A key to the subtribes and genera of the Curculionini is presented, and two new genera are described: Pseudoculio with Curculio (Balaninus) discreticoxis Marshall, as its type species (new combination); and Megaoculis with Megaoculis egeri, new species, as its type species. Keys to the species of the new genera are provided. Photos of habitus are included for most taxa and of genitalia of the new species. The following taxa are described as new in this paper: subtribes Archariina, new subtribe, Erganiina, new subtribe, and Labaninina, new subtribe; and new species: Pseudoculio barclayi, new species, P. confusicoxis , new species, P. crinitus, new species, P. promissus, new species, P. spiesi, new species, and P. vittatus, new species. Curculio guyanensis Rheinheimer is reassigned to the new genus Megaoculis, new combination. The following genera placed in Incertae sedis in Alonso-Zarazaga and Lyal are removed from the tribe: Allocionus Hustache, Balaninorhynchus Fairmaire, Bradyninus Fairmaire, Semicardius Hustache and Trichanthonomus Hustache.

The Aclopinae from Argentina and Chile are revised and a redescription of the subfamily and type genus Aclopus Erichsonare presented. Aclopus vittatus Erichson is designated as the type species of Aclopus. Two new genera, GracilaclopusOcampo and Mondaca new genus, and Desertaclopus Ocampo and Mondaca new genus, are described. Gracilaclopusincludes eight species: G. bidentulus Ocampo & Mondaca new species, G. caceresi Ocampo & Mondaca new species, G.candelariae Ocampo & Mondaca new species, G. crepuscularis Ocampo & Mondaca new species, G. electricus Ocampo& Mondaca new species, G. morochus Ocampo & Mondaca new species, G. nigroscutatus Ocampo & Mondaca newspecies, and G. parvulus (Ohaus) new combination. The genus Desertaclopus includes three species: D. atacamensisOcampo & Mondaca new species, D. lucasi Ocampo & Mondaca new species, and D. marcosi Ocampo & Mondaca newspecies. A neotype is designated for Aclopus parvulus Ohaus (now G. parvulus). A key and diagnostic characters for allArgentinean and Chilean aclopine genera and species are provided. Based on a detailed morphological study, theAustralian Phaenognatha Hope and the Neotropical Neophaenognatha Allsopp are removed from the Aclopinae and transferred to Scarabaeidae incertae sedis.

Two new genera and three species of the Pantheinae are described. The genus Flavala gen. n. (type-species Acronycta flavala Moore, 1867) is separated from Anacronicta Warren, 1909. The new combination Flavala flavala (Moore, 1867) comb. n. is introduced. Two new species, Flavala crypta sp. n. and F. secunda sp. n. are described based on the result of barcoding of mitochondrial DNA. The new genus Xizanga gen. n. (type-species Xizanga mysterica sp.n.) is tentatively placed in Pantheinae.

The taxonomic concept of the subfamily Normanellinae Lang (Harpacticoida, Laophontidae)is revised. As a result anew family Laophontopsidaeis proposed to accommodate Laophontopsis Sars and two new genera Aculeopsis and Telodocus. It is concluded that the presumed boreo-mediterranean distribution pattern displayed by the type species L. lamellifera (Claus) is merely the result of erroneous identifications. The population of northwest Europe is assigned to a new species L. borealis and another new species L. monardi is proposed for Monard’s (1928) material from Banyuls-sur-Mer. L. secundus Sewell is placed in the new genus Telodocus. Aculeopsis gen. nov. embraces only A. longisetosa spec. nov. and constitutes the most primitive genus of the family. The Laophontopsidaeare placed within the superfamily Laophontoidea. The Normanellinae are provisionally upgraded to family level despite their diphyletic status because this narrows the diagnosis of the Laophontidae considerably. The genera are attributed to two clearly defined but non-related subfamilies, Normanellinae Lang (Normanella Brady) and Cletopsyllinae subfam. nov. (Cletopsyllus Willey, Pseudocletopsyllus Vervoort). The genus Pseudocleta Lang is relegated to incertae sedis within the Laophontoidae.

A new genus and species of basal cyclostome Braconidae is described and figured from a male preserved in mid-Cretaceous amber from northern Myanmar.  <strong><em>Rhetinorhyssalus morticinus</em></strong> Engel, new genus and species, is interesting for its combination of primitive features such as a minute apical costal cell and anal stubs in the forewing, while lacking 2Cu in the hind wing, a putatively derived trait.  As such, the genus may represent a lineage diverging from the braconid stem subsequent to many protorhyssalines, while remaining basal relative to generalized cyclostome groups such as Rhyssalinae.  In addition, the Late Cretaceous <em>Diospilus allani</em> Brues, in Campanian Canadian amber, is transferred to <strong><em>Diorhyssalus</em></strong> Engel, new genus, and its similarity to <em>Rhetinorhyssalus</em> is discussed.  This transfer results in the new combination, <em>Diorhyssalus allani</em> (Brues).  Both genera are tentatively considered as subfamily <em>incertae sedis</em>.

AbstractAngilovelia n.gen. is described with Velia y-alba Paiva, 1918, from Burma as type-species and only included species. It has stridulatory devices similar to those found in species of the Neotropical genus Stridulivelia Hungerford. Three new species of Angilia Stål subgenus Adriennella Poisson are described, A. orientalis n.sp. (Thailand, Hong Kong), A. bispinosa n.sp. (Thailand), and A. trispinosa n.sp. (Malayan Peninsula?). The Palaearctic genus Velia Latreille reaches the border zone between this region and the Oriental region. V. (Plesiovelia) affinis Kolenati ssp. marussii Tamanini, described from Hindukush (Afghanistan, Pakistan), is here recorded from Kashmir (India) and the first species of the genus is described from China, V. (Haldwania) sinensis n.sp. A key is given to the genera and subgenera of Veliinae of the world.

