Abstract Measurement of growth performances in fish is carried out in stressful and unnatural environment. The purpose of the present investigation was to compare the effect of four different water-borne anesthetic agents. The fish (Ave. wt. 400.3±7.12 g) were divided into four groups in the glass tanks (80×48×30 cm) containing 80 L of dechlorinated bore water. For the first group we used clove oil (CO) and anesthetic agents used for other three groups were as follows: second group- lidocaine 1% (LC), III groupisoflourane (IF), IV group-halothane (HT). During experiment, water quality parameters (to, pH, О2, and NO3) were recorded. The desired concentration of anesthetics was established andinduction time, maintenance and recovery time were recorded. In two groups out of four (LC and HT) time of induction was longer approximately with 1 minute and time of recovery was shorter with 30 seconds in comparison with other two groups (CO and IF) where the time for both was 3 minutes. It could be concluded that the anesthetic time for each of the protocols used was about 4-5 minutes and allowed to measure the growth performance. An effective and safe agent is 1% lidocaine used as a water-based anesthetic at 100 mg.L-1. Isoflurane can be used with caution in small carp because there is a risk of overdose. We recommend the anesthetic clove oil protocol.

This study aimed to analyze the size of shell length, shell width and total weight of Pinctada margaritifera shells, and water quality parameters for the aquaculture development. Morphometric measurements include: shell length (PC), and shell width (LC), shell weight (BT). The results showed that PC size 8 - 11.99 cm, LC 8 - 9.99 cm and BT 80 - 99.99 gram dominate the Arakan waters  while PC size 6 - 9.99 cm, LC 6 - 7.99 cm and BT 60 - 79.99 gram dominate the Bahoi  waters. The results of water quality measurements in both locations are Bahoi waters, namely: 29-32oC, DO 7-8,5 mg/l, pH 7,8-7,9, salinity, 28-32 ppt, 4,5- 7 meters, 11 cm/sec. While in Arakan waters, the temperature was 30-30,8oC, DO 6,3-6,7 mg/l, pH 7,6-7,7 salinity 30 ppt, brightness 4-5 meter, current velocity 4,5 cm / second. This research aims to determine the most effective concentration of clove oil and the best period in the transportation of swordtail (Xiphophorius helleri) with the highest survival rate. This research used the factorial randomized block design (FRBD) which consisting of four treatments of concentration (10 x 10-3 mL, 13 x 10-3 mL, 16 x 10-3 mL), three treatments of duration (3 hours, 5 hours, 7 hours), and repeated three times. The measured parameters are induction time, conscious recovery time, and survival rate after transportation. The results showed that the treatment of 10 x 10-3 mL with the duration of 5 hours was an effective treatment with an average induction time of 17 minutes 56 seconds, a conscious recovery time of 7 minutes 37 seconds, the survival rate of 100% at post-transportation and after 7 days of rearing is 83%. Water quality after transportation are temperature (24.6 ℃), DO (14.72 mg / L), pH (6.42) and ammonia (0.0043 mg/L).

In Indonesia, the use of such recirculating aquaculture systems (RAS) is rapidly increasing. The purpose of this study was to investigate the growth, blood chemistry, and water quality of snakehead fish (C. striata) maintained in RAS at varied stocking densities. The RAS was established at the Bogor-based Research Institute for Freshwater Aquaculture and Fisheries Extension. The study employed a completely randomized study using 3 various densities: A). 1 individual L-1, B). 3 individual L-1 and c). 6 individuals L-1, each using three replications. The average weight and length of snakehead fish used is 1.50±0.63 g and 6.20±0.94 cm. Growth performances such as survival rate, weight, and length gain, food conversion ratio, specific growth rate, and final biomass were observed during the research. Blood chemistry parameters analyzed were blood glucose, triglycerides, and total protein. The water quality characteristics were evaluated: pH, temperature, dissolved oxygen, total ammonia nitrogen, nitrate, nitrite, and orthophosphate. The analysis indicates that snakehead fish's growth performances and blood chemistry parameters differed considerably (P<0.05) across all density treatments, with 3 individual L-1 showing the best growth performances. The RAS utilized in snakehead fish culture kept the water quality parameters steady throughout the study.

