Ignitability is one of the parameters that characterize the behaviour of building materials on flame action. The Ignitability Small Attack Flame fire test is used for the classification of building products by their reaction to fire. On the basis of the Ignitability fire test it can be determined that the tested material will be classified into the class E by reaction to fire. The Ignitability Small Attack Flame fire test precede the Single Burning Item fire test, that is used for classification of building products to class D, C, B, A2. The results of the Ignitability fire test were carried out as part of the research on the properties of gypsum composite with natural fiber reinforcement. As part of the research series of ignitability tests on two types of gypsum composite were carried out. The first type was a gypsum composite reinforced with straw fibres. The second type was composite reinforced with wooden fibres. Developed composite materials could be used in the future as board materials and therefore the determination of their fire parameters is a very important part of research. The results of the fire tests have shown that the developed material has a very good flame resistance.

To full utilization of crushed straw in civil engineering industry is necessary to know its technical parameters. During previous projects on VŠB – TUO, Faculty of Civil Engineering have found parameters like settlement, thermal conductivity or airborne sound insulation. The research on these parameters have had favorable results, therefore the research is going on and other characteristics of crushed straw are finding out. These days the research team deals with determination of important fire characteristics of crushed straw. Fire characteristics play substantial character by building materials and their design in buildings. Nature materials are generally regarded as flammable. If some material is pressed, the same rule as in the phonebook – if you ignite one sheet of paper, it burns. But if you try to ignite the whole phonebook, it will be not so easy. This article is reported the first step of research on the reaction to fire. This is the preliminary classification of crushed straw into reaction to fire. The test was made according to methods which are described below. There are some changes in methods due to different structures of crushed straw.

The paper is focused on the influence of fire resistant coatings used on OSB boards on the fire resistance of entire light timber frame wall assemblies. Two fire tests were performed in the fire test laboratory of PAVUS, a.s. in Veselí nad Lužnicí. The fire tests were performed on a load bearing wall. The wall dimensions were 3.0 (depth) x 3.0 (height) m. According to EN 1995-1-2, the calculation for fire paints and coatings is not possible. The aim of the paper is the determination of the influence of this type of coating on the OSB board’s charring rate, the determination of the start of charring of a timber stud and the fire resistance of the whole construction.

Presently, sustainability became a key mantra in all the industries across the world, especially the textile sector as it is one of the largest industries in the world. In textile science, natural fibres have a big role in a sustainable environment-friendly future and became a significant topic to exploit a new natural resource which is green and environment-friendly. Considering this, fibres from various sources were explored by many researchers for its potentialities in improving the quality of life around the world. Aloe vera, banana, sisal, hemp, jute, bamboo, milk fibre, corn, soya, groundnut shell, arecanut, coffee bean waste, lyocell and eucalyptus were few among them. Each year, more synthetic fibres and high energy-consuming products are being replaced by natural-fiber-based products. Additionally, natural fibres have been used not only for clothing but also for technical applications such as composite materials, building materials, filtration and insulation materials. The reason for this trend is not only due to increase environmental awareness but also because of its excellent properties, such as lightweight, strength, low costs and simple sourcing. Meanwhile,waste utilization became one of the important and challengeable jobs around the world. The Textile industry has obtained many fibres from bioresource waste as an important step toward sustainable development. As for example, Pinafibre is a minor fibre obtained from waste pineapple leaves. The study attempted to review some of the selected new sustainable fibres from waste materials and their application in textiles.

Ability to resist of high temperature impacts during fire is not based exclusively on ignitability of building materials. At the present time, fire resistance is declared mainly through fire tests, but numerical procedures for the determination of fire resistance also represent an effective alternative in this field. Using calculation methods for the determination of ceiling structure fire resistance on the basis of timber is subject of the submitted paper. The main objective of this paper is to demonstrate the fact that timber, or products from it, are building materials capable to resist impacts of fully developed fire for the period of more than 60 minutes in spite of their flammability. Applicability of these results in selected countries of Europe can be seen from the list of requirements.

AbstractThe paper presents results of a research for determination of a few general thermal-physical properties of environmentally friendly building materials made by clay, sand and straw. The aim of this study is to establish their heat insulating and energy-efficient capacity. All specific measurements were carried out by using the newest generation thermal conductivity analyser Mathis TCi.The results showed that the studied composite materials are good thermal insulators with thermal conductivity less than 0.5 W/m.K, which depends on the straw amount. Even less than 0.5 wt.% straw reflects on the insulating properties by decreasing the thermal conductivity coefficient with nearly 50 %.

The formation of business strategies of enterprises should be based on a preliminary assessment of their current and future economic opportunities. Such an assessment is to establish the value of the total economic potential of enterprises and its individual varieties. The purpose of this study was to clarify the essence of the economic potential of enterprises, justify the need for its evaluation and selection of its types. The main approaches to interpreting the terms "potential" and "enterprise potential" are identified. These include resource, result, resource-result, resource-target, and result-target concepts. It is established that the potential of any object, including the enterprise, can be interpreted as a set of its external functional properties, which this object shows or can show in a certain state of the environment in which it is located. Accordingly, the assessment of the potential of an object should be based on the identification and determination of its external properties, taking into account the environment in which the object is located. The main situations in which there is a need for information about certain components of the economic potential of the enterprise are identified, and the types of this potential and the consumers of the information about their level, corresponding to these situations, are determined. In particular, such situations include management of production and sales, management of financial and economic results of the enterprise, management of enterprise development, assessment of the company's need for various types of resources, assessment of enterprise value, assessment of current and future impact of the enterprise on the economy of the country (region), etc. The features of classification of types of enterprise potential existing in the scientific literature are supplemented by the following ones: by the main types of economic activity, by the dynamics of changes in the economic and production system of the enterprise, by consequences for the subject of enterprise potential assessment, by the stages of economic activity, enterprise potential, etc. The obtained results make it possible to improve the understanding of the complex patterns that underlie the formation of the economic potential of enterprises.
