In the manufacture of parts, surfaces are contaminated due to the peculiarities of the technology. Safe cleaning of these surfaces is an urgent problem. The article discusses non-refractory solutions for cleaning parts. The methodology for carrying out research on cleaning pollution is presented. The following contaminants were chosen: preservation oil K-17, Mobil 423 oil, SOZh-073, Vacuquench B244 quenching oil, Polishing paste, MPK emulsion. The quality of cleaning the contaminants was tested for the following detergents: Ardrox 6378 A, Ardrox 6333, Ardrox 6486. Detergent Ardrox 6378A washes away all investigated contaminants from the surface of the samples, except for conservation oil. Ardrox 6333 B detergent does not wash stubborn contaminants – K-17 conservation oil and polishing paste. The Ardrox 6486 detergent composition does not wash all investigated contaminants except the IPC emulsion. Of the Ardrox brand detergents, Ardrox 6378A is the most effective. Studies have been conducted to determine the optimal contaminant cleaning regime for the most effective detergent composition – Ardrox 6378A. The study showed that at a concentration of this composition of 15 % and a temperature of 65 °C, the surface is washed from all contaminants.

In science, safety can seem unfashionable. Satisfying safety requirements can slow the pace of research, make it cumbersome, or cost significant amounts of money. The logic of rules can seem unclear. Compliance can feel like a negative incentive. So besides the obvious benefit that safety keeps one safe, why do some scientists preach "safe science is good science"? Understanding the principles that underlie this maxim might help to create a strong positive incentive to incorporate safety into the pursuit of groundbreaking science.

This essay explains how safety can enhance the quality of an experiment and promote innovation in one's research. Being safe induces a researcher to have greater control over an experiment, which reduces the uncertainty that characterizes the experiment. Less uncertainty increases both safety and the quality of the experiment, the latter including statistical quality (reproducibility, sensitivity, etc.) and countless other properties (yield, purity, cost, etc.). Like prototyping in design thinking and working under the constraint of creative limitation in the arts, considering safety issues is a hands-on activity that involves decision-making. Making decisions leads to new ideas, which spawns innovation.

The purpose of this study is to improve the cementing quality of shale gas well by mud cake solidification, as well as to provide the better annular isolation for its hydraulic fracturing development. Based on the self-established experimental method and API RP 10, the effects of mud cake solidifiers on the shear strength at cement-interlayer interface (SSCFI) were evaluated. After curing for 3, 7, 15 and 30 days, SSCFI was remarkably improved by 629.03%, 222.37%, 241.43% and 273.33%, respectively, compared with the original technology. Moreover, the compatibility among the mud cake solidifier, cement slurry, drilling fluid and prepad fluid meets the safety requirements for cementing operation. An application example in a shale gas well (Yuanye HF-1) was also presented. The high quality ratio of cementing quality is 93.49% of the whole well section, while the unqualified ratio of adjacent well (Yuanba 9) is 84.46%. Moreover, the cementing quality of six gas-bearing reservoirs is high. This paper also discussed the mechanism of mud cake solidification. The reactions among H3AlO42- and H3SiO4- from alkali-dissolved reaction, Na+ and H3SiO4- in the mud cake solidifiers, and Ca2+ and OH- from cement slurry form the natrolite and calcium silicate hydrate (C-S-H) with different silicate-calcium ratio. Based on these, SSCFI and cementing quality were improved.

This article discusses the problem of choosing the correct and effective organizational structure of enterprise management for its correct functioning. The existing types of organizational structures of enterprise management, which are used in practice today, are analyzed, and their positive, negative sides and the type of enterprises for which they can be used are revealed. Along with this, this article discusses and describes methods for choosing an organizational structure for an enterprise. Also, during the study, internal and external factors were identified that affect the choice of an organizational structure. Based on the analysis, a methodology for choosing the most effective type of organizational structure for enterprises was drawn up. The question of choosing an organizational structure is acute for every manager at the very beginning of the operation of an enterprise, because the quality of performance of functions, both of individual divisions and of the entire enterprise as a whole, directly depends on this. Among many types of organizational structures in this study, the types of organizational structures that are most adaptable to changes in external and internal factors are identified. This study provides methods and tools for selecting the appropriate organizational structure for any enterprise. At the moment, some methods, be it goal structuring or computer modeling, are not widely used, which in turn makes it difficult to choose an effective organizational structure for enterprise management. The choice of an effective organizational structure is an extremely urgent problem today for every entrepreneur, who is interested in the stable economic activity of his or her enterprise.

