Abstract The article presents a method for assessment of availability and risk functioning of technical objects (transport means) in an executive subsystem. Indexes of the availability and risk connected with functioning of a single technical object have been determined on the basis of a mathematical model of the operation and maintenance process, in the studied transportation system. A Mathematical model of the operation and maintenance process has been developed with acceptance of an assumption that the process model is to be represented by a homogeneous Markov model X(t).

In this paper a new contactless transport system for thin, flat products, such as glass substrates and silicon wafers, is introduced. The transport function is realized using viscous traction on the product surface. After an explanation of the operating principles, a mathematical model is presented. Preliminary computations indicate that the generated acceleration is approximately 2.5 m/s2 for a glass substrate with a surface area of 2 m2 and a thickness of 0.7 mm. Furthermore, the vertical bearing stiffness for the considered actuator geometry of the system is 4.2·106 N/m, depending on the properties of the inflow and outflow points of the actuator cells.

The publication proposes a functional diagram of the connection of the air navigation system to the unified transport system as a subsystem for providing air transportation. This paper consists an analysis of the transport system development factors: goals and principles of building an air navigation system; activities of the trust and alliance in the domestic air transportation market; the need to determine the catchment areas of transport infrastructures. The main result of this publication is the concept of air navigation system development. It is given the concept of mathematical model indicators connection of air navigation system. The list of indicators is given, table “Proposed and real goals of the air navigation system”, figure – ‘Network indicator structure’.

Background: Walking as a parent mode of transportation has received little or no attention regarding planning, design, and development, thereby leading to chaotic outcomes when it comes to controlling and future estimation in most sub-Saharan Africa countries. This necessitated the research on the pertinent factors and variables that affect walking as a means of transportation in the study area, a semi-urban industrial cluster in South-Western Nigeria. Methods: One Thousand five hundred (1500) information cards were distributed for seven months. This was done to accumulate information on trip patterns, modal split, walk trip volume and so on. The data obtained was analysed using SPSS version 23. Results: The result revealed that 53.2% of the respondent engages in a walk trip every day either to access mode, access sub-mode or for recreation purposes. The commercial zone showed the highest percentage of walk trips of 40%. The mathematical model showed that age and walk trips are inversely proportional. Based on the result of the analysis, cost, safety and exercise are the primary reason why people engage in a walking trip. The R2 value of 0.83 established the robustness of the model. Conclusion: The created model can be utilized for anticipating the future modular part by inputting anticipated future estimation of exploratory variables, which will also aid the planning of a better transport system for the locality. The lack of essential infrastructure poses a big problem for the utilisation of this mode of transportation.

Mechanical models of a transport system “carriage - track” while crossing a joint irregularity are proposed. An investigation was conducted on the peculiarities of static, shock and dynamic interaction between the four-axle car and the track, considering tram wheelsets motion features over joint irregularity. A method to solve the equations of a mathematical model of static, shock and dynamic interaction is developed. Numerical analysis is used to determine deflections of the facing rail under the first sleeper for each phase of motion depending on motion phases, and car load and speed.

The analysis of government policy documents conducted by the authors allowed to establish that the Russian Federation Transport System Development Strategy until 2020, developed back in 2004, does not have a comprehensive and detailed toolkit for the implementation of all the goals and objectives presented in it, in particular, there are no current models of management decision-making at the Russian transport system development in a “smart city. The authors found that the effective management of traffic in a “smart city” should provide load transport network on the brink of its capacity and to maintain a continuous uniform motion, including the relatively low speeds, and increase the level of social development. This formulation of the problem proposed by the authors is fundamentally changing the construction of transport management systems, control algorithms and thus the model on which they are based, are not needed “smart city.” Thus, the authors of the article developed a mathematical model for evaluating the efficiency of transport interchanges in the general system of transport development in the Russian Federation, taking into account the requirements of the “smart city” concept and the growing social effect.
