Purpose – This paper aims to present a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) of studies in Brazil with applications of multivariate control charts indexed in journals on the Web of Science. Design/methodology/approach – The following steps were carried out: a detailed synthesis was performed on the general characteristics of the corpus, co-citation and collaboration networks analyzed; and a co-occurrence of terms in the text corpus was verified. A Systematic Literature Review was carried out using the protocols set out by Biolchini et al. (2007), Kitchenham (2004) and Tranfield, Denyer and Smart (2003). Papers were selected from the Web of Science database, and after applying filters, results for 29 articles were given to compose the corpus. Findings – A tendency was found for an increase in publications, along with more international research on the issue. The journal most used for publication was the Microchemical Journal. This analysis provided relevant authors for research in this area: Harold Hotelling, Douglas Montgomery, and John Frederick MacGregor. Important Brazilian researchers were highlighted who work mainly in the pharmaceutical and biodiesel industry. Originality/value – No articles were found that had carried out a Systematic Literature Review of Brazilian research on multivariate control charts. The main contributions to this manuscript related to an increase in scientific know-how in the area of multivariate and bibliometric analysis. Keywords - Multivariate Control Charts. Hospitality Industry has a particular context, it is broadly competitive, and in permanent change. An organizational culture can improve the results of different organizations. This study evaluates the organizational culture research in the field of the hospitality industry to obtain an understanding of its actual situation and future. The study used bibliometric analysis and systematic literature review to examine publications of five journals about hospitality in the Web of Science database, from 1980 to April 2019. Findings indicate that hotels are the main field of research of the hospitality industry, and the quantitative methodology approach is the most used. Moreover, it shows three paths of recent research for future analysis.

Purpose The purpose of this paper is to understand a typology of eco-innovation that best characterizes an innovation incubator, with the aim of strengthening the management of this habitat to leverage the development of new eco-innovation technologies. Design/methodology/approach The typologies of 22 studies identified in the Web of Science, Scopus, Scielo and Science Direct databases were analyzed through a theoretical and descriptive study and method of systematic literature review. In the typologies analyzed, none were found that fit directly into the environment of an innovation incubator. Findings The most detailed typology, by Fernando et al. (2015), is characterized as a type of eco-innovation developed in a specific market, but it does not address the characteristics of this innovation habitat, which is the incubator. Practical implications Thus, based on the typologies presented, this paper demonstrates the construction of an instrument that contemplates the authors analyzed, with emphasis on its application in incubators. Responsible innovation has always been an important issue in discourses addressing the major challenges faced by humankind in terms of natural resource degradation, climate change, economic progress and societal well-being. However, its integration into industry is still in its infancy, and even more so when it comes to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). The aim of this research is to use a systematic literature review to develop a conceptual model for responsible innovation and its relationship with SME performance, in connection with sustainable innovation and corporate social responsibility practices. A bibliometric analysis of 102 articles collected between 2000 and April 2020 from the Web of Science database was used, in addition to the systematic literature review using the Gephi and NVivo software. The study presents an overview of the articles, authors, and most influential journals and research clusters identified, and provides a solid conceptual framework to be applied in this field and in the context of SMEs.

PurposeSince the first definition of open innovation (OI), the indivisible relationship between this concept and entrepreneurship was undeniable. However, the exact mechanisms by which an entrepreneurial approach may benefit OI processes and vice versa are not yet fully understood. The study aims to offer an accurate map of the knowledge evolution of the OI–entrepreneurship relationship and interesting gaps to be filled in the future.Design/methodology/approachThe study adopted a bibliometric analysis, coupled with a systematic literature review performed over a data set of 106 peer-reviewed articles published from 2005 to 2020 to identify thematic clusters.FindingsThe results show five thematic clusters: entrepreneurial opportunities, organisational opportunities, strategic partnership opportunities, institutional opportunities and digital opportunities for OI. Investigating each of them, the authors created a framework that highlights future avenues for further developing the topic.Originality/valueThis study is the first of its kind to systematise, analyse and critically interpret the literature concerned with the topic of the OI–entrepreneurship.

