The article discusses the issues associated with developing strategic project decisions in the field of rural tourism based on effective business models. Business models development of investment projects in rural tourism is an integral part of investment planning of tourist areas and development of investment proposals. The structure of the investment proposals at the macro level consists of investment declaration of a rural settlement, investment passport of a rural settlement, which includes the list of investment sites and projects, draft agreements with potential investors. Macro level of investment proposals presented by business plan, feasibility study or investment project passport. The content of these documents is determined by a business model that is used to describe the basic principles of design, development and successful project implementation. The article describes the key elements of a business model, considers a stepwise development algorithm, and determines interconnection between the content of its key elements and strategic project decisions for the development of tourist areas of rural settlement. The authors analyze the main types of business models, most widespread in the Russian Federation: "Cooperation", "Specialization", "Diversification" and examine the key risks associated with the implementation and promotion of tourist products. The business model is an effective tool not only for the formation of a unique value proposition and determination of principles of construction and development of a successful project, but also for the development of investment decisions at micro-level that meet the investment policy and socio-economic development strategies of rural settlement in general. Within the framework of the development of investment proposals, which are mainly the result of investment planning of territories, optimum ratio (interconnection) should be defined between strategic project decisions at macro-level and key elements of the business model of a particular investment project.

Despite market volatility in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic and a decline in global investment flows to 2005 levels, sustainable development funds continued to grow. These data indicate a change in development vectors: now leading investors are guided by technologies for sustainable growth. The purpose of this paper is to determine the optimal model for evaluating investment projects in terms of their economic and environmental effects on the development of the region. The proposed technique is being tested for an investment project aimed at developing the production of mobile phones in Europe. As shown, the analysis of the location of the production of smartphones in Europe for subsequent implementation in the European market has a number of advantages and is more beneficial in terms of environmental and economic effects for the region. First, from an economic point of view, this leads to an increase in the volume of attracted investments, a decrease in operating costs for international logistics, the creation of new jobs and qualifications for the population. In addition, it is important to be able to actively implement circular business models that will reuse lithium-ion phone batteries, which will lead to a decrease in the need for cobalt as a raw material, as well as lead to an increase in the level of recycling of e-waste and the circularity of the European economy. Also, such investment projects open up great opportunities for manufacturers from a marketing point of view, creating bonuses for a positive image and preferences for a “local green producer”.

The cluster approach is currently being implemented not only in relation to large-scale investment tourism projects of federal significance, but also is currently being applieв at the regional and local levels. Demand for cluster approach in tourism has increased significantly with the introduction of the Federal Target Program "Development of domestic and inbound tourism in the Russian Federation 2011-2018". Scientific research allowed to determine the nature and to assess the prospects for such kinds of local tourism clusters as border (cross-border), creative industries, etc. Rural tourism refers to activities that tend to cluster formation. The geographical concentration of tourism actors around the subject of rural tourism promotes cross-sectoral integration processes. Development of rural tourism, particularly dynamic in recent decades, is accompanied by the diversification of the organizational forms of economic activity. The development of tourist service technologies, the emergence of innovation in equipment, changes in consumer preferences and motivation - all this contributes to the looking for ways to optimize existing and development of new business models of rural tourism. The article shows that three business models have been traditionally used in rural tourism: concentrated, integrated and distributed business models. Their formation was determined primarily by trends in socio-economic development of rural areas and employment in them. But today, possibility of rural recreation cannot be fully realized in their framework. Moreover, a growing rural tourism clustering causes formation of other business models. The author offers two new business model of rural tourism, taking into account current trends of demand and the development of innovative technologies of tourism services (network and resource models) that are important in the formation of a cluster of rural tourism.

Introduction. This case study examines the economic justification for the implementation of a circular economy. The case study is structured in 2 parts. The first part describes the principles of circular economy and business models, covering the theoretical basis of this study. The theoretical basis includes a description of the principles of circular economy and the possible implementation of these principles in business operations. The second part evaluates the impact of the introduction of circular economy principles and business model on the company's financial performance and company value. The methods used are economic evaluation and investment decision methods and financial analysis, modeling and forecasting. The limitations are the research based on one company and the fact that the financial statement for 2019 was not submitted at the time of writing; however the results obtained are applicable to other companies and industries. The principles of circular economics and business models described in this case study can serve as a example for companies considering implementing the principles of circular economy in business operations. Aim and tasks. The purpose of the study is to determine what the principles of circular economy are, how to implement them in business and how their implementation affects business results and company value. Following tasks have been defined in order to achieve the aim: describe the principles of circular economy, business and financing models; to analyze the business models of the circular economy in Latvia and in the world and to evaluate the impact of the implementation of the principles of circular economy and business model on the company's financial indicators and the company's value. Results. Evaluating the investments made by the company AS “Cēsu Alus” and the planned investment projects related to the modernization of production equipment and improvement of efficiency, it can be concluded that the implementation of circular economy investment projects will be profitable. The company has opportunities to continue the investment project program; moreover, based on the experience of similar companies studied, AS “Cēsu Alus” can create additional revenue streams for the company when adopting circular economy principles. Conclusions. Investing the company's funds in investment projects designed to improve the company's efficiency, ensuring resource savings and efficient use, which in turn leads to financial savings, the company's value increases significantly, thus concluding that circular economy investment projects that save resources and improve the efficiency of the company will make the greatest contribution to increasing the value of the company.

