The article presents the results of a research of the influence of a ferromagnetic shunt (FMS) on the static and dynamic characteristics of the control electromagnet of the KTP 6000 series contactor by means of computer numerical simulation in the ANSYS Electromagnetic Suite software package. A computer numerical model of an electromagnetic actuator with FMS is proposed and verified, the influence of the geometrical dimensions of the shunt on the static and dynamic characteristics of the electromagnetic actuator of a low-voltage DC contactor is investigated. Recommendations are given for the selection of the FMS dimensions in the design calcu-lation of the valve-type electromagnetic drive, which will increase the dynamic traction force of the electromagnet and reduce its response time.

A through tied arch bridge model was designed and fabricated with removable and replaceable wind bracing. Through two methods, numerical simulation and model experiments, the effects of different wind bracing forms were studied, which was to the static characteristics, dynamic characteristics and stability of such kind of bridges, and the advantages and disadvantages of different forms of wind bracing were compared, which provided the corresponding references for the selection of rational wind bracing in actual bridge project.

the description of hydrodynamic force calculation methodology on the differential fuel consumption (thrust) control valve in aircraft engines (AE) by the software package ANSYS. The dependences of hydrodynamic forces on the fluid flow rate are developed through the triangular windows and the position of the differential pressure valve plug. The static and dynamic characteristics of the draft controller were calculated in the software package MATLAB/SIMULINK, taking into account the hydrodynamic force on the differential valve for different diameters of a damping jet. The possibility of the draft controller developed model use is specified at the calculation of AE dynamic characteristics.

To quantitatively predict the static, and dynamic characteristics of a head slider while flying over a patterned disk, the mixedly averaging method has been successfully applied to the molecular gas lubrication problem incurred by groove-shaped textures formed over the lubricating surface. First, formulation of ADI method by using mixedly averaged film thickness is derived and implemented into an interactive numerical simulation system. Then, spacing variations of typical sliders on a patterned disk surface are demonstrated.

To quantitatively predict the static and dynamic characteristics of a flying head slider on a patterned disk surface, the “mixed averaging method” has been successfully applied to the molecular gas lubrication problem incurred by groove-shaped textures formed over the lubricating surface. First, formulation of the alternative direction implicit method using a “mixed averaged” film thickness was derived and implemented as a numerical simulation system. To analyze several types of surface patterns including their mixture patterns, the mixing ratio for the pressure flow and the shear flow were tabulated and interpolated at every mesh point, and then the spacing variations of typical sliders on a discrete track recording medium were demonstrated.
