AbstractThe high-end equipment represented by high-end machine tools and aero-engines is the core component of the national intelligent manufacturing plan, and the mass unbalance is the main reason for its excessive vibration, that seriously impacts the operation efficiency and running life of the equipment. In order to change the traditional way that the fault of equipment can only be repaired by human, the self-recovery mechanism of human and animal are given to the equipment in this paper, which forms the self-recovery regulation (SR) system for unbalance vibration of high-end equipment. The system can online generate the self-recovery force to restrain the unbalance vibration of the equipment in operation, which is an important direction for the development of the equipment to the advanced intelligent stage. Based on the basic principles of SR technique, the typical engineering application cases of this technique in the field of aeroengine and high-end machine tools are introduced, and four related studies promoting the development of this technique are summarized and analyzed in turn. It includes feature extraction, imbalance location, regulation method and balancing actuator. Self-recovery Regulation (SR) Technique is an important way to realize intelligent manufacturing and intelligent maintenance. Relevant research can lay a technical foundation for the development of high-end equipment with self-health function.

This article describes a method to design a self-learning maintenance library. The benefit derived from the intelligence of those systems refers to the right choice of maintenance measures at the right time and the enhancement of the whole wear margin. The results are part of the Collaborative Research Centre 653: Gentelligent components in their lifecycle – Utilization of inheritable component information in product engineering.

Quick Return Mechanisms (QRMs) are one of the essential accessories used in machine tools which involve reciprocating cutting action with a quick return stroke and a constant angular velocity of driving crank. The aim of this work was to simulate, design and construct a prototype of a QRM that can be used for demonstration and instrumentation. The QRM was simulated using Solidworks and a prototype was developed from the simulated results. The experiment was conducted using the prototype. The kinematic simulation of the Solidworks model was compared with the kinematics of motion of the prototype. The result showed that the Percentage Stroke Length error was 0.36%. It was observed that, there was no significant difference in the simulated and experimental results, hence, the prototype can be used for demonstration and experimentation to assist students in understanding basic principles of the machine operation.

Self-noise is an important specification of hydrophone with preamplifier. This paper presents the modelling, measurement and optimization of the self-noise of hydrophone with preamplifier. Through analyzing various noise sources of hydrophone and its preamplifier, an effective self-noise model of hydrophone with preamplifier was established, and the self-noise was mainly affected by the hydrophone quality factor, preamplifier noise and thermal noise of preamplifier input resistance. In order to measure the self-noise of hydrophone with preamplifier, a measurement system was constructed and used for measuring the self-noise of a RHSA30 hydrophone which manufactured by Hangzhou Applied Acoustics Research Institute (HAARI) and has a typical sensitivity of -173 dB. After optimization of the self-noise of RHSA30 hydrophone, the measured equivalent noise pressure spectral density level was close to 30 dB at the frequency of 1000 Hz. The measurement results proved that the preamplifier current noise which mainly coming from the Operational Amplifier played a leading role at low frequencies of hydrophone with preamplifier. And some basic principles for self-noise optimization of hydrophone with preamplifier were given at the end.

Abstract In this paper, a new exponential formed vertical distribution of nearshore flow velocity is constructed, which is simpler in form and more suitable for engineering application. The physical meaning of the new formula is more specific than that of Soulsby. Compared with those logarithmic formed ones, the new one does not need the maximum velocity and only needs the mean velocity in vertical, which gives it better engineering practicability. Apply the new formula to Jiangsu coastal area and compare the results with that of Soulsby whose results show the new formula agrees better with the measured flow velocity, which reasonably reflects the basic principles of vertical distribution of flow velocity.

The Electric Differential Control for Motor-Wheel-Drive Electric Vehicle is discussed. And then the self-regulation method to realize the electric differential by controlling the torque of the motor and freeing the speed of the wheels has been proposed. Firstly, tire-road dynamics modeling has been established, Control system of Motor-Wheel-Drive Electric Vehicle has been designed. Secondly, simulation platform of Motor-Wheel-Drive Electric Vehicle has been established. Lastly, simulation for electric differential control of Motor-Wheel-Drive Electric Vehicle has been validated. The simulation results show that the self-regulation method by controlling the torque of the motor and freeing the speed of the wheels is effective. Each wheel speed and the corresponding wheel speed automatically keep coordination; it can realize the self-regulation differential, no wheel slipping or sliding phenomenon.