The term ?business model' has recently attracted increased attention in the context of financial reporting and was formally introduced into the IFRS literature when IFRS 9 Financial Instruments was published in November 2009. However, IFRS 9 did not fully define the term ‘business model'. Furthermore, the literature on business models is quite diverse. It has been conducted in largely isolated fashion; therefore, no generally accepted definition of ?business model' has emerged. Therefore, a better understanding of the notion itself should be developed before further investigating its potential role within financial reporting. The aim of this paper is to highlight some of the perceived key themes and to identify other bases for grouping/organizing the literature based on business models. The contributions this paper makes to the literature are twofold: first, it complements previous review papers on business models; second, it contains a clear position on the distinction between the notions of the business model and strategy, which many authors identify as a key element in better explaining and communicating the notion of the business model. In this author's opinion, the term ‘strategy' is a dynamic and forward-looking notion, a sort of directional roadmap for future courses of action, whereas, ‘business model' is a more static notion, reflecting the conceptualisation of the company's underlying core business logic. The conclusion contains the author's thoughts on the role of the business model in financial reporting.

Subject. This article explores the economic relations of economic entities concerning effective investment activities, combining elements of investment control and assessment of related risk. Objectives. The article aims to analyze and logically substantiate the stages and types of investment activities of enterprises and investment projects in-progress, as well as define a methodological approach to assessing project risks. Methods. For the study, we used a structural and logical analysis, and deductive reasoning. The methodological base of the study is based on the principles of the theory of finance, investment and risk management. Results. The article defines stages of assessing the financial condition of enterprises and proposes a methodological approach to assessing certain risks of an investment project based on the risk ranking by degree of probability and significance of an event through applying the expert assessment method. The article also presents a practice-oriented risk map for investment projects and clarifies the concept of Investment Control. Conclusions. The results of the study can help address the significant for the Russian economy issue of stimulating and developing investment activities at enterprises, as well as implementing and evaluating the effectiveness of investment projects at the micro-and macro-levels of the country's economy.

This article summarizes the concept of sharing, bibliographic analysis of publications in the field of car-sharing based on the Scopus database. The primary purpose of the study is to study the economic and legal basis for the development of car-sharing business models in Ukraine. Systematization of literature sources and approaches devoted to the economic efficiency of the implementation of car-sharing business models has shown that in Ukraine, this issue is almost not paid attention to in the economic, scientific sphere, and legal, scientific areas. The urgency of solving this scientific problem lies in the need and ability to relieve road traffic from traffic jams, reducing the average downtime of vehicles, as well as economic benefits for entities (vehicle owners and passengers) involved in sharing business models. The research has the following logical sequence: the types of car-sharing business models were analyzed, and their comparative characteristics were carried out; the economic and legal preconditions of car-sharing business development in Ukraine are investigated. The research identifies legislative obstacles to the establishment of a car-sharing company in Ukraine. A SWOT analysis of the conditions for implementing a car-sharing business model in Ukraine was performed. It analyses the costs and efficiency of creating a business based on a car-sharing business model in Ukraine on a conditional example. We propose to use system-structural and comparative analysis to analyze the problems of modern transport, methods of formal-logical analysis for determining the directions of development of car-sharing business models, and economic method for assessing the effect and a payback period of the proposed project car-sharing business model. The study results can be useful for the development of the car-sharing business in Ukraine, for entrepreneurs, scientists, and vehicle owners. The global tourism reality is changing, and not only because of the COVID-19 pandemic. This reality is especially representative in countries such as Spain, which are highly dependent on the income generated by the tourism sector. In these destinations, it is necessary to seek innovation and specialization in the sector in order to achieve new business models. This need is even more pressing in destinations overcrowded by the sun and beach effect, as is the case of Mallorca. The proposed work combines the concepts of sports tourism with the development of a wealth-generating business model that will contribute to promoting a tourism that is sustainable, environmentally friendly and deseasonalized. On the other hand, the proposed work will contribute to promoting integration and equality in the participation of women in sports through the development of a model based on the promotion of women’s football. Using the methodology of case analysis, the results of all the approaches outlined are provided, and we obtained a wealth-generation model that is easily replicable and sustainable over time. This work provides a solution to the combination of a sustainable business model that links responsible tourism, the promotion of women’s sport and the generation of wealth.

AbstractIn times of increasing concerns and extensive political debates about social and environmental problems, incumbent firms are obliged to reduce their negative environmental impact by implementing sustainable business model innovation. Yet, realizing more sustainable business model variants entails several complexities and associated challenges that need to be overcome. To support this task, this article takes an entrepreneurship perspective on sustainable business model innovation and combines literature of business models and entrepreneurial lean thinking (ELT). In doing so, it derives a workshop design grounded in contemporary theory with state-of-the-art tools and methods. The workshop is framed as a stage-gate process facilitating the notions of ELT with iterative cycles of ‘create, test, and improve’ and spans the phases of opportunity identification, opportunity evaluation, opportunity development through sustainable business model design, and decision of opportunity exploitation. The article shows that ELT is an appropriate yet underutilized approach for sustainable business modeling. Further, it discusses how the workshop supports opportunities and mitigate pitfalls of ELT for sustainable business modeling. As such, the findings have theoretical implications for the intersection of sustainability and lean approaches in innovation research as well as implications for practitioners by providing a comprehensive framework to support sustainable business model innovation.
