelesaian, 3) melaksanakan penyelesaian, dan 4) mengecek kembali jawaban. Analysis of Students' Problem Solving Abilities Based on Early Mathematical Ability AbstractThe lack of students' mathematical problem-solving skills causes students to be less able to solve problems that are non-routine and students are still lacking in developing their ideas and abilities. This study aims to determine students 'mathematical problem-solving abilities through the Problem Based Learning model based on students' Early Mathematical Ability (KAM). The research method used is qualitative. The results of this study indicate that students' mathematical problem-solving abilities through the Problem Based Learning model are better. The sample in this study were students of class VIII-7 Middle School 12 Padang consisting of 32 people. Students who were initially low-skilled increased to moderate-capable students with an increase of 75%. Students who were initially classified as capable were increasing to high-ability students by 26%. Students can 1) understand the problem, 2) draw up a settlement plan, 3) carry out the solution, and 4) re-check the answers.

This research aims to know between emotional intelligence and mathematic’s problem-solving in students grade 8th in MTs. Al-Fathaanah Mempawah. This research used the correlation to be method and use the Pearson product moment’s formula to processing data. Twenty-one students are samples of this research, and they are select by using purposive sampling. The data collection technique in this research is using problem-solving and indirect communication that was using an emotional intelligence questionnaire. This research is the connection of emotional intelligence with mathematics problem-solving students grade 8th on MTs. Al-Fathaanah Mempawah, with r = 0.45 and the correlation classified is average. Keywords: Emotional Intelligence, Mathematical Problem Solving Ability

Like the human body, problem solving is the heart of mathematics. Problem solving ability is a capital for students to develop and explore themselves further in mathematics learning. This article aim to explain the development of students' mathematical problem solving abilities through Habit of Thinking Interdependently (HTI). This type of research is literature review where the authors analyze and draw conclusions from several relevant references related to HTI. HTI the attitude of students towards learning mathematics in the form of the habit of thinking together in groups. The conclusions obtained indicate that students' mathematical problem solving abilities can be developed through HTI.

<p class="Abstract">The research aimed to describe the students’ mathematics problem-solving skill and self-regulation in <em>SMP Negeri 8 Purwokerto</em> used Miles and Huberman’s model of cover reduction, serve, and conclusion. The data source of this research were eight graders of class F by using purposive sampling. The students grouped into three categories according to the mid-term result. The categories were: high, mediocre, and low scores. The data was collected using tests, questionnaire, interview, and documentation. This research concluded that the students’ mathematics problem-solving skill from those three categories was different. The high score students’ group had a better problem-solving skill compared to the students in the mediocre or the low categories. However, the self-regulation from these three groups did not have a significant difference. It was still at the developing level. Thus, it could be concluded that the students’ self-regulation did not affect the ability to solve mathematical problems.</p>

AbstrakPenelitian bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana pengaruh penerapan model problem based learning terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika siswa kelas VII SMP Negeri 3 Palembayan berdasarkan tingkat Kemampuan Awal Matematis (KAM) siswa. Dimana siswa dibagi menjadi 3 kategori yaitu KAM Tinggi, KAM Sedang dan KAM rendah. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah penelitian pre-eksperimen, dengan rancangan penelitian one shot case study. Subjek pada penelitian ini siswa kelas VII.3 yang dipilih secara secara acak. Instrumen yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah tes akhir. Tes yang digunakan adalah berbentuk essay. Penelitian ini menggunakan teknik analisis data deksriptif kualitatif. Berdasarkan analisis data secara keseluruhan, model PBL dapat membuat kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika siswa lebih baik. Terlebih lagi untuk siswa yang termasuk ke dalam kategori KAM tinggi. Ini terlihat dari ukuran pemusatan dimana rata-rata untuk siswa pada kategori sedang 52,86 dengan simpangan baku 11,31 sehingga disimpulkan bahwa model ini dapat memberikan pengaruh terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah siswa. The Effect of Application of the Problem Based Learning Model on Mathematical Problem Solving StudentsAbstractThis study aimed to determine how the effect of problem-based learning model implementation toward student mathematic problem-solving abilities at Class VII SMPN 3 Palembayan based on the basic level of Mathematical Ability. Students were divided into 3 categories such as the low, medium and high ability. It was pre-experimental research using one shot case research study design. The research subject was class VII.3 students who were randomly selected. The instrument was a final test in the form of an essay. It used a qualitative descriptive data analysis technique. Based on the data analysis, the Problem-solving learning model can make students' mathematics problem-solving abilities better. Moreover, those students are categorized into high ability. It is seen from the concentration measure for students in the medium category are 52.86 with a standard deviation i.e. 11.31. It is concluded that problem-solving model can affect the students' problem-solving abilities.

