<p>The objective of this study is to analyze the influence of audit committee characteristics and ownership structure on earnings management. The characteristics which are used to measure the effectiveness of the audit committee are audit committee independence, audit committee competency, audit committee activity and audit committee size. Ownership structures are characteristics of public ownership, institutional ownership, and managerial ownership. Earnings management in this study were measured by using the value of discretionary accrual. The population in this study is manufacturing companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (BEI) in 2007-2012. Based on purposive sampling method, the number of samples in this study was 66 samples. Testing the hypothesis used multiple regression analysis. The results indicate that audit committee independent, audit committee size and institutional ownership had a significant negative effect on earnings management. Instead the others variables such as audit committee competency, audit committee activity, public ownership and managerial ownership did not influenced on earnings management.</p>

The objective of this study is to analyze the influence of audit committee and institutional ownership on earnings management. The characteristics that used to measure the effectiveness of the audit committee competence,and audit committee activity. Institutional ownership is measured by the number of proportion of shares held by institutional shareholders divided by the number of shares issued. Earnings management in this study weremeasured by using the value of discretionary accrual. The population in this study is manufacturing companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (BEI) in 2007-2012. Based on purposive sampling method, the number of samples in this study of 300 samples. Testing the hypothesis using multiple regression analysis. The results of hypothesis testing indicate that audit committee competence and audit committee activity had a significant negative effect on earnings management. Instead institutional ownership had not influence on earnings management.

Objective – The purpose of this research is to analyze the effect of ownership structure toward earnings management. Methodology/Technique – The population of this research consist of manufacturing companies listed on the Indonesian Stock Exchange (IDX) from 2014 to 2016. This research uses 3 recent years and adds variables that have not been used in prior research. The sample of this research is chosen using a purposive sampling method. Findings – The hypothesis is tested by multiple regressions using an Eviews program to investigate the influence between each independent variable to earnings management. Novelty – The research results shows that institutional ownership, controlling ownership, and foreign ownership affect earnings management whilst managerial ownership has no effect on earnings management. Objective - The purpose of this research is to obtain empirical research on the effect of corporate governance on earnings management in distressed and non-distressed companies. Corporate governance in this research is measured by independent board, audit committee, board of commissioners, institutional ownership and number of board commissioner meetings. The research predicts that corporate governance has a negative effect on earnings management either both in distressed and non-distressed companies. Methodology/Technique - This research uses 309 manufacturing companies listed on the Indonesian Stock Exchange and the data was obtained using purposive sampling method during 2016 until 2018. Of the 309 respondents in the sample, 287 are distressed companies and 22 are non-distressed companies. The data was analyzed using a multiple regression method. Findings - The empirical results show that commissioner board and institutional ownership have a negative effect on earnings management in non-distressed companies but in distressed companies, corporate governance does not have an effect on earnings management. This research shows that distressed companies, corporate governance cannot minimize earnings management practices because to maintain the company as a going concern, management will do earnings management to ensure stakeholders’ trust to encourage further investment in the company. In non-distressed companies, corporate governance can minimize earnings management practices because the company is in a good financial condition, so they don’t need to do earnings management. Additionally, in order to ensure stakeholders’ trust, the company will strengthen its’ corporate governance mechanisms. Type of Paper: Empirical. JEL Classification: M41, M43, G34, J33, K22. The objective of this research is to obtain empirical evidence of board of independence, institutional ownership, board of size, managerial ownership, profitability, firm size, audit quality, audit committee, and leverage as independent variables to earnings management. Earning management as dependent variable in Indonesian manufacturing companies.The research period is three years from 2012-2014 and population in this research is all listed companies in Indonesian Stock Exchange. Samples are obtained through purposive sampling method, listed manufacturing companies in Indonesian manufacturing companies meet the sampling criteria, resulting 185 data. Multiple linear regressions is used as the data analysis method in this research.The result of this research shows that profitability,  firm size, audit quality, and leverage statistically have effect on the earningsmanagement. While other variables such as board of independence, institutional ownership, board of size, managerial ownership, and audit committee have no effect on earnings management.

