ABSTRACT Pharmaceutical supply services in hospitals should be performed on the basis of the functions of logistics management, one of which is planning and procurement. Too little procurement can lead to out of stock outs, that is, the situation in which the required pharmaceutical supply is empty so that demand cannot be met, in which case it causes a loss to the hospital. To avoid the occurrence of stock out it must be done ABC Analysis Critical Index so it can be known which drug becomes a priority. This study aims to analyze the planning and procurement of antibiotic drugs based on ABC analysis of Critical Index at Pharmacy Installation of Luwuk Regional Public Hospital by using qualitative and quantitative descriptive method. The results showed that of the 40 types of antibiotics in which 3 types of drugs (7.50%) were group A, 19 types of drugs (47.50%) were group B, and 18 types of drugs (45.00%) were included in group C. Using of this ABC Analysis Critical Index can help the hospital in planning the procurement of medicines by taking into account the value of usage, investment value, and drug criticality. Keywords: Planning, Procurement, ABC Analysis Critical Index, Antibiotic. ABSTRAK Pelayanan persediaan farmasi di rumah sakit harus dilakukan berdasarkan fungsi-fungsi dari manajemen logistik, salah satunya perencanaan dan pengadaan. Background: Generally, a glenoid bone loss greater than 20% to 25% is considered critical for poor surgical outcomes after a soft tissue repair. However, recent studies have suggested that the critical value should be lower. Purpose: To determine the critical value of anterior glenoid bone loss that led to surgical failure in patients with anterior shoulder instability. Study Design: Case-control study; Level of evidence, 3. Methods: The study included 169 patients with anterior glenoid erosion. The percentage of glenoid erosion was calculated as the ratio of the glenoid loss width and the glenoid width to the diameter of the outer-fitting circle based on the inferior portion of the glenoid contour. The critical value of the glenoid bone loss was analyzed by means of receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve analysis. Patients were divided into 2 groups based on the amount of glenoid bone loss: group A (less than the critical value) and group B (more than the critical value). Patients evaluated their shoulder function as a percentage of their preinjury level using the Single Assessment Numeric Evaluation (SANE) score, and postoperative clinical outcomes were assessed with the American Shoulder and Elbow Surgeons (ASES) score and Rowe score. Surgical failure was defined as the need for revision surgery or the presence of subjective symptoms of instability. Results: The optimal critical value of glenoid bone loss was 17.3% (area under the curve = 0.82; 95% confidence interval, 0.73-0.91; P < .001; sensitivity 75%; specificity 86.6%). Group A and B contained 134 and 35 patients, respectively. Shoulder functional scores were significantly lower in group B than in group A ( P < .001). Five patients (3.7%) in group A and 15 (42.9%) in group B had surgical failure ( P < .001). The SANE score was significantly lower in group B (83.8 ± 12.1) than in group A (92.9 ± 4.7, P = .001). Conclusion: An anterior glenoid bone loss of 17.3% or more with respect to the longest anteroposterior glenoid width should be considered as the critical amount of bone loss that may result in recurrent glenohumeral instability after arthroscopic Bankart repair.

This quasi-experimental study determined whether the nutrition education program we developed to promote chewing food properly influenced children’s chewing habits successfully. Four kindergarten classes in Japan (150 children, aged 5-6 years) were studied; one class received the educational program in the classroom and at home (Group A) and three classes received the program in the classroom only (Group B). The educational program was integrated into the classes’ daily curriculum for five weeks. It included storytelling with large picture books, chewing consciously while eating lunch, singing a song with gestures, and greetings before and after meals (both groups). Group A also used a paper textbook and was provided information by the leaflet to encourage guardians to implement the program at home. Chewing habits before and after intervention were evaluated: (1) guardians completed seven questionnaire items related to chewing habits and chewing movement and (2) the number of chews and time spent eating the test meal were measured by a portable chewing sensor. Both approaches improved the children’s chewing habits; however, no difference was found between the two groups. We concluded that this intervention could be used to improve chewing habits in young children even without active involvement of their guardians.

The problem that occurs in hospitals regarding the processing of drug supplies is about the condition of out of stock medicines because hospitals spend around 33% of the total investment in one year only for the investment costs of drugs. To deal with the above problems the hospital must have good logistics management, one way of managing it is by doing good planning. In this research, the writer will use ABC Analysis and Support Vector Regression (SVR) algorithm. For the use of these methods, the following ABC Analysis will be used for the drug classification process, namely by dividing the torch into three main groups based on interests, namely groups A, B and C. Henceforth, the writer will use the SVR motedo to calculate drug predictions. The results that the authors get from this study are ABC analyys classify drugs. Into three groups namely group A with a total of 276 items with a percentage of 22.96% of the total number of items, group B with a total of 396 items with a percentage of 33.11% and C with a total of 528 with a percentage of 43.94% with a total of 1202 drug items. Prediction testing is done by taking a sample of five drugs derived from group classification. The SVR calculation process is done by comparing linear scaling and z normalization preprocessing methods. The result of this research is that MAPE shows that preprocessing with linear scaling produces a better value than compared to z nomrlization and calculation with ABC analysis.

Background: Consumption method is one of the standard methods which are used to plan the number of drugs need. This method provides good accuracy of the prediction toward the drug needs planning. However, this does not always provide satisfactory outcomes because this method cannot provide the outlook of the investment value toward each drug. To obtain a plan suitable to the need and purpose, drug planning can be analyzed using several methods; one of them is ABC analysis which is also known also as Pareto or Pareto Law 80/20, a method used in logistic management to classify goods into three based on the investment value, namely A with 75-80%, B with 15-20%, and C with 5-10%. Objective: To obtain the outlook about the process and the outcomes of the ABC analysis towards drug needs planning in Pharmacy Installation of RSUD Kota Yogyakarta in 2010. Methods: The data were collected by collecting and observing the secondary data in 2010, as well as carrying out some deep interviews to some related correspondences. Results: This research showed that the planning process is carried out by the Pharmacist in pharmacy supply sub-division and the correction carried out by the head of the hospital Pharmacy. Moreover, in the hospital there was no special planner team to plan the need of the drug, and there was no involvement from related parties. Drug item from group A has been prioritized. Conclusion: The planning that has been carried out so far was effective and efficient, as can be seen from the planning appropriateness with the highest occurring disease pattern in the hospital from each service unit.
