This research is conducted by the low mathematics critical thinking ability of students in junior high schools, especially in  VII grade .Students of VII grade commonly are transitioning from elementary school to junior high school could be a reason how low students of VII grade on mathematic critical thingking ability. The low ability mathematics critical thingking one of caused by mathematics anxiety. This study aims to find a relationship between math anxiety and mathematics critical thinking ability of VII grade at SMPN 5 Serang City. The method of this research is quantitative descriptive by making 110 students from VII grade as a sample. The data were collected using questionnaire and test. The result of this study indicate that 1) the ammount of correlation between math anxiety with critical thingking ability is -0,5991> rs table 0,1695, which means there is a significant and negative relationship between anxiety and critical thingking ability 2) the average of students’s mathematics critical thingking ability is different where score between students with low anxiety have a better score than student with mid anxiety and low anxiety,and students with mid anxiety have a better score than students with high anxiety, and students with mid anxiety have a better score than students with high anxiety.

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan mana yang lebih efektif antara PBL setting kolaboratif kelompok dan berpasangan ditinjau dari prestasi belajar aljabar, kemampuan berpikir kritis, dan kecemasan siswa. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian quasi eksperimen dengan desain pretest-postest nonequivalent comparison-group design. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas VII SMP Negeri 3 Kalasan yang terdiri dari empat kelas. Kelas VII C dan VII D ditentukan sebagai sampel secara acak. Dari kedua kelas tersebut diberi instrumen pretest dan postest tentang prestasi belajar aljabar, kemampuan berpikir kritis dan angket kecemasan siswa. Untuk menguji keefektifan pembelajaran digunakan uji one sample t-test. Untuk menguji perbedaan keefektifan digunakan uji MANOVA dan untuk mengetahui pembelajaran mana yang lebih efektif digunakan uji independent sample t-test. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan: (1) PBL seting kolaboratif kelompok maupun berpasangan masing-masing efektif ditinjau dari prestasi belajar aljabar, kemampuan berpikir kritis, dan kecemasan siswa, (2) PBL seting kolaboratif kelompok lebih efektif dibandingkan PBL seting kolaboratif berpasangan ditinjau dari prestasi belajar aljabar, namun tidak terdapat perbedaan keefektifan ditinjau dari kemampuan berpikir kritis dan kecemasan siswa. The effectiveness of PBL with collaborative setting in terms of algebraic achievement, critical thinking ability, and math anxiety AbstractThis study aimed to describe which was more effective between PBL with grouped collaborative setting or paired collaborative setting in terms of the algebraic achievement, critical thinking ability, and mathematics anxiety. This research was quasi-experimental with the pretest-posttest nonequivalent comparison-group design. The research population included all 7th grade students of SMP Negeri 3 Kalasan which consisted of four classes. Two classes were randomly established as the sample. Before and after the treatment, these two classes were given a pretest and posttest of algebraic achievements, critical thinking ability, and and questionnaire of math anxiety. To test the effectiveness of this study, the researcher used one sample t-test; to examine differences in the effectiveness, the researcher used MANOVA; to determine which learning model was more effective, the researcher used the independent sample t-test. The results of this study show that: (1) the PBL with grouped and paired collaborative setting were effective in terms of the algebraic achievements, critical thinking ability, and mathematics anxiety, (2) the PBL with grouped collaborative setting was more effective than that using the PBL with paired collaborative setting in terms of algebraic achievement, but no difference in the effectiveness in terms of critical thinking ability and math anxiety

Since Indonesian students’ critical thinking skills in junior high school is still in unexpected level, it should be improved through teaching and learning process. The objective of the study is finding out the influence of problem centered learning approach toward students’ mathematical critical thinking ability. Every student should have mathematical critical thinking skills to make mathematics lessons are easier. Using the critical thinking skills will help students improving problem solving skills. However, the current critical thinking ability of junior high school students is still low. This research used quasi experimental design with Static Group Comparation type. The research sample consisted of two classes with each class of 35 students. The research instrument consists of six questions which indicate a mathematical critical thinking ability. Data analysis of this study used the Mann-Whitney test. The results of the study indicate that there is an effect of the problem-centered learning approach on the students' mathematical critical thinking ability with testing criteria is high.