The purpose of this study is to examine the effect of managerial ownership structure, institutional ownership structure and audit committee on earnings management with the proportion of independent board of commissioners as a moderating variable. The samples in this study are infrastructure, utility and transportation companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (BEI) 2009. -2018 6 companies were selected using purposive sampling method. The result of the multiple linear regression equation is Y = -0,827 + 0,007 X1 + 0,006 X2 + 0,121 X3 + 0,032 M + 0,006 X1.M + 0,011 X2.M - 0,675 X3.M. The results showed that ownership structure, institutional ownership structure, audit committee and the proportion of independent commissioners did not have a significant effect on partial earnings management. Based on the partially moderated regression analysis test, the proportion of independent board of commissioners cannot moderate the effect of managerial ownership structure on earnings management, the proportion of independent board of commissioners cannot moderate the effect of institutional ownership structure on earnings management, the proportion of independent board of commissioners cannot moderate the effect of the audit committee on earnings management and simultaneously the proportion of independent board of commissioners can moderate the influence of managerial ownership structure, institutional ownership structure and audit committee on earnings management.

The purpose of this study is to learn about the governance arrangements for earnings management in trading entities, and investment in the trade subsector on the Indonesia Stock Exchange in 2014-2018. Entity governance is organized into 3 variable compositions, institutional ownership, managerial ownership and audit committee. Earnings management variables were collected with discretionary accrual using the Jones model. Data collection method in this research is purposive sampling. The sample amounted to 27 entities that are part of 10 companies that are taken from the company in the trade, services and investment sectors with the retail trade subsector listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange in the period 2014-2018. The research method used is the multiple regression method to analyze the independent variables on the dependent variable. The results showed that corporate governance towards earnings management in this study stated by the T Test and F Test. The T Test results showed that institutional ownership and audit audits had significant effect on earnings management, managerial ownership variables showed no significant effect on earnings management. The results of the F Test research is the composition of institutional ownership, managerial ownership and the audit board together have a significant influence on earnings management.

His study discusses to analyze corporate governance, ownership structure and leverage to earning management. The research was conducted at mining companies in Indonesia Stock Exchange 2015-2018. The samples used as many as 29 companies from the population of 83 companies, through a purposive sampling method. The data collection is done by using the method of observation nonparticipant through the financial statemens. The analysis technique aapplied is a technique of multiple linier regression analysis. The results show that audit committee negative effect on earning management, the proportion of commissioners no effect on earning management, managerial ownership no effect on earning management, institutional ownership no effect on earning management and leverage negative effect on earning management.Keyword : audit committee, proportion of commissioners, managerial ownership, institutional ownership, leverage, earning management

The purpose of this study is to examine the effect of ownership structure on the firm performance of manufacturing companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX).  This research is a causative study. The population in this study are all manufacturing companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange for the period 2013-2018. This study uses secondary data published in the Indonesian Stock Exchange (IDX). Based on data collection, a sample of 75 companies from 144 listed manufacturing companies was obtained. The analytical method used is Multiple Regression using SPSS 24 data processing applications. The results of this study conclude (1) Family Ownership does not have a significant positive effect on firm performance (2) Managerial Ownership has a significant negative effect on firm performance (3) Institutional Ownership has a significant positive effect on firm performance (4) Foreign ownership does not have a significant positive effect on firm performance.  Keywords: Ownership structure, firm performance, Indonesia Stock Exchange.

When observing the major financial problems that were revealed, the public questioned the performance of the big companies involved in this scandal, which contradicts the principles of Good Corporate Governance regarding accountability, equity, integrity, transparency and responsibility. This study aims to determine, test and explain the effect of the audit committee, managerial ownership, institutional ownership, on Return On Assets both partially and jointly in the food and beverage sub-sector manufacturing companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange for the period 2014 to 2019. The sample was determined by purposive sampling. Data collection techniques using literature study and observation. The method used is multiple linear regression analysis. Based on the results of multiple linear analysis, it is found that Managerial ownership has a partial effect on ROA then Audit Committee Size and Institutional ownership partially have no effect on ROA, and simultaneously Audit Committee Size, Managerial Ownership and Institutional Ownership together have an effect on Return On Assets ( ROA).
