Too little procurement can lead to out of stock outs, that is, the situation in which the required pharmaceutical supply is empty so that demand cannot be met, in which case it causes a loss to the hospital. To avoid the occurrence of stock out it must be done ABC Analysis Critical Index so it can be known which drug becomes a priority. This study aims to analyze the planning and procurement of antibiotic drugs based on ABC analysis of Critical Index at Pharmacy Installation of Luwuk Regional Public Hospital by using qualitative and quantitative descriptive method. The results showed that of the 40 types of antibiotics in which 3 types of drugs (7.50%) were group A, 19 types of drugs (47.50%) were group B, and 18 types of drugs (45.00%) were included in group C. Using of this ABC Analysis Critical Index can help the hospital in planning the procurement of medicines by taking into account the value of usage, investment value, and drug criticality. Keywords: Planning, Procurement, ABC Analysis Critical Index, Antibiotic. ABSTRAK Pelayanan persediaan farmasi di rumah sakit harus dilakukan berdasarkan fungsi-fungsi dari manajemen logistik, salah satunya perencanaan dan pengadaan. Abstract Background The care of palliative patients takes place as non-specialized and specialized care, in both ambulatory and stationary settings. However, palliative care is largely provided as non-specialized care in the ambulatory sector (AAPV). This study aimed to investigate whether the survival curves of AAPV patients differed from those of the more intensive palliative care modalities and whether AAPV palliative care was appropriate in terms of timing. Methods The study is based on claims data from a large statutory health insurance. The analysis included 4,177 patients who received palliative care starting in 2015 and who were fully insured one year before and one year after palliative care or until death. The probability of survival was observed for 12 months. Patients were classified into group A, which consisted of patients who received palliative care only with AAPV, and group B including patients who received stationary or specialized ambulatory palliative care. Group A was further divided into two subgroups. Patients who received AAPV on only 1 day were assigned to Subgroup A1, and patients who received AAPV on two or more days were assigned to Subgroup A2. The survival analysis was carried out using Kaplan-Meier curves. The median survival times were compared with the log-rank test. Results The survival curves differed between groups A and B, except in the first quartile of the survival distribution. The median survival was significantly longer in group A (137 days, n=2,763) than in group B (47 days, n=1,424, p<0.0001) and shorter in group A1 (35 days, n=986) than in group A2 (217 days, n=1,767, p<0.0001). The survival rate during the 12-month follow-up was higher in group A (42%) than in group B (11%) and lower in group A1 (38%) than in group A2 (44%).Conclusions The results of the analysis revealed that patients who received the first palliative care shortly before death suspected insufficient care, especially patients who received AAPV for only 1 day and no further palliative care until death or 12-month follow-up. Palliative care should start as early as necessary and be continuous until the end of life.

Background: Labour dystocia is associated with a number of adverse maternal and neonatal outcomes. Augmentation of labour is a commonly used intervention in cases of labour dystocia. Misoprostol is an inexpensive and stable prostaglandin E1analogue. Present study was done to see the effectiveness of sublingual misoprostol for labour augmentation and foeto-maternal outcome. Methods: Total 100 labouring women of term gestation were taken and divided in two groups: group A (study group) and group B (control group). In study group 25mcg sublingual misoprostol given 4 hourly till adequate uterine contractions developed, i.e. >3 contractions in 10 minutes, each lasting for 40-45 seconds. A maximum of 200mcg of misoprostol or 8 doses were used and in group B no drug was given for augmentation of labour. Maternal and foetal outcome were observed in both groups. Results: Augmentation to delivery interval was very short in group A in comparison to group B. Maternal and foetal outcome were almost same in both groups. Conclusions: Sublingual misoprostol is a safe and effective drug for augmentation of labour leading to early delivery without any major side effects.
