Comparison of geotourism assessment models: and experiment in Bakony–Balaton UNSECO Global Geopark, Hungary

Abstract Geological and scenic values of locations are the non-living curiosities that can be preserved and popularized a lot easier using the institutional background of geotourism, such as geoparks. UNESCO Global Geoparks Network is responsible for protecting and fostering natural, scenic and cultural values and especially geosites that are the exciting visible physical elements. Our goal was to quantify the geotourism potential around Csopak, a scenic village in the Balaton Uplands giving home for the headquarter of the Bakony-Balaton UNESCO Global Geopark. After designating 216 potential geosites using topographic and geological maps, we applied two assessment models: the Geosite Assessment Model (GAM) and the Modified Geosite Assessment Model (M-GAM). GAM has been applied with good results in Hungary on different areas, but M-GAM has not been used before. As M-GAM involves tourists into the process counting with their opinion, it may give a more realistic view of the geosites. The two methods produced different but comparable final values of geotourism potential counted from the Main Value and Additional Value scores. We discovered that the proportion of the difference of these values carries major information. The ratio of ΔAV/ΔMV used as linear functions and depicted on diagrams can derive which values are more important for the visitors. From this result we can draw conclusions about the future development trends: scientific or infrastructural values should be more effectively fostered. Using our results, geosites can be handled and developed as visitors expect it.

The Zaruma-Portovelo mining district in Ecuador, and in particular, Portovelo City, is home to the oldest mining museum in the country. This museum, named Museo Mineralógico Magner Turner (MMMT in Spanish), is a centre that reflects, through its collections, the history and culture of this territory. This work aimed to evaluate the MMMT as a possible geosite by analysing its contributions to the geomining heritage of the Zaruma-Portovelo district, and thus, to enhance it and promote its collections as a geotouristic attraction. The work involved three phases: (i) describing the museum and its surroundings; (ii) a semiquantitative evaluation of the museum using the Brilha method and a geosites assessment model (GAM); and (iii) a qualitative evaluation using the Delphi and SWOT methodologies to define strategies and proposals for museum development. The results obtained by the semiquantitative evaluation of the geosite with the Brilha method reflect high scientific (330/400), educational (380/400) and touristic (365/400) appeal. The applied GAM shows the museum as a geosite with high principal and additional value, placing it in the Z33 field of the global valuation matrix. In addition, the semiquantitative and qualitative evaluation made it possible to describe the importance of the museum and its collections in the development of the area. The study carried out qualified the museum as a mining site with an appropriate valuation, an example of ex-situ geological heritage conservation and a basis for geotourism development.

Background:Venous thromboembolism (VTE) includes thrombotic disease of venous system, but primarily includes lower extremity deep vein thrombosis (DVT) and pulmonary embolism (PE). Population-based epidemiological studies have shown an association between systemic autoimmune diseases and VTE[1]. The Padua prediction score(PPS) is a new 20-point risk assessment model proposed by Professor Barbar et al[2] in 2010. A large number of researches have shown that low serum albumin concentration is associated with an increased risk of VTE [3],but there is a lack of studies on serum albumin in VTE, and there are no reports on PPS in rheumatology inpatients.Objectives:To investigate the status of VTE in patients in the department of rheumatology, and to explore the value of PPS combined with serum albumin in the identification of VTE in this patient population.Methods:Baseline data of inpatients in rheumatology department were collected at Sichuan Provincial People’s Hospital from September 2018 to September 2020. Occurrence of VTE was compared between high and low risk groups. PPSs were analyzed in VTE and non-VTE patients. Multivariate logistic regression was used to analyze the independent risk factors of VTE. The receiver operating characteristic curve was used to evaluate the probablity of value of rheumatic inpatients with VTE assessed by PPS,serum albumin and PPS with serum albumin. P<0.05 indicates that the difference was statistically significant.Results:A total of 2282 patients were included in this study, and 50(2.2%) had symptomatic VTE. Among the symptomatic VTE cases,38(1.6%) had DVT only,8(0.4%) had PE only, and 4(0.2%) were diagnosed with DVT and PE. PPSs in VTE and non-VTE groups were 3.00(2.00~6.00) and2.00(1.00~2.00) respectively (P< 0.05). One hundred and eighty-eight cases was divided into high-risk group of VTE (PPS≥4), while 2094 cases (PPS<4) were in the low-risk group. Logistic regression analysis showed that known thrombophilic condition, history of VTE, reduced mobility, and D-dimer were independent risk factors of VTE in rheumatology patients, the odd ration(OR) values were 161.90, 26.08, 8.73,and1.04. Serum albumin was the independent protection factor [OR= 0.92(95%CI:0.87~0.98)]. The AUC of PPS model, serum albumin model and the combined predictive model were 0.77, 0.75, 0.84, respectively. The difference between the combined prediction model and PPS model was statistically significant (Z=3.813, P<0.05). The optimal sensitivity of PPS and serum albumin models is 60%, 82%, respectively, and the optimal specificity of is 82.5%,58.6%, respectively. The combination model corresponds to a sensitivity of 62% and a specificity of 90.4%.Conclusion:The incidence of symptomatic VTE was relatively higher in hospitalized patients in rheumatology department. Serum albumin was the protective factor. Self-stigma is a salient concept in mental health care. Consequences of self-stigma include increased morbidity and decreased engagement with the health care system. Cultural factors may affect self-stigma and its consequences. This article utilizes the Giger and Davidhizar transcultural assessment model to explore veteran culture and self-stigma. Veterans have their own cultural values that can affect nursing care. Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom veterans are seeking care in community settings more often than within the VA system; therefore, all nurses should be aware of the cultural needs of veterans including the impact of self-stigma.