Abstract: This study was aimed to develop a set of integrated problem-based mathematics teaching kits implemented with ICT to improve the critical thinking ability of junior high school students. The study used 4-D learning device development model (define, design, develop, disseminate). The data were collected through the observation of the learning process and students' activity, students' questionnaire responses, and a critical thinking ability test. The findings showed that mathematics teaching materials consisting of teaching kits as a teachers’ handbook based on ICT integrated problem-based materials completed with lesson plans, worksheets, and the use of media learning were appropriate to use.Based on the test results conducted in the field, the teaching kits can enhance the students' critical thinking ability. The findings showed that the average gain in two schools was in the range of g> 0.7, which means that the students' critical thinking ability belonged to the high category, while that of the third school was in the range of 0.3  g  0.7 at 0.62 which means the students’ critical thinking ability belonged to the fair category. Keywords: learning device, information communication technology (ICT), critical thinking PERANGKAT PEMBELAJARAN MATEMATIKA BERBASIS MASALAH TERINTEGRASI ICT UNTUK MENINGKATKAN KEMAMPUAN BERPIKIR KRITIS SISWA SMP KOTA MEDAN Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan perangkat pembelajaran matematika berbasis masalah terintegrasi dengan ICT untuk meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa SMP. Penelitian menggunakan model pengembangan perangkat pembelajaran model 4-D (define, design, develop, disseminate). Data penelitian diperoleh melalui pengamatan proses pembelajaran dan aktivitas siswa, angket respon siswa, dan tes kemampuan berpikir kritis. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perangkat pembelajaran yang terdiri atas bahan ajar matematika sebagai buku pegangan guru berbasis masalah yang terintegrasi dengan ICT disertai RPP, LKS, dan media pembelajaran layak digunakan. Berdasarkan hasil uji coba di lapangan, perangkat pembelajaran tersebut dapat meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa rata-rata gain pada dua sekolah dimana sekolah pertama dan kedua didapat rentang g > 0,7 yang artinya kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa pada kategori tinggi, sedangkan pada sekolah yang ketiga rentang 0,3  g  0,7 yaitu 0,62 yang artinya kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa mengalami peningkatan pada kategori sedang. This study aimed to improve the students’ critical thinking ability through learning activities using a science e-magazine of socioscientific issues-based inquiry model on additive and addictive material. This study used a one-group pretest-posttest design. This study also investigated the validity, practicality, and effectiveness of the science e-magazine of socioscientific issues-based inquiry model on the students’ critical thinking abilities. Data collection techniques used validation, observation, and test. The average students’ critical thinking ability was seen from the overall n-gain score of 0.34 in moderate criteria. The data analysis technique was intended to find out the improvement of critical thinking using paired sample t-test with sig result that was 0.000, so that if H0 is rejected, it means there was an increase in the ability of critical thinking students on VIII A class at Junior High School 1 Pamekasan after the learning activities. Students’ responses and implementation were analyzed using descriptive analysis. E-magazine development was accompanied by the compiling of other learning tools such as syllabus, lesson plan, student worksheet, and critical thinking tests. E-magazine was saved in pdf format, making it easier for students to read them on smartphones or laptops. The average response of students to the learning activities was 80% and to the e-magazine was 80%.

The research sets to examine the influence of Problem Based Learning (PBL), critical thinking ability, and collaboration toward learning outcome of Christian Junior High School (SMPK) Stelamaris Biudukfoho. Quasi experiment using non-equivalent control group design is employed in this research. The first and the second experiment group are selected based on assignment random sampling. There are 60 subjects at the eighth grade of Junior High School in the academic year of 2018/2019. The researchers apply test to measure critical thinking ability and learning outcome, whereas questionnaire is employed to measure collaboration of the students. The data analysis is three-way analysis of variance. The results reveal that there is significant differentiation of learning outcome between a group using PBL and a group using conventional method, between the students with high and low critical thinking ability, between the students with high and low collaboration. In addition, there is significant interaction of learning model, critical thinking ability, and collaboration toward students’ learning outcome. It means that students’ learning outcome depends on the learning model, critical thinking ability, and collaboration of the students