PurposeLiterature contributions to agricultural cooperative (AC) entrepreneurship model are fragmented and show some significant limitations. The purpose of this paper is to identify the existing important barriers to this entrepreneurship model as well as to group them into respective themes.Design/methodology/approachA systematic literature review (SLR) of peer reviewed journal articles was carried out by the authors in well-known databases, such as Scopus, Emerald, ScienceDirect, Google Scholar, IDEAS/RePEc search and Web of Science. In total, 78 articles from 26 different countries during 2010–2019 were collected.FindingsA large number of important barriers are identified in the literature and meaningful dimensions of these barriers are also revealed.Practical implicationsThe study has important implications regarding the ways to improve the effectiveness of AC model. Researchers and practitioners can use the results presented in this study for further development of this model.Originality/valueThis study presents the important barriers in AC model in global scope analytically and groups them into meaningful themes, which significantly differentiate the present SLR study from those published so far.

Purpose The purpose of this paper is to describe the current research on hospital continuous improvement projects (CIPs) from an author characteristics’ perspective. This work addresses the following questions: who are the predominant research authors in hospital CIPs? To what extent are the research communities collaborating in distinct research groups? How internationalized has hospital CIPs research become with respect to author location? Design/methodology/approach A systematic literature review was conducted, identifying 302 academic publications related to hospital CIPs. Publications were analyzed using: author, quantity, diversity, collaboration, and impact. Findings Hospital CIPs are increasingly attracting new scholars each year. Based on the authors’ analysis, authors publishing in this area can be described as a relatively new international community given the countries represented. Originality/value This paper describes the current hospital CIP research by assessing author characteristics. Future work should examine additional attributes to characterize maturity such as how new knowledge is being created and to what extent new knowledge is being disseminated to practitioners.

PurposeThe basis of this paper is to carry on a bibliometric analysis to investigate how “marketing” decisions have affected “packaging” success in different disciplines. This analysis covers from the first paper published on this topic (in 1956) to the last papers published in 2019.Design/methodology/approachA total of 1,170 scientific papers (including 14,177 citations within those papers) were retrieved from the Web of Science (WOS) and Scopus, dated from 1956 to 2019. Scimat software was used to analyse the data.FindingsThe results of this paper show that two main sectors constitute the focus of packaging studies from a marketing approach: food and tobacco. Recently, the main topics of research have evolved towards sustainable and health packaging, concerning different agents involved in packaging decisions: retailers, marketers, consumers and producers. So, both lines of research represent promising lines of research.Originality/valueThree different investigating profiles (i.e. engineers, marketers-psychologists and doctors-scientists) have examined how packaging should be prepared to succeed. However, a holistic bibliometric analysis about “packaging” and “marketing” is missing from those three branches of knowledge. This study is important to guide future lines of research to fill the identified gaps.

This article aims to elaborate a systematic literature review (SLR) on the subject of experiments in behavioral finance, including papers published between 2014 and 2018. Methodology involved the careful selection of articles published in Web of Science and Scopus databases, and bibliometric analysis was applied. Final sample included 60 articles, the Journal of Behavioral Finance was the most productive journal and the majority of the 152 authors worked in the Americas. For cocitation, important authors, such as Kahneman and Tversky and Barber and Odean were among the most cited and with greater relational ties. For bibliographic coupling, Bursztyn et al. and Bigelow et al. were the most cited, whereas Kadous et al. presented more relational ties. The research contribution lies in the application of the SLR to a growing research area, allowing to know the most relevant subjects, articles, journals, authors, and countries in the area nowadays.

This work develops a systematic literature review on the B Corp movement. Fifty articles were identified in the Web of Science and Scopus databases until 2020. Results show that it is an incipient field with great potential. There are two topics repeatedly addressed in the analyzed publications: the motivations of companies to be certified, and the economic and social effects that occur after certification. Sustainability is currently the reference journal in the field, since it has published a total of five articles. Finally, several lines of future work are proposed, such as the contribution of B Corp companies to the SDGs; the development of case studies on the certification process itself; and the development of methods for measuring social impact.

Superabsorbent polymers (SAP) have gained the attention of the engineering field for applications in cementitious composites. Recently, many studies have addressed using these materials as an alternative to controlling recurrent pathologies, especially retraction in the hardening stage. This study conducted a literature review in the Scopus and Web of Science databases to identify relevant studies for future research in this area. Analyses were performed using the RStudio software program, where data on the number of publications, the main authors and journals, the most used keywords, and most common countries of publication were analyzed. Furthermore, bibliographic coupling and co-citation analyses were carried out. The results indicate that the most published authors were De Belie, Snoeck and Liu J., and the most cited authors were Jensen, Schrofl and Snoeck. Although Brazil is among the fifteen most published countries, it was not among the most cited, showing lacks in studies. In total, 343 articles were found in the Scopus database and 369 in the Web of Science.
