PurposeWith ready access to search engines and social media platforms, the way people find image information has evolved and diversified in the past two decades. The purpose of this paper is to provide an overview of the literature on image information needs and behaviors.Design/methodology/approachFollowing an eight-step procedure for conducting systematic literature reviews, the paper presents an analysis of peer-reviewed work on image information needs and behaviors, with publications ranging from the years 1997 to 2019.FindingsApplication of the inclusion criteria led to 69 peer-reviewed works. These works were synthesized according to the following categories: research methods, users targeted, image types, identified needs, search behaviors and search obstacles. The reviewed studies show that people seek and use images for multiple reasons, including entertainment, illustration, aesthetic appreciation, knowledge construction, engagement, inspiration and social interactions. The reviewed studies also report that common strategies for image searches include keyword searches with short queries, browsing, specialization and reformulation. Observed trends suggest common deployment of query analysis, survey questionnaires and undergraduate participant pools to research image information needs and behavior.Originality/valueAt this point, after more than two decades of image information needs research, a holistic systematic review of the literature was long overdue. The way users find image information has evolved and diversified due to technological developments in image retrieval. By synthesizing this burgeoning field into specific foci, this systematic literature review provides a foundation for future empirical investigation. With this foundation set, the paper then pinpoints key research gaps to investigate, particularly the influence of user expertise, a need for more diverse population samples, a dearth of qualitative data, new search features and information and visual literacies instruction.

Abstract This article examines the consequences of extramarital pregnancy for women in late medieval France. Pregnancy outside marriage is typically thought of as a disaster for women and children alike and for their families. However, careful analysis of records of royal pardon, other legal and prescriptive sources, and a wide range of other materials all suggests otherwise. The article demonstrates that, at least for some single mothers in late medieval France, illicit pregnancy did not necessarily mean disaster at all. Pregnant women could help themselves, and were helped by others. All this has important implications for our understanding of the regulation of sexuality and reproduction in late medieval France, and of the role of mercy in medieval justice.

Ministry of Health estimates there are 9,000 pregnant women HIV positive who give birth every year in Indonesia. HIV-positive pregnant women must get Anti Retroviral treatment with a minimum level adherence to the use of anti-retroviral drugs of 90 - 95% drug to get a response to suppresing the virus by 85% . Physiological changes during pregnancy and breastfeeding can affects the drug kinetics in pregnant and lactating women. In children, non-compliance can be caused by saturation, limited drug preparation for children, side effects and other diseases that accompany it. In this article, we will analyze the extent to which pharmacists act as counselors for HIV-AIDS treatment for mothers and children. Data were taken from 2 qualitative studies, namely Implementation Study of Prevention of mother-to-child transmission (PMTCT) Program at HIV-AIDS Referral Hospital in West Java Province in 2014 and Study on Access of HIV-AIDS and Opportunistic Infection Treatment for Children in Ten Districts of Indonesia in 2015. Data collection was carried out by in-depth interviews with pharmacists and doctors who handled pregnant women and children with HIV-AIDS. Data were analyzed using triangulation and content analysis method. The results showed that pharmacists had not been involved as drug counselors and support from the management of the hospitals did not yet exist, so the pharmacist could not yet as a counselor as a form of pharmaceutical services according to standards set by the government Therefore, the role of pharmacist as counselor needs to be improved, because the success of the treatment is highly dependent on the successful collaboration of doctors, nurses, and pharmacists. In order for the pharmacists play a role, it is necessary to get training on HIV-AIDS treatment. In addition, the government needs to advocate for hospital management to facilitate the pharmacist’s counseling as form of counselor.
