The topic of the article considers the functioning of the renewable energy (RE) sector in Poland. This is really important in the context of the energy transition of the national economy because it influences the creation of modern technologies and increases the competitiveness and innovation of the country. Poland is in a process of energy transition where the RE sector has been developing for two decades. The authors aimed to research the RE sector improvement possibilities in Poland, including the influence of this sector on chosen social and economic aspects. Because of this research’s aim a critical situation assessment of RE in Poland was conducted and a survey of a group of experts in this field was also involved. Legal, physical and mental determinants and their influence on RE sector were looked into. In the legal determinant context a necessity to simplify relevant legislation acts in Poland was found. Undoubtedly there is a need to improve several legal acts, including the Distance Act. In physical determinants it was found that solar, wind and biomass energy have the biggest chances for development. In the case of mental determinants the authors paid attention to the need of educating the public about using and obtaining energy. It is also important to make people aware how the RE sector influences the low emission economy positively. This will improve the creation of new jobs and reduce the emissions of harmful substances to the environment.

The present society is considered an information society. A society where the creation, distribution, use, integration, and manipulation of digital information have become the most significant activity in all aspects. Information is producing from every sector of any society, which has resulted in an information explosion. Modern technologies are also having a huge impact. So managing this voluminous information is really a tough job. Again WWW has opened the door to connect anyone or anything within a fraction of a second. This study discussed the Semantic Web and linked data technologies and their effect and application to libraries for the handling of various types of resources.

The variety of modern technologies and the versatility of lighting solutions in architectural structures necessitate a method for evaluating such solutions. In this article, a method for assessing the characteristics of architectural lighting of buildings is graphically demonstrated, based on the example of architectural lighting of a public building in the city of Voronezh. The proposed method involves the identification of qualitative indicators of the expressiveness of architectural lighting of facades and their quantitative assessment using an integrated approach from the standpoint of the selected characteristics and criteria. Thanks to this method, the strengths and weaknesses of the studied architectural lighting of the building are clearly identified for its subsequent modernization or the creation of promising conclusions for the design of new construction objects.

As a result of the internationalization of theatrical art and the development of modern technologies, surtitles are currently one of the most frequently used methods of theater translation. The diversity of solutions currently proposed by theaters around the world entails the necessity of development of the common rules of the creation of surtitles. This role is to be fulfilled by the French rulebook prepared by the by the drama institute Maison Antoine Vitez, entitled "Guide du sur-titrage au théâtre" (Bataillon, Muhleisen, Diez, 2016). The following analysis is based on examples of the use of surtitles from four performances presented during the Malta Festival 2017 in Poznań. Its purpose will be to answer the question: to what extent the surtitles used during the Polish festival of theater are in compliance with the norms suggested by authors of“Guide du sur-titrage au théâtre” (2016)?

The use of modern computer technology in animal husbandry without taking into account an experience can lead to unexpected results. From an economic point of view, the introduction and use of innovations in agriculture is not always justified, because of it is necessary to deal with the natural environment, and it is difficult to make predictions for obtaining particular results under such conditions. The article summarizes the experience of using modern computer technologies in dairy farming, considers approaches to improving the technology of milk production in cattle breeding, its innovative potential. Industrial-type enterprises must be modernized with the maximum use of existing facilities and technical equipment, with equipping them with advanced machines, automatic machines and equipment. The use of mechanization and automation should ensure reliable implementation and control of the processes of preparation, transportation and dosing of feed, removal and processing of manure and wastewater, and the creation of an optimal microclimate regardless of the season and climatic zone. The necessity of spreading a loose-line method of keeping cows, milking parlors and automated systems is substantiated. Cow milking should be considered a significant element in the mechanization of technological processes on a livestock farm, and therefore the most promising development of milking systems in automated and computerized installations such as Europarallel, Herringbone, and Carousel. The use of innovative digital developments such as the creation of large databases in dairy farming allows us to more accurately determine the possible results of investments and more efficiently integrate agriculture into society. The development of modern technologies contributes to a more complete realization of the genetic potential of animals and thereby increases the efficiency of dairy cattle breeding

The authors pointed out the basic challenges related to the use of artificial intelligence (AI) in the area of security and defence of the Republic of Poland. Challenges to Polish security and defence related to modern technologies, including the use of AI systems, arise from the fact that Poland remains outside the leading group of highly technologically advanced countries. It is necessary to implement organisational measures to strengthen and expand the technological potential of the state, above all the development of national solutions in the sector of new technologies and cyber security, and the creation of a comprehensive document that defines the strategic objectives in the area of AI use and the ways of their implementation.

The article deals with the organization of the creation of domestic technology for designing systems on a chip and complex functional blocks. Significant disadvantages that reduce its effectiveness are highlighted. Special attention is paid to the idea of creating design centers in system firms and the principles of organizing design work in them. The measures for promotion and implementation of modern technologies at the enterprises of the SoC.

The possibilities of machine translation in the era of total digitalization seem limitless, however, for poetic text, electronic translation technology has limited application. For the analysis and comparison of machine and literary translation, the text of Coleridge’s 1798 poem “The Rime of the Ancient Mariner” was taken for it uses the theme of the sea, which is extremely important in the poet’s work. This poem was translated by N.S. Gumilev in 1919: the translation was made more than a hundred years after the date of the creation of the original, and the author of the translation had to take into account the context of the creation of the work. The translation generated by modern technologies involves the work of a self-learning neural network which is based on corrections made by users. Online translation technology allows users who believe that the translation is inaccurate to either choose from several proposed options or make their own. On the one hand, due to the constant work of users and their corrections, the translation has the property of self-learning and implies that each subsequent translation is better than the previous one. On the other hand, for texts created 200 years ago, this technology may turn out to be unproductive: most texts translated using an electronic translator are modern, they take into account current realities and contexts of use. To test this hypothesis, an experiment was conducted: translations of the same text by the translator-poet of the Silver Age and the modern electronic translator Google were compared. An electronic translation cannot explicitly take into account the rhythmic structure of the text, the assonances and alliterations used in it, etc., however, it can convey the general meaning of the text, its content. It seems interesting that in the text generated by electronic translation, new semantic connections arise which are absent in the original and in the translation of the poet. Keywords: Translation, neural network, digitalization, Gumilev, Coleridge
