Just-in-time manufacturing is a main manufacturing strategy used to enhance manufacturers’ competitiveness through inventory and lead time reduction. Implementing just-in-time manufacturing has a number of challenges, for example, effective, frequent and real-time information sharing and communication between different functional departments, responsive action for adjusting the production plan against the continually changing manufacturing situation. Internet of Things technology has the potential to be used for capturing desired data and information from production environment in real time, and the collected data and information can be used for adjusting production schedules corresponding to the changing production environment. This article presents an Internet of Things based framework to support responsive production planning and scheduling in just-in-time manufacturing. The challenges of implementing just-in-time manufacturing are identified first and then an Internet of Things based solution is proposed to address these challenges. A framework to realise the proposed Internet of Things solution is developed and its implementation plan is suggested based on a case study on automotive harness parts manufacturing. This research contributes knowledge to the field of just-in-time manufacturing by incorporating the Internet-of-Things technology to improve the connectivity of production chains and responsive production scheduling capability.

As one of the freshest technologies nowadays, the development of Internet of Things is attracting more and more concerns. Internet of Things is able to connect all the items to Internet via information technology such as RFID and Wireless Sensor Network, in order to realize intelligent identification and management. It is supposed in Internet of Things environments, satisfactory services can be provided through any devices or any networks, whenever it is demanded. It makes that not only PC device but also other small devices with intelligence can be connected to the same network. As a result, It is much more convenient for people to obtain real-time information and then to take corresponding actions.

Design and development of systems for delivering real-time information to people with disabilities and elderly persons need to be based on defined user requirements. For this purpose, the user requirements have been defined in this paper according to the everyday needs of people who use traffic networks and move in closed spaces. The logical presentation of the functionality of the informing system operation and its subsystems includes all the information (data) important for designing a user information delivery system. The paper presents a conceptual architecture system for delivering user informing services related to the environment based on the Internet of Things concept. The aim of the user informing service is an increase in the level of mobility of persons with disabilities and the senior age groups of users. In order to check the operation of the proposed architecture, the informing system operation was monitored on Arduino Uno and Raspberry Pi platforms in laboratory conditions. A simulation confirmed the interdependence of individual data from different subsystems in order to provide real-time information to the system user. The proposed conceptual architecture can contribute to a more efficient approach to the modeling of assistive technologies (with the aim of informing the users) based on dew/fog/cloud technologies in the Internet of Things  environment.

With the development of modern information and communication technology and network technology, modern enterprises choose to build virtual dynamic alliance to achieve business development goals. There are many uncertain relationships between the participating companies in the virtual dynamic alliance. These companies join together to accomplish a particular goal, but also has their own unique individual needs. Internet of Things is an important part of a new generation of information technology. Things technology is an extension and expansion of the network based on the Internet. Basis for building virtual dynamic alliance is the Internet. The enterprises participating in a virtual dynamic alliance communicate with each other relying on information communication technology. Internet of Things technology provides real-time performance evaluation data to the participating enterprises. This will ensure real-time performance data communication between the dynamic alliance enterprises relatively loose.

To help drivers to quickly find a spare parking, a parking guidance control system was proposed. The principle of ultrasonic ranging was used to detect the state of a parking space, and through the internet of things the parking detector transmits the real-time information to the control center. The control center mainly is an industrial computer and is responsible for dealing with the real-time information and sending the control command by internet of things. The guidance signs at each crossroad receive the wireless commands and execute them, by which the guidance function is performed. The internet of things was realized by ZigBee star network, in which the control center is a coordinator and other parts are routers or terminal equipments. The simulation experiment results show that the parking guidance system works well, and has the value of application and promotion to some extent.

The production of facilities vegetable affected significantly by environmental factors, therefore it require real-time monitoring information of light, air temperature and humidity, soil temperature and humidity, and timely early warning and controlling, to prevent irreparable damage. This study achieved real-time monitoring and timely warning of environmental factors, and optimal control of pumps and roller blinds in the Facility vegetable. We have adopted Internet of Things technology and WCF communication interface, the system through C # language and the SQL Server database to prepare. The application in Jilin Province Jinta Industrial (Group) Co.Ltd. has showed that the system is better, achieved the purpose of high yield income.

With the wide application of Internet of things technology and era of large data in agriculture, smart agricultural design based on Internet of things technology can efficiently realize the function of real-time data communication and information processing and improve the development of smart agriculture. In the process of analyzing and processing a large amount of planting and environmental data, how to extract effective information from these massive agricultural data, that is, how to analyze and mine the needs of these large amounts of data, is a pressing problem to be solved. According to the needs of agricultural owners, this article studies and optimizes the data storage, data processing, and data mining of large data generated in the agricultural production process, and it uses the k-means algorithm based on the maximum distance to study the data mining. The crop growth curve is simulated and compared with improved K-means algorithm and the original k-means algorithm in the experimental analysis. The experimental results show that the improved K-means clustering method has an average reduction of 0.23 s in total time and an average increase of 7.67% in the F metric value. The algorithm in this article can realize the functions of real-time data communication and information processing more efficiently, and has a significant role in promoting agricultural informatization and improving the level of agricultural modernization.

Many factories usually can’t use the production scheduling plan generated by some software directly, such as ERP and MES. Two main reasons are founded, one is the fixed parameter and data used in the planning and scheduling process; the other one is lack of Ability to respond to the dynamic production environment. This paper tries to improve the plan by using the dynamic information feedback and experience from workers, and a test states it is helpful in the daily work.

As the validity period of production data is short and data volume is big, a real-time data base is designed as the system database. Based on WEBGIS technique, Geographical Information System is designed, moreover, the production system, water flood system and power system are integrated into the system, thus laying foundations for production scheduling. Through analyzing real-time information stored in the database, early warning of well production and decision support can be provided for production managers, thus improving management level and promoting the coordinated development of the oilfield.