<p><strong>Abstract.</strong> We applied a computation method of calculating the sky view factor (SVF) using Google Street View to Shibuya area, Tokyo, for the purpose of examining the relation between the SVF/SVF change and physical elements. The distribution of the SVF calculated by the above method was visualized, and the statistical process showed the tendency of a high SVF in quasi-residential districts and roadsides of high-graded trunk roads. The difference in the SVF change was small at 10-m intervals. The SVF change tended to be more apparent near an intersection and at different elevations.</p>

Cultural Values Urang Banjar research has not been done. This study refers to the dimension of cultural values being addressed Troompenaar. According Troompenaar cultural values have seven dimensions: individualism - Communitarism, specifik Relationship - Diffuse relationship, Universalism - Particularism, Neutral Relationship - Emotional Relationship, Achivemenent - ascription, Sequential time - Synchoronous time, and the Environment. Results of research conducted Troompenaar in Indonesia, indicating Indonesia is in the category Communitarism, Diffuse relationship, Particularism, Neutral Relationship, ascription, Synchoronous Time and Outter Direction. This study uses primary data collected through questionnaires which had been prepared previously by the indicators Troompenar dimensions of cultural values. The total sample was 192 people. The research focuses on is the Banjar, and its relation to the cultural values of Banjar. The conclusion of this research are (1) The value of Banjar culture included in the category of universalism with a percentage of 78.13 percent, Komunitariasme with the percentage of 79.17 percent, with the percentage Emotional 73, Specification with the percentage of 54.17 percent, with the percentage of 76.04 percent Achievement, synchronous with the percentage of 69, 79 percent, and Outter direction with the percentage of 83.33 percent; (2) There was a difference or shift in cultural values in society Banjar with Indonesian cultural values, from particularism into Universalism, from Neutral became Emotional, of Diffuse be Specific, and of ascription becomes Achievement; (3) The difference in the value of Indonesian culture and cultural values Urang Banjar indicate that changes people's lives, especially people Banjar ongoing and will never stop, because no one masyarakatpun that stops at a certain point all time. The difference or shift in cultural values that occurred in Banjar Urang an ongoing process of social change in society Banjar.

To provide a better understanding of the central mechanisms by which pulmonary afferents reflexly control breathing, the responses of single respiratory neurons to vagal afferent patterns were analyzed. Respiratory-related unit (RRU) recordings were obtained from inspiratory (I), expiratory (E), and phase-spanning neurons in the ventral medulla of halothane-anesthetized, paralyzed, ventilated, vagotomized, mongrel dogs. Electrical stimulation of the largest vagal fibers was used to reflexly alter I and E durations (TI and TE) and to present various temporal input patterns to RRU. The net response was quantified by taking the difference between cycle-triggered histograms (CTH) of activity obtained during an input and the spontaneous control (no input) CTH. For step frequency patterns confined to either the I or E phase, 127 responses in 41 neurons were analyzed. The average step response time was greater than 500 ms. In general the time courses of the control and test-input discharge patterns were linearly related to one another. For I neurons the slopes (beta) of these relationships were linear functions of the vagal step frequency (Fv). Linear relationships were also obtained for 1/TI vs. Fv and 1/beta vs. TI. These results suggest that the vagal control of the discharge patterns of these neurons and phase timing is mediated via a process similar to gain modulation.

Abstract In polygynous mammals, females are expected to bias maternal investment in favor of male calves. The mother should invest more in males to enhance their reproductive success in adulthood, or the males require greater investment as they are bigger and stronger than females. In this study, we used nursing duration to compare the difference in the amount of maternal investment provided by females. We compared differences according to sex of the offspring and the influence of calves’ identification by sniffing, using captive giraffes (Giraffa camelopardalis) as a model. Since a high intensity of allonursing (nursing of a nonfilial calf) was reported in giraffes, we also focused on the difference between filial and nonfilial calves. We observed 22 nursing females and 47 suckling calves in four zoological gardens in the Czech Republic from 2007 to 2011. Nursing duration was longer for male calves than for female calves and for calves sniffed by the nursing female regardless whether the calves were filial or nonfilial. We conclude that male calves are more demanding for the amount of investment received and they are more successful in this effort than female calves. Since females provided investment in the same way to filial and nonfilial calves, selection for higher demand for investment by male than by female offspring should be important for their future development. Our results also demonstrate the importance of sniffing for the identification of the suckling calf by the female.
