We present an efficient algorithm based on the robust Chinese remainder theorem (CRT) to perform single frequency determination from multiple undersampled waveforms. The optimal estimate of common remainder in robust CRT, which plays an important role in the final frequency estimation, is first discussed. To avoid the exhausted searching in the optimal estimation, we then provide an improved algorithm with the same performance but less computation. Besides, the sufficient and necessary condition of the robust estimation was proposed. Numerical examples are also provided to verify the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm and related conclusions.

In this paper, a new sufficient and necessary condition for judging block strictly-double diagonally dominant matrices is given firstly. By this theorem, some new practical criteria for nonsingular blockH-matrices are obtained. In the end, the result effectiveness is illustrated by numerical examples.

Direction-of-arrival (DoA) estimation of electromagnetic (EM) waves impinging on a spherical antenna array in short time windows is examined in this paper. Reflected EM signals due to non-line-of-sight propagation measured with a spherical antenna array can be coherent and/or highly correlated in a snapshot. This makes spectral-based methods inefficient. Spectral methods, such as maximum likelihood (ML) methods, multiple signal classification (MUSIC), and beamforming methods, are theoretically and systematically investigated in this study. MUSIC is an approach used for frequency estimation and radio direction finding, ML is a technique used for estimating the parameters of an assumed probability distribution for given observed data, and PWD applies a Fourier transform to the capture response and produces them in the frequency domain. Although they have been previously adapted and used to estimate DoA of EM signals impinging on linear and planar antenna array configurations, this paper investigates their suitability and effectiveness for a spherical antenna array. Various computer simulations were conducted, and plots of root-mean-square error (RMSE) against the square root of the Cramér–Rao lower bound (CRLB) were generated and used to evaluate the performance of each method. Numerical experiments and results from measured data show the degree of appropriateness and efficiency of each method. For instance, the techniques exhibit identical performance to that in the wideband scenario when the frequency f = 8 GHz, f = 16 GHz, and f = 32 GHz, but f = 16 GHz performs best. This indicates that the difference between the covariance matrix of the signal is coherent and that the steering vectors of signals impinging from that angle are small. MUSIC and PWD share the same problems in the single-frequency scenario as in the wideband scenario when the delay sample d = 0. Consequently, the DoA estimation obtained with ML techniques is more suitable, less biased, and more robust against noise than beamforming and MUSIC techniques. In addition, deterministic ML (DML) and weighted subspace fitting (WSF) techniques show better DoA estimation performance than the stochastic ML (SML) technique. For a large number of snapshots, WSF is a better choice because it is more computationally efficient than DML. Finally, the results obtained indicate that WSF and ML methods perform better than MUSIC and PWD for the coherent or partially correlated signals studied.

The closed-form robust Chinese Remainder Theorem (CRT) is a powerful approach to achieve single-frequency estimation from noisy undersampled waveforms. However, the difficulty of CRT-based methods’ extension into the multi-tone case lies in the fact it is complicated to explore the mapping relationship between an individual tone and its corresponding remainders. This work deals with this intractable issue by means of decomposing the desired multi-tone estimator into several single-tone estimators. Firstly, high-accuracy harmonic remainders are calculated by applying all-phase Discrete Fourier Transform (apDFT) and spectrum correction operations on the undersampled waveforms. Secondly, the aforementioned mapping relationship is built up by a novel frequency classifier which fully captures the amplitude and phase features of remainders. Finally, the frequencies are estimated one by one through directly applying the closed-form robust CRT into these remainder groups. Due to all the components (including closed-form CRT, the apDFT, the spectrum corrector and the remainder classifier) only involving slight computation complexity, the proposed scheme is of high efficiency and consumes low hardware cost. Moreover, numeral results also show that the proposed method possesses high accuracy.

Abstract We first show a sufficient and necessary condition that a solution of fuzzy relation inequalities with addition-min composition is a minimal one. We then prove that for every solution of the fuzzy relation inequalities there exists a minimal solution that is less than or equal to the solution in a very different way. We finally give an algorithm to find a minimal solution for a given solution, which is illustrated by numerical examples.

Abstract In this study, we obtain the scalar and matrix exponential functions through a series of quaternion-valued functions on time scales. A sufficient and necessary condition is established to guarantee that the induced matrix is real-valued for the complex adjoint matrix of a quaternion matrix. Moreover, the Cauchy matrices and Liouville formulas for the quaternion homogeneous and nonhomogeneous impulsive dynamic equations are given and proved. Based on it, the existence, uniqueness, and expressions of their solutions are also obtained, including their scalar and matrix forms. Since the quaternion algebra is noncommutative, many concepts and properties of the non-quaternion impulsive dynamic equations are ineffective, we provide several examples and counterexamples on various time scales to illustrate the effectiveness of our results.

AbstractThis paper studies the linear fractional-order delay differential equation $$ {}^{C}D^{\alpha }_{-}x(t)-px(t-\tau )= 0, $$ D − α C x ( t ) − p x ( t − τ ) = 0 , where $0<\alpha =\frac{\text{odd integer}}{\text{odd integer}}<1$ 0 < α = odd integer odd integer < 1 , $p, \tau >0$ p , τ > 0 , ${}^{C}D_{-}^{\alpha }x(t)=-\Gamma ^{-1}(1-\alpha )\int _{t}^{\infty }(s-t)^{- \alpha }x'(s)\,ds$ D − α C x ( t ) = − Γ − 1 ( 1 − α ) ∫ t ∞ ( s − t ) − α x ′ ( s ) d s . We obtain the conclusion that $$ p^{1/\alpha } \tau >\alpha /e $$ p 1 / α τ > α / e is a sufficient and necessary condition of the oscillations for all solutions of Eq. (*). At the same time, some sufficient conditions are obtained for the oscillations of multiple delays linear fractional differential equation. Several examples are given to illustrate our theorems.

Creativity is the key to obtaining and maintaining competitiveness of modern organizations, and it has attracted much attention from academic circles and management practices. Shared leadership is believed to effectively influence team output. However, research on the impact of individual creativity is still in its infancy. This study adopts the qualitative comparative analysis method, taking 1584 individuals as the research objects, underpinned by a questionnaire-based survey. It investigates the influence of the team’s shared leadership network elements and organizational environmental factors on the individual creativity. We have found that there are six combination of conditions of shared leadership and organizational environmental factors constituting sufficient combination of conditions to increase or decrease individual creativity. Moreover, we have noticed that the low network density of shared leadership is a sufficient and necessary condition of reducing individual creativity. Our results also provide management suggestions for practical activities during the team management.

Abstract Nonlocal game as a witness of the nonlocality of entanglement is of fundamental importance in various fields. The well-known nonlocal games or equivalent linear Bell inequalities are only useful for Bell networks consisting of single entanglement. Our goal in this paper is to propose a unified method for constructing cooperating games in network scenarios. We propose an efficient method to construct multipartite nonlocal games from any graphs. The main idea is the graph representation of entanglement-based quantum networks. We further specify these graphic games with quantum advantages by providing a simple sufficient and necessary condition. The graphic games imply a linear Bell testing of the nonlocality of general quantum networks consisting of EPR states. It also allows generating new instances going beyond CHSH game. These results have interesting applications in quantum networks, Bell theory, computational complexity, and theoretical computer science.
