The article deals with companies processing and producing dairy products and cheeses in the Czech market. The dairy industry is a crucial field among the production of food products. On March 31, 2015 the milk quotas were cancelled. The impacts of their cancelation can bring danger for the dairy business but also provide some opportunities. Therefore it is important that businesses are economically powerful and so are able to strengthen their competitive position. This article aims to analyse businesses to identify vulnerable groups of businesses and those groups whose welfare is not essentially jeopardized. Partially, the aim is to assess whether there are significant differences in economic indicators among enterprises of the dairy industry (divided according to their size, ownership and subsidy drawing). At the same time the aim is to find groups of dairy businesses from the set which are similar to each other and which differ from other groups of companies and thus set their position in the Czech market. Over all there were 35 dairy milk businesses analysed in 2013. There were statistically significant differences in some economic indicators among corporations considering drawing grants, size, ownership structure and binding to primary production. According to the cluster analysis the large companies with foreign ownership can be considered as a potential threat and may affect the position and competitiveness of other businesses. The results indicate the endangered position of Czech medium-sized businesses as well as opportunities for stabilizing small businesses which specialize closely.

The purpose-on the basis of the analysis of the current state and location of enterprises in the dairy industry of the republic and Almaty region, in particular, to identify the main factors that hinder its development, to develop recommendations for solving the existing problems. Methods - monographic, computational-constructive, analytical, economic-statistical, logical generalization. Results - research confirms the underdevelopment of the infrastructure for effective promotion of dairy products from producer to consumer along the production-processing-sale technological chain, especially primary milk processing; often there is a discrepancy between the required proportions between the existing production capacities of milk processing enterprises and the level of development of their raw material zones. Based on production potential of each district of a specific region and calculation of the population's demand for dairy products, a forecast for creation of agricultural cooperatives (APC) of dairy direction for purification of milk from mechanical impurities, cooling, storage and transportation in the context of districtsis presented. It is necessary to create 77 APC for the period 2021-2022, incl. 64 cooperatives for primary milk processing. Conclusions - it is recommended to merge small farms into agricultural cooperatives. The economic efficiency of organizing a cooperative milk collection point at the district level has been justified. Based on the study of the existing schemes for location of milk processing enterprises, proposals have been developed for the localization of new cooperative milk collection points in the territorial units of the region. Dairy industry enterprises need investments to renew their fixed assets. The authors note that the possibilities and advantages of cooperative principles and the potential reserve of agricultural cooperation are not yet fully realized.

Our paper explores the factors influencing the consumers who buy organic food. Analysis of these factors enabled us to sort the consumers into groups based on their gender, age, education, and other identifiers. Further research then revealed more detailed shopping preferences of each one of those groups. The findings generated recommendations for producers and organic produce vendors on the best way to provide target marketing for different groups of consumers and therefore increase their sales of organic produce and food made from organic produce. Considering the use of categorical data, contingency tables and correspondence maps served as the best representation and processing tools. Data analysis showed that organic produce is most frequently purchased by respondents in the age of 45+ years, who also tend to spend more money for this range of products. At the same time, these would be the respondents, who struggle the most when recognizing organic produce and who have often never seen any advertisement for it. The respondents aged 25 years and less tend to purchase organic produce least frequently; they also often do not care about the origin of organic produce. Almost the same applies to families with multiple children. However, young respondents often grow their own organic produce. There is still a not insignificant percentage of consumers, who consider organic produce to be expensive and who do not believe in their qualities. As it turns out, when it comes to organic produce the respondents purchase most frequently fruits and vegetables, milk and dairy products.

A cluster analysis of field observation data was performed using the Statistica 12 software, connections were established in the middle of the data set, and the obtained data were organized into certain structures. As a result of the clustering, groups of clusters that have the greatest impact on speed were identified. Determining the hierarchy of factors influencing the speed and safety of the transport process shall improve approaches for modeling traffic flow velocity dependences. The paper describes an analysis of road safety risk factors.Problem Statement. The need to modernize approaches for traffic flow prediction, traffic volume distribution on the road network, means and methods of traffic management, traffic management systems in connection with quantitative and qualitative changes in the transport sector of Ukraine.Purpose. Road safety risk factors validation and ranking.Materials and method. Mathematical modeling and cluster analysis using survey data.Results. The dependence of speed on road conditions was improved using mathematical modeling.Conclusions. Chapter 9 explores why management of climate-related risks can be particularly challenging for micro, small, and medium enterprises (‘MSME’) to address. MSME comprise about 99 per cent of all businesses globally and they often lack the infrastructure and resources to manage deep shifts in their business activities. This chapter explores how one could build financing and infrastructure to support the MSME sector to advance in their transition to net zero. It discusses how the European Union has taken the lead globally on microfinance for vulnerable groups that want to set up or develop their businesses and microenterprises. It is building the institutional capacity of microcredit providers and supporting development of social enterprises by facilitating access to finance. It also examines climate governance for MSME, offering examples of toolkits being developed for micro and small businesses. The chapter concludes with a discussion of contributions that women entrepreneurs and micro-business owners are making in the transition to net zero.

Much has been written about the changing structure of dairy farming in Europe in the last decade, but comparatively little has been said about the processing sector. Yet the future market for milk largely depends on the success of the dairy trade in adapting to the new market environment. Accordingly, this paper concentrates on the pressures and strategic issues facing the milk processing sector in Europe. Certainly, in recent years it has had to cope with radical changes in both the production and consumption of dairy products. After several decades of uncontrolled expansion in milk production, the introduction of milk quotas by the European Community in 1984 was a rude shock. In general, the industry was still geared to an expanding milk market. Almost overnight, it was faced with the problem of excess processing capacity.

PurposeThe purpose of this paper was to establish the contribution of value chain and productivity to trade performance in the dairy industry using evidence from Uganda.Design/methodology/approachThis study research design is cross-sectional and correlational. Data were collected through a questionnaire survey of 108 dairy farmers, processors and exporters. Data were analysed through correlation coefficients and linear regression using Statistical Package for Social Sciences.FindingsHierarchical regression results indicate that value chain and productivity contribute significantly to variances in trade performance of dairy products. Therefore, appropriate value chain processes and high levels of productivity lead to increased trade performance in the dairy industry.Research limitations/implicationsThis study focusses on trade performance of dairy products in Uganda. These research findings are useful for informing the deliberations of academicians, regulators and the business community. The results are applicable to all countries that carry out trade specifically in dairy products.Practical implicationsThe results are important for trade policy development in the dairy industry. For example, this study informs farmers, processors and exporters of dairy products how value chain activities in dairy farming can be re-aligned to achieve better quality and productivity for exportation. Similarly, the current study provides policy guidance for the relevant ministries such as ministry of trade and other players to come up with holistic policy actions aimed at improving the trade performance of dairy products in the country.Originality/valueTo the researchers' knowledge, this is the first study that provides an initial empirical evidence on the contribution of value chain and productivity on trade performance of dairy products in Uganda.

Global trends in world economy intervene into each sector of national economy. In the article, we focused on the dairy industry. The research was oriented at the national market of dairy products with the goal to assess the current situation on the market with these commodities. According to the acquired data, we compiled an overview of the current situation in the market and we pointed out the direction that should be followed by producers. The implementation of information systems is a necessary requirement to increase competitiveness in accordance with the specifics of dairy production.
