Frequency responses of mineral insulated thermocouples are investigated in sodium by a new method which uses a random temperature field generated by the action of turbulence. This forms the basis for a comparison with the frequency response measured in room temperature, water, and the deduction of time constants for the thermocouples in sodium.

Because of lacking a rigid method of setting the initial nodal temperature on the joint face, the accuracy of temperature simulation would be affected in concrete dam. Based on finite element method (FEM) and principle of thermal conversation, we validate and extend a new method of setting the initial nodal temperature on the joint face in this paper. The result of temperature field simulation shows that this method has good accuracy in three-dimension temperature field simulation.

Water pipe cooling is mainly used to control temperature in the construction of mass concrete structures. It is important to reveal how to accurately stimulate the temperature field of mass concrete under action of this water pipe cooling. This paper presents a new method for this purpose. In this method, the contact surface of the water pipe and the concrete is used as the heat dissipation surface into the control equation and the composite Multiquadrics radial basis function (MQ-RBF) and low-order linear polynomial combination are used to discrete the spatial domain. The heat dissipation surface of the water pipe is included in the boundary conditions so that there is no need to build the refined water pipe modeling. This new method not only reduces the calculation cost but also ensures calculation accuracy. Through four calculation examples, this paper show that the algorithm has advantages in the numerical simulation of the concrete temperature field with water pipe cooling.

The dressing on line of diamond grinding wheels used in NC optical curve grinding machines are very difficult. A method has been researched in this paper that is dressing the diamond grinding wheels by a diamond pen aided with laser beam preheating . Its principle has been stated. The temperature mathematics model of laser beam preheating diamond grinding wheels has been set up. The temperature field of resin substrate diamond grinding wheels has been calculated. Through the analyses on the results of the temperature field, it has been known that the distance between laser beam preheating central and the diamond pen dressing point be very small. A new method that is delived laser beam by optical fiber in dressing on line of diamond grinding wheels by a diamond pen aided with laser beam preheating has be proposed. Uasing this new method, a high precision and high efficiency in dressing diamond grinding wheels on line can be fulfiled.

Investigations which require electron microscope examination of a few specific areas of non-homogeneous tissues make random sampling of small blocks an inefficient and unrewarding procedure. Therefore, several investigators have devised methods which allow obtaining sample blocks for electron microscopy from region of tissue previously identified by light microscopy of present here techniques which make possible: 1) sampling tissue for electron microscopy from selected areas previously identified by light microscopy of relatively large pieces of tissue; 2) dehydration and embedding large numbers of individually identified blocks while keeping each one separate; 3) a new method of maintaining specific orientation of blocks during embedding; 4) special light microscopic staining or fluorescent procedures and electron microscopy on immediately adjacent small areas of tissue.

On account of its high brightness, the field emission electron source has the advantage that it provides the conventional electron microscope with highly coherent illuminating system and that it directly improves the, resolving power of the scanning electron microscope. The present authors have reported some results obtained with a 100 kV field emission electron microscope.It has been proven, furthermore, that the tungsten emitter as a temperature field emission source can be utilized with a sufficient stability under a modest vacuum of 10-8 ~ 10-9 Torr. The present paper is concerned with an extension of our study on the characteristics of the temperature field emitters.