This study was conducted to assess the growth performances of cage reared GIFT strain of tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) fingerling using length-weight (LW) relationship technique. Along with this, condition factor (K) of fish and   pond water quality parameters were also brought under this study to have broader understanding. For LW  relationship and K, a sample size of 120 fingerlings was made from randomly selected three different cages in a pond  at Tarala village in Kaharole Upazila of Dinajpur District, Bangladesh. The length-weight relationship of tilapia  fingerlings reared in cages managed by Adivasi people was significant. The value of correlation coefficient (r) and the coefficient of determination (r2) were 0.97 and 0.94 respectively. This suggests that growth of tilapia from fry to  fingerling was normal in cages. The condition factor of different size group of fish was almost closed to 2, indicating  fish health as satisfactory. All the water quality parameters including temperature, transparency, dissolved oxygen,ammonia-nitrogen, phosphate-phosphorus, nitrate-nitrogen and pH were within suitable range both in cages and  outside the cage in pond. About 5 phyla and 25 genera of phytoplankton from Bacillariophyceae, Cyanophyceae, Chlorophyceae, Euglenophyceae and Rhodophyceae groups and one phylum and 5 genera of zooplankton from Rotifera group were found in cage installed in ponds. These all indicate the growth of tilapia fingerling in cages was satisfactory which was technically sound for landless adivasi households.   DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.3329/jbau.v10i1.12107   J. The article concerns the monitoring of selected sources (monitored a total of 10 springs, presented the results of 5 springs) administered by the Forests of the city of Brno in the northern district of Brno-county, describing their current state, including the evaluation of selected water quality parameters. The basis of the study was to measure basic water quality parameters (water temperature, pH, oxygen and measuring the rate of flow of water in springs) and sampling for laboratory analysis. The values obtained were tabulated and graphically evaluated and compared with values in accordance with Decree no. 252/2004 Coll., which lay down the hygienic requirements for drinking water. Based on the measured values charts and graphs were compiled, and the water quality of the individual strands were assessed. The overall condition of wells and their surroundings is described in detail and assessed.

Water borne diseases continue to be a dominant cause of water borne morbidities and mortality all over the world. Hence, drinking water needs to be protected from pollution and biological contamination. Ground water samples were collected from ten different sampling point in Rajajinagar area of Bangalore and analysed for water quality parameters viz. pH, total alkalinity, chloride, total dissolved solids, electrical conductivity, sodium, potassium, calcium, magnesium, dissolved oxygen, BOD, COD and total hardness. The pH value of the study area ranges between 7.3 to 8.4 indicating that ground water is slightly alkaline. The total alkalinity are varied in the range from 122 to 282 mg/l which is well within the limit prescribed by BIS. The TDS value found from 397 to 546 mg/l. The values of hardness of water ranges from 125 to 267 mg/l which is within the prescribed limit as per BIS.

A study was conducted to evaluate the water quality parameters of pond water at Mymensingh Urban region. The water samples were collected from 30 ponds located at Mymensingh Urban Region during August to October 2010. The chemical analyses of water samples included pH, EC, Na, K, Ca, S, Mn and As were done by standard methods. The chemical properties in pond water were found pH 6.68 to 7.14, EC 227 to 700 ?Scm-1, Na 15.57 to 36.00 ppm, K 3.83 to 16.16 ppm, Ca 2.01 to 7.29 ppm, S 1.61 to 4.67 ppm, Mn 0.33 to 0.684 ppm and As 0.0011 to 0.0059 ppm. The pH values of water samples revealed that water samples were acidic to slightly alkaline in nature. The EC value revealed that water samples were medium salinity except one sample and also good for irrigation. According to drinking water standard Mn toxicity was detected in pond water. Considering Na, Ca and S ions pond water was safe for irrigation and aquaculture. In case of K ion, all the samples were suitable for irrigation but unsuitable for aquaculture.J. Environ. The low level of water in rivers in Iraq leads to poor water quality, on that basis; we need to assess Iraq's water resources for uses of irrigation and drinking water. This study present a model accounts for ground water quality by using a water quality index (WQI) for the region defined between the city of Kut and the city of Badra in Wasit province. this study relies on a system of wells set up along the path through the Badra –Kut  and around it  up to 78 wells. The study showed poor quality of ground water in the region of study and it is unsuitability for irrigation and drinking water, as well as provided a solution to the water accumulated in the Shuwayja to reduce the bad effect on groundwater by using a system of branch and collection canals  then pumping at the effluent  of Al  Shuwayja in seasons of rainy season ..Water quality index calculated depend on the basis of various physic-chemical parameters as PH, Ec , TDS, TSS, Nacl , SO4 ,Na , and  Mg. The resultant and analytical are present with use of Arch GIS program – geostastical analysis for the water index and water quality parameters

Monitoring of environmental factors allows the achievement of some important objectives regarding water quality, forecasting, warning and intervention. The aim of this paper is to investigate water quality parameters in some potential pollutant sources from northern, southern and east-southern areas of Romania. Surface water quality data for some selected chemical parameters were collected and analyzed at different points from March to May 2017.
