ABSTRACT Objective: To describe relationships between the ECPICID-AVC scale factors and the NANDA-I domains, classes, and Nursing Diagnoses (NDs). Method: Cross-mapping study between the NANDA-I taxonomy and ECPICID-AVC scale was constructed based on the eight ECPICID-AVC scale factors and the 13 NANDA-I domains. A descriptive analysis was performed to present the mapped elements. Results: Areas of similarity and intersection were found between the eight ECPICID-AVC factors and nine NANDA-I domains, 19 classes, and 72 NDs. All scale factors were mapped with the Domain 1/Health Promotion, Class 2/Health Management and the ND “Frail elderly syndrome”. Final considerations: The ECPICID-AVC scale factors were mapped with nine domains, their classes and diagnoses. This study demonstrates the importance of identifying nursing diagnoses and their relationship with factors that evaluate caregiving capacity. The ECPICID-AVC can help nurses generate nursing diagnoses regarding the caregiver’s needs and their capacities related to care to focus such needs.

ABSTRACT Objective: To analyze the content of the nursing diagnosis Ineffective Health Management in hemodialysis patients. Method: The Nursing Diagnoses Validation Model by Lopes, Silva and Auraújo was used in this research. A semi-structured questionnaire and evaluated the definition, location, defining characteristics, and related factors of the diagnosis Ineffective Health Management was answered by 22 experts in nursing diagnosis. The analysis was conducted from August 2014 to January 2015. Results: Experts considered the proposed definition and the current location in the taxonomy II by the NANDA-I, Domain 1 Health Promotion, Class 2 Health Control, adequate to the diagnosis. The adequacy level adopted at 85% or p > 0.05 were above 10 defining characteristics and 24 related factors. Experts also suggested that one defining characteristic should become a related factor and that three factors should turn into defining characteristics. Conclusion: A new proposal was developed for the diagnosis under study after the analysis of experts.

AIM: to analyze whether nursing goals formulated for nursing diagnoses can be mapped to nursing outcomes classification and to identify the scales most appropriate to the outcomes mapped. METHOD: a descriptive study was developed in an intensive care unit. Data collection involved extraction of goals in 44 medical records, content standardization, cross-mapping to the outcomes, identification of appropriated scales and validation. Descriptive analysis and agreement with the cross-mapping process were performed. RESULTS: nursing goals (59) were mapped to (28) different outcomes, with agreement of 83% in the mapping process. All goals were mapped to outcomes, which allows to affirm that these outcomes contemplates the goals elaborated to patient care. CONCLUSION: these results favor the inclusion of outcomes and scales validated in the planning and evaluation phases of the nursing process of a software in construction.

In modern medicine, approaches to healthcare no longer only encompass injury management, but increasingly focus on understanding the performance demands and health risk exposures faced by performing artists. Quantitative and qualitative scientific and health analyses by performing artists, clinicians, educators, and researchers are increasingly helping us to develop effective, targeted, and relevant health promotion and performance optimisation strategies worldwide. While such research increasingly identifies improved methods of preventing and managing potential psychological, audiological, or physical challenges faced by performing artists, we still need to work hard to address very important barriers to implementing appropriate health approaches. One of the challenges to better health management in performing arts populations relates to stigmatization.

With a reducing fertility rate and the increase in life expectancy in Taiwan, the changing structure of the population has pushed Taiwan into an aged society. The demand for elderly care environments is rapidly increasing. However, to prevent an illness for the elderly is better than to treat it. Monitoring of an individual’s health is required as a periodic activity. Using wireless technology combined with physiological measurement techniques and home care equipment can assist elderly individuals to promote health and the health care service at home. In this research, a wireless sensor network has been adopted to develop context aware health promotion for an elderly-care system. The system is divided into three subsystems: the IoT-based physiological information subsystem, the context awareness-based service subsystem, and the elderly nutrition diet and health promotion subsystem. In this system, users also can select an Aging Diet Module or an Aging Exercise Module in our app. After the user selects the Aging Diet Module, the system will record and give suggestions. Moreover, the system can integrate long-term elderly diet and exercise records, and then, assist elderly to complete personal nutrition assessment and health management. The research goal is to construct a health promotion system utilizing IoT technology. In this paper, the system’s functions and implementation approaches are introduced.

This study aimed to clarify the frequency of and temporal changes in the content of mothers’ free written opinions obtained in the Fukushima Health Management Survey Pregnancy and Birth Survey from 2011 to 2013. A self-administered questionnaire was mailed to women who delivered babies in Fukushima Prefecture. The questionnaire asked about maternal and child health. Expression of mothers’ concerns about radiation decreased over time. Common to the top 5 codes across the 3 years were “radiation effect on fetus and infant” and “information provision including survey results.” Participants who wrote free opinions were significantly more likely to be aged ≥30 years and to have depressive symptoms. Our descriptive analysis of the qualitative data showed a clear shift in mothers’ concerns from radiation-related issues to their own physical and mental health. Mothers who expressed concerns were more likely to report negative physical and mental health.
