Abstract The paper describes preliminary examinations on establishing usefulness criteria of foundry tooling materials in the microwave heating technology. Presented are measurement results of permittivity and loss tangent that determine behaviour of the materials in electromagnetic field. The measurements were carried-out in a waveguide resonant cavity that permits precise determination the above-mentioned parameters by perturbation technique. Examined were five different materials designed for use in foundry tooling. Determined was the loss factor that permits evaluating usefulness of materials in microwave heating technology. It was demonstrated that the selected plastics meet the basic criterion that is transparency for electromagnetic radiation.

The interferons (IFNs) are a group of proteins produced by cells of all vertebrate animals in response to a variety of stimuli. The ability to stimulate antiviral resistance, which was the first observed property of the IFNs, is still of great interest and remains the basic criterion by which the interferons are measured 1 (even into the most recent era of radioimmunoassay systems). It is the recent clinical uses of these substances as antineoplastic agents that has brought them to the attention of clinicians and the public in general. The IFN molecules exert their effects, much as hormones do, by attaching to specific receptors on other cells of the same species. Once attached, the IFNs induce cells to undergo a series of biochemical changes that renders them resistant to further virus propagation. To be an IFN, a substance must be a protein devoid of accompanying nucleic acid or endotoxin (both of which are interferon inducers). Treated cells must undergo de novo RNA and protein synthetic activity to acquire antiviral resistance.

Surveys performed nationwide show that mobile temporary accommodation camps are being manufactured by more than 200 specialized enterprises (without considering the minor manufacturers) acting under different ministries and agencies. According to the analysis performed, today 26 basic mobile structural systems consisting of 18 conveyor-type and 8 demountable-type systems are being used on a national basis. Today national manufacturers are producing more than 250 types of container-type buildings and facilities which differ in functionality, capacity, climatic category, price and other technical-and-economic indexes. Use of mobile accommodation complexes is characterized by certain advantages. Basic criterion for mobile accommodation camp construction consists in its timely commissioning. Basic predicted indexes affecting the cost of temporary accommodation camp could serve as an endorsement of the forwarded standpoint.

The rule of law, as stipulated in article 7 of the Constitution of the Republic of Poland, is one of the fundamental principles shaping the functioning of public administration in the Republic of Poland. Legality of the functioning of public administration is also accepted as the basic criterion of judicial and administrative review of the actions taken by the administration. However, judgments of administrative courts often go outside the boundaries of findings that could be made based on linguistic interpretation of legislative provisions, by referring to the rules of the legal system, including in cases where no doubts exist with regards to the interpretation of provisions. The aim of this paper is to offer insight into the basis and nature of doubts encountered with regards to the admissibility of the use of non-linguistic interpretation by administrative courts where the use of such interpretation does not appear to be required.

The current practice in the field of anodic oxidation of aluminium and its alloys is based mainly on a set of partial empirical experiences of technologists obtained during surface treatment. The aim of the presented paper is deeper and more complex identification of the influence of chemical and technological factors acting during the anodic oxidation process especially on the thickness of the formed surface layer by the electrolysis method in a sulfuric acid solution. The current density was selected as the basic criterion for verification evaluation and analysis of experimentally obtained data, in accordance with Faraday’s laws. For current densities of 1 to 5 A·dm−2, the synergy of significant influence factors was identified, and mathematical and statistical models were then developed to predict the thickness of the surface layer with a relative accuracy of up to 10%. The presented paper does not only focus on the observation of the thickness of the surface layer desired by the customer, but also on the monitoring of this thickness in relation to the overall layer thickness of the coating.

Argues for using the ministry of Jesus as a basic criterion for understanding and evaluating one's own notion of ministry. Treats the issue of authority as central to ministry. Characterizes Jesus' ministry as possessing certain qualities, including those of human concern, being in touch with feelings, and having a strong relational mode. These same characteristics are present in contemporary psychotherapeutic projects where they are called empathy, warmth, and genuineness.

Abstract This paper provides an analysis of modality in Spanish Sign Language (Lengua de Signos Española: LSE) from a functional perspective. Following FDG assumptions, scope will be the basic criterion in delineating modal subtypes. Four representational layers are taken into account: Propositional Content, Episode, State-of-Affairs, and Configurational Property. This study highlights that LSE offers an extensive sample of manual items (with a variable degree of grammaticalization) that enable the efficient expression of a wide range of modal contents: epistemic, deontic, volitive, and facultative. LSE is thus fully congruent with oral languages (OLs) in this domain.