Recent survey work for planthoppers at La Selva Biological Station in Costa Rica found two new species allied with Cenchrea Westwood. The cytochrome c oxidase subunit I (COI) and 18S were sequenced for the new taxa and used these data to assess the genus-level standing of the new taxa. The new taxa do not cluster with Cenchrea dorsalis Westwood, the type species of Cenchrea. A new genus Tico gen. n. described for the reception of new species described as Tico emmettcarri sp. n. (the type species) and Tico pseudosororius sp. n. Cenchrea sororia Fennah is moved to Tico gen. n., to form the new combination Tico sororius (Fennah). Tico gen. n. is compared with allied genera, and review genus-level diagnostic features and the species composition of Cenchrea, which appears to be compositionally heterogenous, but additional data is needed to evaluate genus-level placement of most species.

AbstractSystematic analysis shows that the Southern Hemisphere bivalve genus Retrotapes includes the Antarctic species R. antarcticus, R. newtoni, and R. robustus and recognizes for the first time the presence of Katelysia represented by K. florentinoi. Two new genera were erected in this study: Marciachlys new genus to include M. inflata new combination, and Adelfia new genus, which includes A. austrolissa new combination and A. omega new species from the Eocene of Antarctica, and the late Eocene Chilean A. arenosa new combination. Eurhomalea carlosi was synonymized with K. florentinoi; Cyclorismina marwicki with R. antarcticus; Gomphina iheringi was considered an indeterminate species; and Cockburnia lunulifera was excluded from the Tapetinae. These systematic assignments are supported by a phylogenetic analysis, which recognizes an Austral clade of Tapetinae, comprising all the genera mentioned above, along with Marcia, Paleomarcia, Atamarcia, and Protapes.UUID: http://zoobank.org/a8c91a9f-99ec-4235-8416-d398771a3eb2

Forty species in 19 genera are recorded from Yemen. Three new genera are described: Paglianotilla gen. nov. (type species P. hogenesi sp. nov.), Rasnitsynitilla gen. nov. (type species R. brachyptera sp. nov.), and Vanhartenidia gen. nov. (type species V. felix sp. nov.). Ten new species are described: Arnoldtilla achterbergi sp. nov. (Yemen), Dentilla ehrenbergi sp. nov. (Yemen, Saudi Arabia), P. hogenesi sp. nov. (Yemen), R. brachyptera sp. nov. (Yemen), R. invreai sp. nov. (Yemen), R. schmideggeri sp. nov. (Yemen), V. arabica sp. nov. (Yemen), V. felix sp. nov. (Yemen), V. tihama sp. nov. (Yemen), and Spinulomutilla yemenita sp. nov. (Yemen). Hitherto unknown females are recognized for Arnoldtilla Nonveiller, Omotilla Invrea, and Tropidotilla milmili (Magretti). New synonymy is proposed for Omotilla Invrea 1943 = Conjunctotilla Nonveiller 1996, syn. nov.; Pseudophotopsis aurea (Klug 1829) = Mutilla kassalina Magretti 1898, syn. nov., P. continua arabica Hammer 1962, syn. nov. New status is proposed for Arnoldtilla Nonveiller, Myrmilla rubida Magretti, M. parvula Magretti, Glossotilla djiboutiensis Bischoff, V. kassalana (Bischoff), V. pyrrhospilota (Bischoff). New combination is proposed for: A. bischoffi (Arnold), A. silvestris (Arnold), O. conjuncta (Klug), O. conjunctoides (Magretti), O. grazianii (Invrea), Dentilla arabica (Hammer), V. dives (Smith), V. kassalana (Bischoff), V. pyrrhospilota (Bischoff), V. tricolor (Klug), and V. unguiculata (Magretti). Eleven genera are recorded for the first time from Yemen: Arnoldtilla Nonveiller, Omotilla Invrea, Macromyrme Lelej, Ronisia Costa, Strangulotilla Nonveiller, Tropidotilla Bischoff, Dentilla Lelej, Glossotilla Bischoff, Dentotilla Nonveiller, Spinulomutilla Nonveiller, and Dasylabris Radoszkowski. Seventeen species are recorded for the first time from Yemen: Pseudophotopsis maura Bischoff, P. mascatiana Invrea, Myrmilla parvula Magretti, M. rubida Magretti, T. bellii (Magretti), T. carinulifera Bischoff, T. frontalis (Klug), T. milmili (Magretti), Strangulotilla samharica (Magretti), Ronisia idonea (André), Dentilla testacea (Klug), Glossotilla djiboutiensis Bischoff, Dentotilla auricoma (Bischoff), Dasylabris biblica Invrea, Tricholabiodes niloticus Suárez, T. pedunculatoides Bischoff, and T. sudanensis Suárez. Dentilla testacea (Klug) and Tricholabiodes chloroticus (Gribodo) are recorded for the first time from Saudi Arabia. Tricholabiodes sudanensis Suárez is recorded for the first time from Oman. Glossotilla djiboutiensis Bischoff is recorded for the first time from Eritrea. Keys to eight species of Vanhartenidia and three species of Rasnitsynitilla are given.

The spider genus Putaoa new genus (Araneae, Pimoidae) is described to place two species of pimoids from China, Putaoa huaping new species (the type species) and P. megacantha (Xu & Li, 2007) new combination. Parsimony analysis of morphological characters provides support for the monophyly of Putaoa and for its sister group relationship to the genus Weintrauboa Hormiga, 2003 and corroborates the monophyly of Pimoidae.