This article is based on the fact that problem-solving is a basic skill that every student should possess. To improve the student`s mindset through the effort to find problem-solving independently, so the learning activities should be centered on the students. The purpose of this study is to determine the comparison and improvement of students mathematical problem-solving abilities, as well as student attitudes toward the learning model problem-centered learning and problem-based learning. The research method used was a quasi-experiment with purposive sampling. The first experimental class that was class VIII I that got problem-centered learning model as much as 31 students, and the second experimental class that was class VIII H who got the problem-based learning model as many as 31 students. From the research and statistical calculations result, obtained the conclusion that the mathematical problem-solving ability students who got the model centered learning problem was better than students who got the model of learning problem-based learning. Meanwhile, for improvement of problem-solving abilities of mathematical students who got the learning model problem-centered learning and problem based learning each intermediate interpretation. And generally, the students’ attitude to the learning of mathematics by using the learning model problem-centered learning and problem-based learning are well interpreted.

The core competency of mathematics has always been a hot issue in the education field. The ability to solve problems in mathematics is also an indispensable ability to learn mathematics problem solving. The Polya problem solving table has an important guiding role for mathematics problem solving. Simplify the Polya problem-solving form to make it more suitable for high school teaching. Through the Polya problem-solving table, the cultivation of mathematical core competency is integrated into the process of mathematical problem-solving for our mathematics teaching and promote the development of students' mathematical core competency.

This study is a pre test-post-test experimental control group design having a goal to analyze the role of problem-based learning on students’ mathematical problem-solving ability (MPSA) and self-confidence (MSC). The study involves 66 tenth grade students, a mathematical problem-solving test, a mathematical self-confidence scale, and perception of problem-based learning (PBL) approach scale. The study found that on MPSA, its gain, and on MSC students getting treatment with PBL approach obtained better grade than that of students taught by conventional teaching. The other findings, there was the high association between MPSA and MSC, and student performed positive opinion toward PBL approach.

This paper reported result of a research attempted to analyze: the increase in student’s MPS and SC using problem-based learning; and to look interaction between students’ PMK and learning to increase student’s MPS and SC. This type of research was a quasi-experimental. The population of this research was all students in SMA Negeri 6 Medan. Then 33 students were chosen as the experimental class and 33 students in other class was chosen as a control class by using purposive sampling technique. The data in this study were analyzed using Two Ways ANOVA. The result of validity of student’s MPS test is 0,808. Both reability of test was 0.86. The result of this research were: (1) The enhancement of student’s MPS ability and SC using problem-based learning was higher than conventional learning; (2) There is no interaction between student’s PMK and learning on student’s MPS ability and SC.

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk meningkatkan keterampilan siswa SMA dalam pemecahan masalah matematika. Model pembelajaran yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Problem Based Learning (PBL). Penelitian ini menggunakan model Penelitian Tindakan Kelas yang dilakukan dengan dua siklus kegiatan. Subjek penelitian ini adalah 20 siswa kelas matematika SMA XII. Subjek diberikan tes pemecahan masalah matematika untuk mendapatkan data keterampilan mereka dalam pemecahan masalah matematika. Instrumen pembelajaran yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Silabus, Rencana Pelajaran dan lembar aktivitas Siswa. Instrumen yang digunakan untuk pengumpulan data adalah tes pemecahan masalah. Teknik analisis data dalam penelitian ini adalah analisis naratif deskriptif data kualitatif dan analisis statistik deskriptif data kuantitatif. Dari data kualitatif ditemukan peningkatan keterampilan siswa dalam pemecahan masalah matematika yang meliputi keterampilan mengidentifikasi masalah, merumuskan masalah, merancang dan melaksanakan rencana untuk memecahkan masalah, dan menafsirkan solusi. Peningkatan prestasi belajar ditunjukkan dengan peningkatan skor rata-rata 66,18 pada siklus 1 menjadi 86,32 pada siklus II. Dari data kualitatif dan kuantitatif dapat disimpulkan bahwa PBL telah meningkatkan keterampilan siswa dalam keterampilan masalah matematika serta proses pembelajaran. Penelitian ini memberi tanda bagi peneliti lain untuk mengetahui dampak PBL lainnya dalam Pembelajaran Matematika.   The goal of this research is to improve senior high school’s student skill in mathematics problem solving. Learning model used in this study is Problem Based Learning (PBL). This research used the Classroom Action Research model that conducted with two cycles activities. The subject of this research were 20 students on mathematics class of grade XII senior high schools. Subject were given mathematical problem solving test to get the data of their skills in mathematics problem solving. Learning instruments used in this research were Syllabus, Lesson Plan and Students’ activities sheet. Instrument used for data collecting is problem solving test. Data analysis techniques in this study are descriptive narrative analysis of qualitative data and descriptive statistics analysis of quantitative data. From qualitative data founded the improvement of students’ skill in mathematics problem solving which included the skill of identifying problem, formulating problem, design and carrying out the plan for solving problem, and interpreting the solution. The improvement of learning achievement showed by increasing of means score 66.18 in 1st cycle into 86.32 in the 2nd cycle. From the qualitative and quantitative data can be concluded that PBL has improved the students’ skill in mathematics problem skill as well as the learning process. This study giving a sign for other researcher to find out the other impact of PBL in Learning Mathematics.
