The task of our science of medicine, to put it briefly, is to heal the suffering man; but this simple and briefly expressed task is extremely difficult, extremely responsible, and the possibility of its fulfillment is achievable only with the satisfaction of certain well-known requirements. Among these requirements, it is necessary to mention the desire to establish an understanding of the average normal human organism, a clear idea of normal individual deviations, the study of conditions that are conducive not only to the preservation, but also to the prosperity of these two types of life in the study of the wide sense of the causes of this organism; hence the need to establish an understanding of "diseases", their types, signs, reasons in each individual case ...

The subject matter with which we have here to deal may be distributed under the following headings :— (1) Determination of the nature of the action which is exerted upon the Staphylococcus pyogenes by normal human blood fluids, and by the blood fluids of patients who have been inoculated with a staphylococcus vaccine. (2) Comparison of the phagocytic power of the subjects of staphyloeoccus invasion with the phagocytic power of normal individuals. (3) Distribution in the infected organism of the opsonins which here come into consideration. (4) Determination of the question as to whether the opsonins are present in the blood of the infant at birth. (5) Determination of the course of the reaction of immunisation which supervenes upon the inoculation of a staphylococcus vaccine.

AbstractA radiographic planimetric study of mastoid air cell system was carried out on 100 normal human subjects of which 50 were males and 50 females–who were further subdivided into five age groups. They had no history of past ear disease or any other clinical ENT abnormality. The mean area of the mastoid air cell system was measured planimetrically on X-rays and the data analysed according to age and sex. It was 12.05±0.67 cm2 in males and 11.45±0.70 cm2 in females (which are more or less the same as that of Western people). The size of the cranial bones has no apparent role in the size variation of the mastoid air cell system. The development of the latter was very rapid up to 10 years of age in both sexes and it continued even after 20 years of age but at a much slower rate.

We propose to consider in this communication (1) the action exerted upon the tubercle bacillus by normal human blood fluids and the tuberculotropic substances which come here into consideration; (2) the action exerted upon the tubercle bacillus by the blood fluids of those who are the subject of tubercular infection; (3) the distribution of tuberculotropic substances in the infected organism; (4) the question as to whether these protective substances are present in the blood of the infant at birth; and (5) some points in connection with the elaboration in the human organism of tuberculotropic substances in response to inoculations of a tubercle vaccine.

The theater, in which the actors are people with autism spectrum, has not yet been researched extensively. Most of the texts consider the therapeutic contexts of theatrical activity performed by people with autism spectrum, or even interventions against them using theatrical techniques. In this article, the author looks for a different perspective on the phenomenon of theater activities performed by people with autism spectrum. The presented research was aimed at showing the activities of "Authentic Artists" theater in two dimensions: personal and social. The research method used was a qualitative study of an individual case, which was the theater group of people with autism spectrum "Authentic Artists" from Łódź. The research showed that theatrical activity can be a source of personal satisfaction and fulfillment for people with autism spectrum. The theater also turned out to be a place to establish relationships and make friends. It has been shown that the activity of "Authentic Artists" has also an emancipatory potential, being a space for searching for their own forms of identity and creativity.
