O presente relato de experiência visa destacar a vivência dos autores na construção do Projeto Cuidadosamente em uma universidade privada localizada no município do Rio de Janeiro. Objetiva-se com esse estudo apontar a sua inserção prática, bem como, retratar a importância de um projeto desta magnitude no cuidado à saúde psíquica dos acadêmicos de enfermagem, principalmente no contexto atual de isolamento social pela pandemia de COVID-19. Conclui-se que a ação possibilita a construção de uma rede de apoio entre os próprios colegas de classe que estão experenciando as mesmas dificuldades com esse isolamento social e ameniza situações que possam maximizar ou desencadear algum tipo de transtorno mental, a exemplo de ansiedade e depressão, através de uma escuta qualificada, que é atribuição importante do enfermeiro nos diferentes níveis de assistência. Building the Project Mindfully: reflection on the mental health of nursing students in front of COVID-19The present experience report aims to highlight the authors’ experience in the construction of the Project Mindfully in a private university located in the city of Rio de Janeiro. The objective of this study is to point out its practical insertion, as well as, to portray the importance of a project of this magnitude in the care of the psychic health of nursing students, especially in the current context of social isolation by the pandemic of COVID-19. It is concluded that the action makes it possible to build a support network among the classmates themselves who are experiencing the same difficulties with this social isolation and alleviates situations that can maximize or trigger some type of mental disorder, such as anxiety and depression, through qualified listening, which is an important role of nurses at different levels of care.

More than 150 cities around the world have expanded emergency cycling and walking infrastructure to increase their resilience in the face of the COVID 19 pandemic. This tendency toward walking has led it to becoming the predominant daily mode of transport that also contributes to significant changes in the relationships between the hierarchy of walking needs and walking behaviour. These changes need to be addressed in order to increase the resilience of walking environments in the face of such a pandemic. This study was designed as a theoretical and empirical literature review seeking to improve the walking behaviour in relation to the hierarchy of walking needs within the current context of COVID-19. Accordingly, the interrelationship between the main aspects relating to walking-in the context of the pandemic- and the different levels in the hierarchy of walking needs were discussed. Results are presented in five sections of “density, crowding and stress during walking”, “sense of comfort/discomfort and stress in regard to crowded spaces during walking experiences”, “crowded spaces as insecure public spaces and the contribution of the type of urban configuration”, “role of motivational/restorative factors during walking trips to reduce the overload of stress and improve mental health”, and “urban design interventions on arrangement of visual sequences during walking”.

One of the main results of the processes related to urbanization is the contamination of the adjacent water bodies. Inserted in this context, the Rodrigo de Freitas lagoon is situated in the south zone of the city of Rio de Janeiro. This ecosystem receives several inputs containing all sorts of pollutants, including heavy metals. The present work aimed to study the partitioning of heavy metals in the sediments of Rodrigo de Freitas and the influence of organic matter in this fractionation dynamic. The results of these analyses presented the contents of organic matter as an important metal-capturing agent. Fractionation of organic matter resulted in a predominance of humine. Heavy metal partitioning showed that the metals bound by the water-soluble phase have no significant concentrations. Special features such as, reducing sediment, high levels of organic matter and fine grain size have transformed this ecosystem in an effective deposit of pollutants, where heavy metals are not available in easily reactive fractions.

