Abstract In this paper numerical analysis considering the influence of dynamical force acting on wall made of concrete blocks with rubber inserts is presented. By examining the stress values on front and back surface of the analysed wall structure model, the effectiveness of proposed solution can be measured comparing to the wall made of concrete blocks without rubber inserts. Complete numerical analysis was performed in ADINA program.

A reduced-scale model of 7-story reinforced concrete shear wall structure is made. Shaking-table test of the model is carried out. Two test conditions are considered. In the first condition, fixed base is used. In another condition, soil structure interaction is considered. According to the experimental results, the dynamic characteristic and seismic performance of shear wall structure is studied. The acceleration time history response of model structure is obtained. Based on the time-history response, the dynamic characteristics of model structure are studied by spectrum analysis. The Finite Element Model of actural structure is established by ANSYS. The dynamic characteristics and seismic performance of actural structure are studied. By comparing the experiment results and numerical analysis results under the fixed-base condition, the rationality of the ANSYS model and numerical analysis method of are verified.

It is desired instead of welding to develop a mechanical connector, which may work well to connect two units at the site in spite of circumstances of some extent of relative motions between two units caused by waves. One of the authors proposed a new type of mechanical connector, which is based on an idea of three bodies problem instead of usual mechanical connectors (two bodies problem). In this paper, wave exciting tests of a semisubmersible floating structure model with the proposed mechanical connectors of 1/100 scale and the numerical analysis using hydroelastic response analysis program VODAC are carried out and wave response characteristics of the semisubmersible floating structure model with the mechanical connectors and its feasibility are reported.

Many frame-supported masonry shear-wall structures were observed severely damage in Wenchuan Earthquake. In this paper, an inter-story isolation system is implemented in such structures to mitigate the hazard of the earthquake. The mechanism of the mixed system is demonstrated by theoretical and numerical analysis. And it is concluded that the mass ratio, the below-stiffness ratio, the yield shear of isolated layer and the up-stiffness ratio are the main parameters whose effects are discussed separately. For the design convenience, a set of fitting equations of these parameters are provided.

The impact of temperature stress cannot be ignored in actual project. Single-frame shear wall structure of two-dimensional plane has been simplified in this paper. Fixed point of displacement under the influence of the temperature is determined in structure. Model for Calculating is given. Temperature stress of frame - shear wall cast plate is found by matrix method.

As a kind of pollution-free and sustainable energy, solar energy has received people’s favor increasingly. Integration of solar power and architecture has become one of the important ways that people use solar energy. In this paper, numerical analysis of four frame-shear wall structure models on which PV panels are installed or not installed is conducted by ANSYS. The results show that integration of solar power and architecture meets the requirements of technical specification for concrete structures of tall building. But PV panels installed on the building surface will increase story displacement and produce stress and strain redistribution, which have negative effects on structural safety. This study provides a reference for the structure design of integration of solar power and architecture.