The entry of the Russian Federation into the Eurasian economic Union has led to stricter requirements for the safety indicators of alcoholic beverages, including packaging products. Alcoholic beverages are stored and even aged in the packaging, so the corking material – cork plugs can significantly affect the quality of the drink. In this regard, cork plugs are subject to safety requirements in the form of formaldehyde control. Existing methods for identifying it are quite time-consuming and very expensive, and also involve the use of expensive equipment. The proposed method for determining the content of formaldehyde released from cortical plugs into model media was developed on the basis of micellar electrokinetic capillary chromatography using the process of derivatization of a controlled compound with a solution of 2,4-dinitrophenylhydrazine (2,4-DNPH) in acetonitrile containing 5% acetic acid. System Kapel 105 equipped with a UV-detector with a variable wavelength, quartz capillaries with a diameter of 75 microns and a total length of 60 cm (50,5 cm to the detector) were used for the study. Working solutions of formaldehyde were prepared daily by appropriately diluting the samples of the initial solution with water. Calibration graphs were calculated for six concentrations – 2, 5, 10, 20, 40 and 100 mg/l standards in two repetitions. A certain amount of standard formaldehyde solution was added to the sample – model media obtained during the study of cork plugs samples and a derivatization procedure was performed. UV detection of 2,4-DNPH derivatives was performed at a wavelength of 360 nm. The results of testing the method are presented on electrophoregrams. A linear relationship was obtained between the peak area and the formaldehyde concentration (R2 = 0,99). The developed method for determining the formaldehyde content is low-cost, simple and highly accurate, and can be recommended as a tool for monitoring the safety of cork plugs in accordance with the standards of the Eurasian economic Union.

The embedded electronic architecture of a modern vehicle is a distributed system composed of several tenths of nodes. The development of these systems relies on a cooperative process involving several partners (carmakers and several suppliers). In such highly competitive domain, three main factors have to be taken into account: the design and production costs, the performance, comfort, and quality of driving, and several stringent safety requirements. In order to fulfill these requirements in such a context, it is vital for the different stakeholders to master the effects of the different sources of complexity. One way to reach this goal is to provide them with a common modeling language capable of representing the system at all its design steps and a common reference architecture in terms of components and organization. This chapter illustrates this approach. It focuses on EAST-ADL, an architecture description language dedicated to the automotive domain. Its links to the reference architecture defined by the AUTOSAR consortium are given. The chapter focuses especially on the ability offered by EAST-ADL to support the validation and verification (V&V) activities in order to fulfill the safety requirements.

We report a series of experiments investigating crossmodal correspondences between various food-related stimuli (water-based solutions, milk-based flavoured solutions, crisps, chocolate and odours) and sounds varying in pitch and played by four different types of musical instruments. Participants tasted or smelled stimuli before matching them to a musical note. Our results demonstrate that participants preferentially match certain stimuli to specific pitches and instrument types. Through participants’ ratings of the stimuli along a number of dimensions (e.g., pleasantness, complexity, familiarity or sweetness), we explore the psychological dimensions involved in these crossmodal correspondences, using principal components analysis (PCA). While pleasantness seems to play an important role in the choice of instrument associated with chemosensory stimuli, the pitch seems to also depend on the quality of the taste (bitter, salty, sour or sweet). The level at which such crossmodal correspondences might occur, as well as the potential applications of such results, will be discussed.

Nuclear power station has high safety requirements, and the safety systems related to the nuclear island must be checked by hydraulic calculation. In the conventional island, the safe shutdown of the nuclear island most closely relates to the feedwater system, which determines the quantity and quality of the feedwater supply to the steam generator. In this paper, feedwater evolution in case of steamline break will be presented by using Flowmaster hydraulic software, and the results was used as the input for the analysis of security assessment in the nuclear island.

The bonding mechanism between water-based UV curable ink and active groups on paper’s fiber during curing process was studied in this paper. Low viscosity water-based UV-cured resin was synthesized by epoxy resins, epoxy diluent, acrylic acid and maleic anhydride in the presence of catalyst. The viscosity of the synthesis system and synthetic products were significantly reduced when epoxy diluent was added to replace parts of the epoxy resin. Epoxy diluent was very useful in reducing the viscosity of the product, but over-dose would have negative effects on the quality of the cured film. The water-based epoxy acrylate prepolymer was used as the substitution for the ink to investigate the binding mechanism between the active groups of prepolymer and fiber under UV irradiation. The prepolymer and photoinitiator were mixed and the mixture was diluted to an appropriate viscosity by a small amount of water, then printed on the paper by the method of analog printing and curred by UV curing machine. The printed paper was used to extract lignin by enzymatic/mild acidolysis. FT-IR was used to characterize the changes of the active groups in lignin. The results showed that the changes of active groups in lignin were founded in the existence of ultraviolet and photoinitiator, which consistent with the change of double bonds in prepolymer. The free radicals produced by photoinitiator in curing process not only promoted the double bonds to polymerize, but also accelerated the active groups of lignin binding. Experiments show that chemical bonds exist between them.