Trata-se de uma investigação sobre as condições e qualidade de vida. De caráter quantitativo do tipo descritivo e exploratório, objetivou conhecer, avaliar e descrever o perfil de estudantes em enfermagem de uma universidade privada de ensino superior. Num processo de escolha aleatória foram sujeitos da pesquisa oitenta alunos de enfermagem matriculados no primeiro, segundo, terceiro e quartos anos de graduação do período matutino e noturno. Os dados foram coletados durante os meses de agosto e setembro de 2006, utilizando um questionário com quinze perguntas fechadas e objetivas, referentes à caracterização da população abrangendo vários aspectos sociodemográficos. Os dados foram analisados estatisticamente, tabulados e apresentados em tabelas. Sugere-se o incentivo na comunidade acadêmica quanto à promoção e educação em saúde. Desta forma, reduzir-se-á os indicadores de morbidade, maus hábitos e sedentarismo relacionado com a população acadêmica, futuros educadores e profissionais de saúde.Descritores: Qualidade de Vida, Estudantes, Enfermagem. Quality of life: profile of nursing students in a private university in the city of São PauloAbstract: This is a research about the conditions and quality of life. This study wants to examine whether motivation affects the organizational commitment of lecturers. The population is a Lecturer in Management Study Program of a private university in the city of Bandung. The total sample of 50 Management Study Program Lecturers is taken randomly. Data was collected by means of a survey using a questionnaire. Furthermore, the data is processed using a simple linear regression method to find out and analyze the effect of motivation on the organizational commitment of lecturers. It is hoped that the results of this research can increase the motivation of lecturers, which in turn can increase the organizational commitment of lecturers. The results showed that motivation has a positive and significant influence on organizational commitment of Management Study Program lecturers in Bandung.

This essay traces a parallel between the series “Museu do Homem Diagonal,” created in 2013 by Brazilian artist Renata Lucas in Rio de Janeiro, and Conical Intersect, created in 1975 by American artist Gordon Matta-Clark in Paris. Despite their different contexts, both artists responded to the ongoing urban transformations through the creation of a dialogue between their work, the changing surroundings, and the city dwellers. By analyzing how the artists evoked displacement and memory through urban interventions, this essay highlights the role of art in questioning the transitory nature of cities and its ability to imagine alternative scenarios.

e4526152This interview with Professor Miguel G. Arroyo was carried out on the left side shores of the Xingu River, in Altamira (PA), in July (2th) 2019. The interview occurred during his participation in the 1st Academic Ethnodiversity Conference (JAETNO) at Universidade Federal do Pará (UFPA), Brazil. Arroyo was impressed with the city of Altamira and spoke strictly about the national context we are experiencing at the moment: From the perspective of concrete historical factors, attacks on human sciences, and education, specifically attacks towards childhood. The purpose of this study was to examine the role of organizational commitment in mediating the relationship between budgetary participation and managerial performance in academic officials at private universities in Bandung. This type of research is explanatory research. The sample in this study was 132 private university officials in the city of Bandung. In this study, the data collection method was a questionnaire, and the data analysis used in this study was simple linear regression analysis. The results show that. Budget participation, organizational commitment, and managerial performance are in a suitable category and positively affect. While organizational commitment can mediate the relationship between budgetary participation and managerial performance, one of the commitment dimensions does not affect, namely, continuity commitment.

This paper reports some of the issues raised by field research conducted in the official video surveillance system in public spaces that is operated by the Military Police on behalf of the Rio de Janeiro State Department of Public Security. The research was conducted at the Command and Control Center (CCC), where the images from all the cameras in the police battalions are brought together and at the police batallion at Copacabana (19thBPM), the first area at the city where surveillance cameras were installed. This system is treated as a sociotechnical network, formed by the interaction of individuals and technological elements, further increasing the importance of an observation from two different levels of this network. Special attention is drawed on what I called “the paradox of the caught in-the-act surveillance scenes”, dilemma emerged around the conflict between the work of surveillance and the aesthetics of surveillance, and also on a main videosurveillance problem: (human and/or technical) overdetermination.

ABSTRACT In this paper the author introduces graffiti in Rio de Janeiro as a method for creative activism, drawing on scholarly work and her experience since 2015 as a graffiti writer. Combining these elements, the author demystifies graffiti and untangles the multiple prejudices attached to this peripheral artistic culture. Locating graffiti within its roots in Hip Hop culture and drawing upon the memories and experiences of seven graffiti artists she introduces theories of memory and knowledge production to analyze the role of graffiti in constructing and deconstructing the city and its culture. The artists in this paper recount stories of how gender, race, and class have structured Brazilian graffiti and the reactions that it provokes, constructing a storyline stretching from the 1990s until today, a registry of knowledges about the culture of the city which have been constructed through an art which is always and already a form of activism from the periphery.
