Corrosion of bridge pier columns in saline soil environment is inevitable, resulting in a gradual decrease in seismic yield displacement. In this study, 10 reinforced concrete bridge pier columns were fabricated, and seismic yield displacement in the saline soil environment was studied. Electrochemical corrosion tests and low-cycle repeated loading tests were carried out. The axial compression ratio and corrosion rate are the main parameters considered in this article. The seismic yield displacement test value of the pier column is determined based on the energy method. Using the static method, the theoretical expression of the earthquake yield displacement is derived. According to our results, when the corrosion rate is constant, the axial compression ratio is within a certain range, and the seismic yield displacement of the pier increases with the increase in the axial compression ratio. Similarly, when the axial compression ratio is constant, the seismic yield displacement decreases as the corrosion rate increases. By comparing experimental results with calculation results, our mathematical expressions have been shown to be effective in predicting seismic yield displacements of pier columns at different times in saline soil environments.

Aiming at the problem of salt corrosion of concrete used in bridge and foundation in the salted areas of Qinghai province in our country,we study the performance of the prevention of salts corrosion and anti-freeze durability of concrete itself and concrete daubed waterproof materials outside or mixed the materials inside. The high-performance concrete made in this article used waterproof materials to prevent brine penetration and set multi-channel protection. The high-performance concrete specimens for comparison, the specimens daubed waterproof material, and rhe specimens mixed waterproof material inside are made to study the changing regularity under single factor and double factors(freeze and melt + chemical attack, carbonize + freeze and melt). The research results show the high-performance concrete made in this article has good anti-freeze durability and the protective covering of waterproof material can form multi-channel protection and effectively slow frozen corrosion of the concrete.

In this paper, under the environment of saline soil in the western region of Jilin Province, a series tests research on the durability of concrete has been made. The test results show that: there are a lot of factors that influence the durability of concrete, including the concrete itself internal factors and the external environmental factors. The correlation degrees between these influence factors and the durability of concrete are uncertain. In this paper, a grey correlation degree method has been used to analyze the correlation degrees between these influence factors and the dynamic elastic modulus loss rates of concrete, in order to determine the influence degree of each factor on the durability of concrete.

In the Cholistan Desert, 0.44 million hectares are salt - affected low lying and clayey in nature locally known as 'dhars', where rainwater as well as saline groundwater could be utilized for growing salt tolerant grasses like Leptochloa fusca as forage during summer. L. fusca is a promising candidate grass for economic utilization and better management of sodic, high pH, saline soil and saline water resources of the Cholistan desert. L. fusca is known to be a versatile, halophytic, primary colonizer, easily propagatable, perennial, nutritive and palatable forage plant species. The grass has the good biomass producing potential and can grow equally well both under upland and submerged saline soil environment.
