Tor fish is a potential local fish. It has social, economic and religious value and contains albumin which is equivalent to snake head fish. As a local fish cultivation potential, an accurate description of the early development stages of this species, will have value for ichthyologists and can facilitate cultivation efforts to increase production. This study aims to understand the embryology of three tor fish species and to determine the condition of larval performance at the beginning of hatching. The division process begins when the cell nucleus is divided into 2 blastomers, then continues to reach 32 cells in the first 10 hours after fertilization. At 10–20 hours after fertilization the eggs enter the morula, blastula and gastrula phases. After 20 hours, the organogenesis stage occurs. Tor douronensis hatched the fastest, more than 100 hours after fertilization (0.70–0.80 cm length, 0.0073 g weight and 8.40±1.83% abnormality). Tor soro over 120 hours (length 0.80–0.90 cm, weight 0.0125 g and abnormality 2.47±0.12%) and Tor tambroides above 140 hours after fertilization (length 1,00–1,09 cm, weight 0,0146 g and abnormality 2.93±0.31%). It can be concluded that there is no difference in the process of embryogenesis of the three species until the gastrula stage. The difference arises in the organogenesis phase, where the Tor douronensis organ develops most rapidly, followed by Tor soro and Tor tambroides.

Summary Triploidization plays an important role in aquaculture and surrogate technologies. In this study, we induced triploidy in the matrinxã fish (Brycon amazonicus) using a heat-shock technique. Embryos at 2 min post fertilization (mpf) were heat shocked at 38°C, 40°C, or 42°C for 2 min. Untreated, intact embryos were used as a control. Survival rates during early development were monitored and ploidy status was confirmed using flow cytometry and nuclear diameter analysis of erythrocytes. The hatching rate reduced with heat-shock treatment, and heat-shock treatments at 42°C resulted in no hatching events. Optimal results were obtained at 40°C with 95% of larvae exhibiting triploidy. Therefore, we report that heat-shock treatments of embryos (2 mpf) at 40°C for 2 min is an effective way to induce triploid individuals in B. amazonicus.

Abstract Abstract The Malays, Chinese and Indian community in Malaysia have been homogenized since British colonialism. The existence of Indian Muslims’ identity caused a new paradigm shift in Malaysia involving the racial discussion. This paper traces the difference in Indian Muslims’ identities from Indian and the Hindus. I argued that Indian Muslims share Islam as their religion and faith, while maintaining a Malay way of life and custom in their daily practices. In Malaysia, the Indian Muslim community struggled to place their future in terms of social, economic allocation and political justification among the other communities. However, the strength of ethnic politics clearly charted out their involvement in the political base and moved them to fight for their cause and rights. Hence, today’s Indian Muslim community has caused an Islamic resurgence, which has brought a new Indian dimension as a whole.

Arab Writers and poets had a great knowledge of Elim-ul Badea (البديع علم ,( Before Islam. Elm-ul Badea (البديع علم (can be found extensively both in their poetry and prose. With the advent of Islam and the revelation of Quran (a literal Miracle of Allah Al-Mighty), rhetoric has reached to its peak, which made it the center of attention for the Writers and intellectuals. They have made their researches of Quran from different angles, i.e. the lexicon miracles, literal interpretation, style and rhetoric of the Holy Book, but Elm-ul- Badea (البديع )علم is such a part of literature which is always open for more research, so this research focuses on the Moral enhancers (المعنوية المحسنات (which is a part of the Elm-ul-Badea in the Quran. This work will throw light on those verses of Quran in which Moral enhancers(المعنوية المحسنات (are present, and are defined as rhetorical explanations beside the definition of Elm-ul-Badea, its development stages, and the difference of opinion among the scholars about the topic. Quran is the Holy Book of Allah Al-Mighty and is the Miracle of the Holy prophet Muhammad peace be upon Him, which challenged the whole world to bring verses like it, and it appeals the human being to think in its meanings. I tried to explore the المعنوية المحسنات of Quranic rhetoric. There is a great scope for researchers to explore the Moral enhancers المعنوية المحسنات of Quranic Rhetoric. I have used descriptive and analytical approach while doing this research to attain the required results.

The uptake of water by haploid and diploid sibling embryos of Xenopus laevis has been investigated by measuring the density changes which occur during the development of intact embryos from the blastula to the late tail-bud stage, and of explants from which most of the presumptive endoderm has been removed. The results show that up to the mid-gastrula stage there is no difference between the haploid and diploid embryos; but from then on, whereas the diploid volume increases steadily, the haploid gastrulae undergo a series of cyclical volume changes due to loss of fluid through the blastopore. It is concluded that this is the result of an excessive inflow of water through the haploid ectoderm, because it was found that the volume of haploid ectodermal explants increased much more rapidly than the volume of similar diploid explants. Excess flow through the haploid ectoderm also accounts for other characteristics of the haploid syndrome – microcephaly and lordosis. It is suggested that it is the doubling of the cell number in haploid embryos with the consequent 25% increase in aggregate cell membrane area which accounts for the difference between the uptake of water by the two types of embryos. It is also suggested that changes in the rate of water flow through the ectoderm and endoderm which are thought to account for the accumulation of water in the blastocoel and archenteron in the normal diploid embryo arise in a similar way.

This chapter discusses the argument of Sections 28–32 of G.E.M. Anscombe’s Intention. It begins by relating Anscombe’s thesis that intentional action is known without observation to Wittgenstein’s discussion in the Blue Book of the knowledge of oneself “as subject” and Anscombe’s discussion in “The First Person” of unmediated self-knowledge. Following this, the chapter explores the difficulties that herself Anscombe raises for her thesis, and considers her reasons for thinking that the scope of an agent’s non-observational self-knowledge is not limited to her interior states or immediate bodily movements. Finally, it considers how the difficulties that Anscombe has raised are supposed to be addressed by her discussion of how descriptions of one’s intentional action can be contradicted, and of the difference between a list that has the role of an order and one whose role is to provide an accurate description of some facts.

This issue provides a perspective on emerging, transformative technologies that promise to create innovations that are intended to provide solutions for significant problems in the biopharma and broader healthcare market.  Many of these technologies have been evolving over the years, but remain in their early development stages technologically. As with most transformative innovations, they come with a host of lengthy and expensive challenges associated with development and validation. And, implementation of transformative business models that are at least as challenging as commercializing the technologies themselves.
