Purpose: Assessment of the health status of working operators in the substations in the coal industry. Material and methods: Prophylactic examinations were carried out on 82 workers responsible for ensuring the security of the power supply in the mines. Some basic indicators (range of prophylactic examinations, relative share of sick persons, structure of the momentary illness) were followed. A connection has been sought between the established deviations in the health status and the working environment factors, as well as the harmful habits. Results: Diseases of the organs of the circulation (66.03%) and "Endocrine diseases" (9.43%) predominate in the registered pathology. The same share is the class "Diseases of the eye and its eye appendages” and "Diseases of the respiratory system" (5.66%). Work environment factors are not directly related to health hazards. Smoking, alcohol consumption, obesity, stress are important to unlock some diseases. Conclusions: Periodic medical examinations allow early detection of diseases and especially their timely treatment. On the basis of the health status analysis, the necessary health and medical activities, services and programs for the protection of the health of the employees can be developed, planned and implemented.

Purpose: Development of methodology and criteria for establishing causal relationships between the health status of workers in radiation-hazardous industries with factors of the working environment. Results: A methodology and criteria have been developed for assessing the cause-and-effect relationships of the health of workers in radiation-hazardous industries with the factors of the working environment. The assessment is carried out in three stages. At the 1st stage, according to the data of periodic medical examinations and psychophysiological examinations, the level of the employee’s health loss is assessed, at the 2nd stage (using the risk matrix) – the level of occupational risk. At the 3rd stage, according to the relative risk of a specific disease (or its etiological share) and the level of occupational risk, a decision is made on the causation of the disease by unfavorable factors of the working environment.

Purpose Determine the work environment factors related to hazards in voice production for elementary school teachers, as well as the impact of vocal rest and teaching methodology. Methods This research features a quantitative, cross-sectional, non-experimental, correlational study, which applies an instrument consisting of a fill-out form and a questionnaire performed by the evaluator to 90 elementary school teachers. The following variables were taken into account: classroom size, acoustics, noise, amount of students in the classroom, chemical substances, temperature, subject taught, teaching method and classroom vocal use time. The statistical analysis was performed using the PASW statistical software, version 20. Results Regarding the external acoustic insulation, the windows are made of glass or structures with metal bars, and no elements covering the surface of the window, zinc sheets or cement in ceilings and aluminum doors. The average noise measurement in the classroom is 77 dB, and the temperature and humidity measurements show a warm humid weather tendency. The most frequent teaching method is the lecture-type class. Elementary teachers must teach all of the subjects, and have an average voice rest period of 30 minutes. The inferential analysis using the chi-square test found no correlation between work environment factors of the teacher and the presence of dysphonia. Conclusion The elements of the teaching environment and the intrinsic factors of the teaching practice are not directly related to the presence of dysphonia, but they are associated elements that do not generate vocal disorders by themselves.

Abstract Background: Coal is the core energy source of the global energy system. To ensure the sustainable development of the coal industry, the mental health of coal miners is crucial. Methods: This cross-sectional study was conducted between August 2018 and June 2019. A total of 1,675 coal miners were surveyed using the Musculoskeletal Disorders (MSDs) Questionnaire and the Symptom Checklist-90 (SCL-90). At the same time, polymorphisms in the BDNF gene (rs6265, rs10835210) and TPH2 gene (rs4570625, rs4131347) in whole blood DNA were detected to analyze the influence of a gene-environment interaction on mental health. Results: The results showed that the mental health status of coal miners was poorer than the Chinese norm (P < 0.05). The mental health status of workers with MSDs was lower; MSDs interact with the BDNF gene rs6265 and TPH2 gene rs4570625, which affects mental health. Conclusions: It is suggested that employers should improve the working environment of workers, shorten the working time, pay attention to the mental health of workers, and provide timely psychological counseling to workers who suffer from mental health problems, so as to improve workers’ mental health and working ability, as well as their quality of life.

ABSTRACT  Environmental factors that can affect employee work motivation are reliable, work environment factors and external work environment factors. Internal working environment factors include infrastructure, funding sources, control or supervision, procedures, supervision, working conditions, work climate and welfare. While the external work environment factors, including: science and technology, global environment, law, marketing, information, products and services / services. Based on multiple linear regression analysis it is known that internal work environment variables have a dominant influence on employee work motivation, it is seen from the value of multiple linear regression contribution and beta value of 0.424 one unit. Results calculation of multiple correlation coefficient of 0.714 this means that between the internal work environment and work simultaneously have a positive relationship to employee motivation. Coefficient of determination doubled (R2) that is equal to 0,510 which means that existence of rise and fall of work motivation of employees can be explained by internal work and work environment simultaneously equal to 51% and the remaining 49% explained other variables not examined in this research model. Keyword                     : Internal Working Environment, Work and Work MotivationCorrespondence to        : [email protected],[email protected] ABSTRAKFaktor lingkungan yang dapat mempengaruhi motivasi kerja karyawan adalah faktor lingkungan kerja yang dapat diandalkan dan faktor lingkungan kerja eksternal.

Introduction. Professional groups of railway workers engaged in the repair of wagons are directly responsible for the safety of railway traffic. The analysis of literature testifies to insufficient attention of researchers to the hygienic problems associated with labor activity of workers of wagon-repair production. The aim of the study is to assess the occupational risk to the health of wagon repair workers, due to the impact on them of factors of the working environment and the labor process.Materials and methods. The study used comprehensive hygienic studies using the methodology of occupational risk to worker’s health.Results. The leading factors of the working environment (class of working conditions 3.2–3.4), which are exposed to workers depending on the specifics of the work performed. Identified professional groups with medium (significant) high (unbearable) and very high (intolerable) category of a priori occupational risk: in wagon meintenance workshop — 17 groups (94% of jobs), in a wagon assembly workshop — 11 groups (80% jobs), in wagon wheel workshop — 3 group (100% jobs). At the same time, according to the request for medical care, employees were diagnosed with isolated cases of occupational diseases. The levels of morbidity with temporary disability of employees of the main workshops are statistically significant (p<0.05) higher than those of the control group in 1.4–1.9 times. The influence of the complex of chemical factors of low and medium intensity on the levels of morbidity of respiratory diseases in the group of workers of the wagon wheel workshop, which were 1.7–2.0 times higher than in the control group, is confirmed by the average degree of causation of the production condition of this pathology (RR=1.7; EF=42.0%).The combined effect of vibration and severity of the labor process forms a high level of temporary disability of employees of the main workshops in connection with diseases of the musculoskeletal system, which was 2.7–4.4 times higher than in the control group, and also determines the prevalence of this pathology in the structure of diseases detected on medical examinations (23.2%). Diseases of the musculoskeletal system are caused by the production of employees of the wagon meintenance workshop (RR=3,9; EF=74,9%), as the most unfavorable in terms of hygiene on these factors. The stressful influence of the complex of harmful production factors on the health of wagon repair workers is manifested by the high risk of diseases of the cardiovascular system, gastrointestinal tract, neurological disorders, violation of adaptation of the cardiovascular system in 97% of the examined, as well as the predominance of diseases of the digestive system and circulatory system detected on periodic medical examinations.Conclusions. Harmful working conditions (class 3.1–3.4) cause the suspected occupational risk from small (moderate) to very high (intolerable) to 100% of the jobs of wagon repair workers. The results of the study of morbidity and risk of pathology indicate a significant risk of damage to the health of workers.
