The problem of perinatal morbidity in case of insufficiently high fertility in Russia is one of the most relevant at the monent. The leading cause of perinatal morbidity and mortality continue to remain hypoxic-ischemic brain damage the fetus and newborn. Ischemic-hypoxic damage of the central nervous system (CNS) is the most dangerous and prognostic significance. They often fatal and takes a leading role in the future of children and maladjustment of severe disabling diseases. Introduction of innovative medical technologies in health care practice greatly enhances the study of the causes of many diseases and abnormalities in newborns and helps to clarify the etiology, pathogenetic mechanisms, clinical and morphological structure, as well as typical for different gestational age localization of brain damage. It is shown that the generalized disorder of lipid metabolism with the development membranodestruktive processes is closely correlated with the severity of hypoxic-ischemic lesions of the central nervous system. It was found that infants who underwent antenatal and / or intranatal hypoxia, there are significant transformation of lipid metabolism lead to changes in the composition of lipids of blood plasma and red blood cells (with the accumulation level of chaotropic fractions phospholipid bilayer membranes of red blood cells - Lizoform phospholipids and free fatty acids). The necessity inclusion complex therapy consequences of perinatal hypoxia drugs, which have antioxidant, antihypoxic activity and the ability to regulate lipid metabolism.

The physiology and the pathology of the Central Nervous System (CNS) is very complex, and only by understanding it the scientific research might develop effective treatments. Neurocognitive Disorders, extremely diffused diseases, have a multifactorial aetiology, in which lipid homeostasis plays an important role, as known. The aim of this mini-review is focus on interesting recently published researches on the topic, in order to put together some pieces of the puzzle of such an enormous physiopathology chapter. After a brief introduction, we will describe important aspects of CNS lipid metabolism, then we will examine the conclusions of recent articles relating to lipid role in neurodegeneration. The recent scientific literature has strengthened the position of some well-known “biological agents” – i.e. lipid peroxidation and apolipoprotein E4 allele –but also detailed the importance of new promising diagnostic and therapeutic targets.

AbstractPeritumoral cysts are commonly detected in the central nervous system tumors, especially hemangioblastomas (HBs). However, the molecular mechanisms driving their formation and propagation are still unknown. We conducted an integrated lipidomics and transcriptomics analysis on solid and cystic HB samples in order to elucidate the changes in the lipid profile and expression of lipid metabolism-related genes during cyst formation. Transcriptomic analysis revealed differential expression of several genes between the solid and cystic HBs, and those associated with lipid metabolism, such as ADCY4, MGLL, ACOT2, DGKG, SHC1 and LPAR2, were markedly dysregulated in the cystic HBs. The lipidomic analysis further showed a significant reduction in the abundance of triacylglycerol, ceramide, lysophosphatidylcholine and lysophosphatidylethanolamine, and an increase in phosphatidylcholine and phosphatidylethanolamine levels in the cystic HBs. Furthermore, bioinformatics analysis revealed altered lipid biosynthesis, glycerophospholipid metabolism and phospholipase activity in the cystic HBs. Taken together, our findings indicate that cyst formation in HBs is related with aberrant lipid metabolism.

Review of publications on the functional features of leptin in the central nervous system in children. The participation of leptin mechanisms in the transmission of nerve impulses, the effect of leptin on cognitive functions in children. The article reveals the general mechanisms of maturation of the central nervous system in children, the participation of leptin and leptin receptors in the formation of cognitive abilities in children. Possible interrelationships of impairments in cognitive development and lipid metabolism including obesity are revealed.
