Twelve derivatives of biguanide-derived 1,3,5-triazines, a promising class of anticancer agent, were synthesised and evaluated for their anticancer activity against two colorectal cancer cell lines—HCT116 and SW620. 2c and 3c which are the derivatives containing o-hydroxyphenyl substituents exhibited the highest activity with IC50 against both cell lines in the range of 20–27 µM, which is comparable to the IC50 of cisplatin reference. Moreover, the potential use of the calcium citrate nanoparticles (CaCit NPs) as a platform for drug delivery system was studied on a selected 1,3,5-triazine derivative 2a. Condition optimisation revealed that the source of citrate ions and reaction time significantly influence the morphology, size and %drug loading of the particles. With the optimised conditions, “CaCit-2a NPs” were successfully synthesised with the size of 148 ± 23 nm and %drug loading of up to 16.3%. Furthermore, it was found that the release of 2a from the synthesised CaCit-2a NPs is pH-responsive, and 2a could be control released under the acidic cancer environment. The knowledge from this study is perceptive for further development of the 1,3,5-triazine-based anticancer drugs and provide the platform for the incorporation of other drugs in the CaCit NPs in the future.

The crystal structures of calcium citrate hexahydrate, calcium citrate tetrahydrate, and anhydrous calcium citrate have been solved using laboratory and synchrotron X-ray powder diffraction data, and optimized using density functional techniques. Both the hexahydrate and tetrahydrate structures are characterized by layers of edge-sharing Ca coordination polyhedra, including triply chelated Ca. An additional isolated Ca is coordinated by water molecules, and two uncoordinated water molecules occur in the hexahydrate structure. The previously reported polymorph of the tetrahydrate contains the same layers, but only two H2O coordinated to the isolated Ca and two uncoordinated water molecules. Anhydrous calcium citrate has a three-dimensional network structure of Ca coordination polyhedra. The new polymorph of calcium citrate tetrahydrate is the major crystalline phase in several commercial calcium supplements.

Eggshell calcium citrate (ESCC) prepared by pulsed electric field (PEF) may be a new calcium resource to help treat and prevent calcium deficiency. An absorption assessment of ESCC prepared by PEF was performed in male mice with apparent calcium absorption. Compared with control group, ESCC prepared by PEF at doses of 133.0 mg/(kg•d) significantly improved the alkalinity phosphatase (ALP) activity (P < 0.05) and decreased the levels of tartrate-resistant acid phosphatase (TRAP) (P < 0.05). The ratio of calcium and phosphorus were in the normal range. Therefore, ESCC prepared by PEF could promote the absorption of calcium in mice.

ways of production of ceramic materials with use as the plasticizing additive of the sulphitic and alcohol bards (SAB), the calcium citrate filtrate (CCF) which is liquid withdrawal of production of citric acid in the microbiological way are known. However introduction to raw mix of CoB reduces forming humidity and fall of the formed products insufficiently, and an essential lack of FTsK is the low durability of products on compression with a big volume mass of samples. In work the possibility of use as the plasticizing additive to a clay lot of withdrawal of the spirit industry – melasses bards is investigated. As a part of molasses the remains of amino acids and other organic substances which have the plasticizing effect on clay materials contain. On the example of natural clays of three various fields the plasticizing action melasses bards is proved, and the number of plasticity of the studied clays increases in direct ratio to increase in additive melassny bards in clay raw mix. It is shown that introduction to raw mix melasses bards leads to improvement of appearance of pottery, decrease in jointing, increase in durability for Veselovsky clay for 7%, for the Oryol clay for 67%, for Bessonovskaya – for 23%. Research of the received ceramic samples on frost resistance according to requirements of GOST bards unlike the products which aren’t containing additive bards showed high frost resistance of products with additive melass. Also lowered decrease in durability and loss of mass of the samples containing additive melassny bards is noted
