Potential of palm oil’s waste (solid) as ruminant feed in Pelalawan district of Riau ProvinceABSTRACT. The objective of this study was to know potential of solid waste in Pelalawan district, Riau province. Research was carried out from December 2007 – January 2008 in Pelalawan district by using 4 factories of Elaeis guineensis (PKS). The four factories that were used for data collection were PT. Multi Palma Sejahtera (MPS), PT. Inti Indo Sawit Subur (IIS), PT. Sinar Agro Raya (SAR) and PT. Musim Mas (MM). The results of study showed that solid waste in Pelalawan district of Riau province had a great potential. Production of solid waste in Pelalawan district was around 76.176 tons/year and carrying capacity was 5.132 animals unit. Farmers will use solid waste at large quantity if they raise livestock in commercially, for instance for fattening purpose. The strategies which can be applied to maximize solid waste utilization are through partnership between farmers and factories or local government pihak PKS.

Basically, nature has the ability to perform the restoration of environmental damage caused by increased human activity, but because of the limited carrying capacity, then the environment has decreased the quality from year to year. In saving the environment, technology plays a role in reducing the risk of pollution, increased efi siensi process, and creating processes and environmentall friendly products, monitoring and prediction of environment quality, environmental pollution control, restoration and environmental improvement. Waste Technology (end of pipe technology) are widely used to cope with environmental pollution, both for liquid waste, solid and air. Waste processing technology developed for the waste can be in accordance with quality standards thathave been established, while monitoring technology has been developed either manually or automatically. For recovery and improvement of technology has been developed remedies and restoration that rely on bacteria in nature. Keywords: end of pipe technology, reuse, recycle, reduce (3R), carrying capacity, and environment pollution

This study aims to describe the role of local government and the participation of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises in the development of Plastic Woven Crafts in Karanggebang Jetis Village, Ponorogo Regency. The theory used in the formulation of the first problem regarding the role of local government uses the theory of Gede Diva (2009) which divides the role of government in three ways, namely the role of government as a facilitator, the role of government as regulator and the role of government as a catalyst. Second, the participation of UMKM actors uses the theory of Cohen and Uphoff in Distianto (2016) into four forms of participation, namely participation in planning, participation in implementation, participation in the utilization of results and finally participation in evaluation. This research uses the descriptive qualitative method. The technique of determining informants using purposive sampling techniques and data collection techniques carried out through interviews, observations, and documentation. The results of this research in the efforts to develop UMKM Plastic Weaving Crafts in Karanggebang Jetis Village, Ponorogo Regency, in general, there has been no interference from the government and UMKM entrepreneurs. So far, plastic woven crafts are still not developed. To develop UMKM especially plastic woven handicrafts located in Karanggebang Jetis, it is necessary to have the role of government and participation of UMKM actors.

The management of municipal solid waste (MSW) appears to be one of the major ecological problems at present. Selecting sites for the disposal of municipal solid wastes or waste utilization facilities is one of the most contentious aspects of waste management. The present study aimed to develop the methodology to assess the natural protection of the geological environment from contamination upon the implementation of large ecological projects due to the allocation of MSW utilization facilities. The case of the Central Federal District of Russia (CFD) is taken as an example. The suitability of territories for municipal solid waste disposal is assessed according to the presence of weakly permeable deposits in the geological cross-section and their occurrence mode. A “map of engineering geological zoning CFD by the conditions of allocation MSW disposal sites and utilization facilities” has been compiled to a scale 1:2500000. The map gives a general indication of the suitability of the planned sites for waste disposal within the regarded region and showed that, for the bulk of territory, the allocation of MSW disposal and management facilities requires undertaking additional measures for the geoenvironmental protection from contamination.

Kata Kunci: Kota Cimahi, Peta Area Berisiko, Persampahan ABSTRACTCimahi City is one of the cities in West Java that still faces solid waste problems, such as the limited implementation of waste sorting activities, the limited number of temporary shelter sites, the indiscriminate waste disposal on river, open burning of solid waste, etc. In following up on these various waste problems and achieving the target of 30% waste reduction determined by the National Strategic Policy, an instrument is needed to analyze risk areas based on the level of risk of solid waste per village in Cimahi City. These risk areas are depicted in the form of maps by referring to the 2018 District/City Sanitation Strategy Guidelines. Risk areas are assessed through a score of 1 s.d. 4 for very low, low, high and very high risks. The score is obtained by multiplying the Impact parameters and Exposure parameters. The results of this study indicate that there are three villages with very high risk of solid waste, namely Kelurahan Cibeureum, Setiamanah, and Padasuka and one village with high risk of solid waste, namely Kelurahan Melong. The addition of the number of processing units was recommended in several villages so that changes in the score of risk areas occurred. Keyword: Cimahi City, Map of Risk Areas, Waste Solid
