The main purpose of this paper is to assess the system reliability of electronic transaction data transmissions made by commercial banks in terms of stochastic flow network. System reliability is defined as the probability of demand satisfaction and it can be used to measure quality of service. In this paper, we study the system reliability of data transmission from the headquarters of a commercial bank to its multiple branches. The network structure of the bank and the probability of successful data transmission are obtained through the collection of real data. The system reliability, calculated using the minimal path method and the recursive sum of disjoint products algorithm, provides banking managers with a view to comprehend the current state of the entire system. Besides, the system reliability can be used not only as a measurement of quality of service, but also an improvement reference of the system by adopting sensitivity analysis.

With the growing demand for quality-of-service (QoS) aware routing protocol in wireless networks, QoS-based routing has emerged as an interesting research topic. Quality of service guarantee in wireless sensor networks (WSNs) is difficult and more challenging due to the fact that the available resources of sensors and the various applications running over these networks have different constraints in their nature and requirements. In this paper, we present a heuristic neighbor selection mechanism in WSNs that uses the geographic routing mechanism combined with the QoS requirements to provide multiobjective QoS routing (MQoSR) for different application requirements. The problem of providing QoS routing is formulated as link, and path-based metrics. The link-based metrics are partitioned in terms of reliability, delay, distance to sink, and energy, and the path-based metrics are presented in terms of end-to-end delay, reliability of data transmission, and network lifetime. The simulation results demonstrate that MQoSR protocol is able to achieve the delay requirements, and due to optimum path selection process, the achieved data delivery ratio is always above the required one. MQoSR protocol outperforms the existing model in the literature remarkably in terms of reliable data transmission, time data delivery, and routing overhead and underlines the importance of energy-efficient solution to enhance network lifetime.

In this article, we propose Best Communication Node Election for well-organized Path in Flat Topology The main goal of this<strong> </strong>work is to choose the best data transmission node in flat topology for improve the multi hop routing. This scheme, the best communication node selection based on Path Metric and this Path Metric is measured by the packet obtained rate, dropped rate, latency rate and node energy. This scheme provide guarantees quality of Service in the network.</p>

Most popular scientific workflow systems can now support the deployment of tasks to the cloud. The execution of workflow on cloud has become a multi-objective scheduling in order to meet the needs of users in many aspects. Cost and makespan are considered to be the two most important objects. In addition to these, there are some other Quality-of-Service (QoS) parameters including system reliability, energy consumption and so on. Here, we focus on three objectives: cost, makespan and system reliability. In this paper, we propose a Multi-objective Evolutionary Algorithm on the Cloud (MEAC). In the algorithm, we design some novel schemes including problem-specific encoding and also evolutionary operations, such as crossover and mutation. Simulations on real-world and random workflows are conducted and the results show that MEAC can get on average about 5% higher hypervolume value than some other workflow scheduling algorithms.

Purpose The main aim of this paper is to measure customers’ perception of car Ijarah financing transactions services provided by the Islamic banks and financial institutions in Pakistan. Design/methodology/approach The paper uses two research methodologies: Kruskal–Wallis and Mann–Whitney test (non-parametric) and logit regression model (parametric). Both methods are then applied to a real data set of 300 respondents from various cities of Pakistan in the car Ijarah financing industry. The demographic effects are also investigated to see the perception about the degree of Shari’ah compliance and the quality of service of transaction offered by banks. Findings Main finds of the paper reveal that the customers who used the car Ijarah facility from Islamic banks have positive attitude toward this sort of transaction. In addition, gender, income, marital status affect the perception about the quality of Shari’ah compliance, and the quality of service of transaction issues are very important to selected clients in the industry. Research limitations/implications These findings are limited to the car Ijarah financing industry and may not be applicable in other banking products in Pakistan and elsewhere. Practical implications Based on the results of this study, potential Islamic bank customers may find it helpful choose products or make product decisions conveniently. The findings of the paper also support Islamic banks in improving the Ijarah facility to increase their customer base in the geo-political locality with similar characteristics as Pakistan. Social implications Shari’ah compliance in the Islamic finance industry is a sensitive issue in Pakistan, and hence, car Ijarah’s Shari’ah compliance can affect banks’ reputation and sensitivity. Originality/value The work reported in this paper is original, unpublished and the paper is not submitted elsewhere for publication.

Non-functional properties are an essential constituent of service level agreements as they describe those quality-of-service parameters that are not related to the actual function of a service. Thus, non-functional properties let providers create distinguishing service offers and let consumers discriminate between various offers that provide the same function. The negotiation of non-functional properties is how service level agreements are commonly established. This chapter introduces various forms, models, specifications, and realizations of service level agreement negotiation to provide a broad background of the current state-of-the-art. Although different in various details, the described systems share a number of common features. Based on them, a holistic architecture is defined combining previous work into one coherent framework. The architecture is applicable to different negotiation models and protocols, and covers all functions of the negotiation phase. Based on this architecture, particular challenges and areas of future work are motivated. These mostly revolve around increasing the acceptance of service level agreement negotiation and enhancing interoperability.

Electronic banking is an important area of banking activities, under which the commercial banks try to retain existing clients or attract new customers through a better quality of service and decrease in prices of these services. The aim of the article was to examine selected attributes of security and the use of electronic banking and quantify differences in approach of the bank customers by gender, education and age. Our research confirmed that the dominant part of banking customers use electronic access when managing their personal finances. We found out that there are some differences in the approach of the bank customers in terms of their education. The customers with higher education to a greater extent and more intensively use electronic banking. In the safety area, we did not find any significant differences between banking clients by gender, education and age. The only exception is the finding that clients up to 35 years are significantly more confident in the use of electronic banking through public networks.
