Abstrak. Tanaman padi merupakan salah satu komoditas pangan di dunia yang terkena dampak perubahan iklim global. Perubahan iklim menyebabkan perubahan pada pola musim, sehingga petani sulit untuk memprediksikan waktu tanam. Hal ini akan menimbulkan pengaruh negatif terhadap produktivitas tanaman pangan, terutama pada tanaman padi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pertumbuhan dan produktivitas hasil beberapa varietas padi pada intensitas cahaya yang berbeda.Penelitian ini menggunakan Rancangan Petak Terpisah (RPT) pola RAK 2x3 dengan 3 ulangan sehingga terdapat 6 kombinasi perlakuan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perlakuan intensitas cahaya berpengaruh sangat nyata terhadap jumlah malai. Perlakuan intensitas cahaya juga berpengaruh nyata terhadap tinggi tanaman umur 8 dan 9 MST, jumlah anakan umur 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, dan 9 MST, berat gabah per rumpun dan potensi hasil per hektar. Sedangkan perlakuan varietas menunjukkan pengaruh yang sangat nyata terhadap tinggi tanaman umur 4, 5, 7, dan 8 MST, umur berbunga, umur panen, panjang malai, berat 1000 butir, berat gabah per rumpun, dan potensi hasil per hektar. Perlakuan varietas juga berpengaruh nyata terhadap tinggi tanaman umur 6 dan 9 MST, jumlah anakan umur 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, dan 9 MST, serta jumlah malai.Hasil penelitian menunjukkan pertumbuhan dan hasil tanaman padi terbaik terdapat pada perlakuan intensitas cahaya tinggi (4179 foot-candles) dengan varietas terbaik adalah Sanbei.Effect of light intensity on growth and yield of some varieties of rice plantAbstract. Rice plant is one of the world's food commodities affected by global climate change. Climate change causes changes in season patterns, so farmers are difficult to predict planting time. It will have a negative effect on the productivity of food plants, especially in rice plant. This study aimed to know the growth and productivity of several rice varieties at different light intensity.This research using Split Plot Design (RPT) with randomized block design factorial patterns 2x3 with 3 replications so that there are 6 combination of treatment. The results showed that the light intensity had a very significant effect on number of panicles. Light intensity treatment also had significant effect on plant height aged 8 and 9 weeks after planting (WAP), number of tillers aged 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, and 9 WAP, grain weight per hill and yield potential per hectare. The varieties treatment showed very significant effect on plant height 4, 5, 7, and 8 WAP, flowering age, harvest age, panicle length, 1000 grain weight, grain weight per clump, and yield potential per hectare. Varietal treatment also had significant effect on plant height aged 6 and 9 WAP, number of tillers aged 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, and 9 WAP, and number of panicles.The results showed the best growth and yield of rice plant found in high intensity light treatment (4179 foot-candles) with the best varieties is Sanbei.

Penelitian bertujuan mengetahui: 1) dosis optimum inokulasi Lemna polyrhiza (Lp) bagi padi di lahansawah, 2) waktu inokulasi Lp terbaik bagi pertumbuhan dan produksi padi sawah, dan 3) interaksi dosis dan saatinokulasi Lp bagi padi sawah. Rancangan percobaan adalah Rancangan Acak Kelompok Lengkap (RAKL) tigakali ulangan. Faktor yang dicoba: 1) dosis aplikasi Lp (D): D0 (kontrol atau tanpa Lp); D1 (25 g Lp m-1); D2 (50g Lp m-1), dan D3 (75 g Lp m-1), serta 2) saat inokulasi Lp (P): P1 (padasaat tanam padi) dan P2 (14 hari setelahtanam padi). Variabel yang diamati: tinggi tanaman, jumlah anakan produktif, tingkat kehijauan daun, bobot jeramiper rumpun, bobot jerami/ha, jumlah gabah per malai, bobot 1000 biji, bobot gabah kering/ rumpun, serapannitrogen, dan prosentase penutupan petak percobaan oleh Lp. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa inokulasi Lpmemberikan pengaruh sangat nyata terhadap variabel tingkat kehijauan daun dengan hasil tertinggi pada perlakuanD2 (50 g Lp m-1) dan prosentase penutupan petak percobaan oleh Lp dengan hasil terbaik pada perlakuan D3 (75g Lp m-1). Hasil gabah tertinggi dicapai oleh perlakuan D1P1 dengan rata-rata hasil 1,56 ton/ha (konversi). Saatinokulasi Lp berpengaruh nyata terhadap bobot seribu biji, bobot tertinggi pada perlakuan P1 (bersamaan saattanam padi); prosentase penutupan percobaan petak oleh Lp terbaik pada perlakuan P1 (bersamaan saat tanampadi). Kombinasi perlakuan berpengaruh nyata terhadap prosentase penutupan petak percobaan oleh Lp denganhasil terbaik pada perlakuan D3 x P2 (75 g Lp m-1 yang diberikan 14 hari setelah tanam padi).Kata kunci: Padi, L. polyrhiza, dosis dan saat inokulasi L. polyrhizaABSTRACTThis research aimed to found-out: 1) the optimum dose of Lemna polyrhiza (Lp) innoculation to lowlandrice, 2) the best innoculation time of Lp to growth and yield of lowland rice, and 3) the dose and inoculation timeinteractions of Lp torice. Thehighest rice yield was achieved by D1P1 by 1,56 ton/ha (conversion average). Innoculation time of Lp gavesignificant effect: to 1000 grain weight at P1 (at rice planting) as the best results, and to the Lp coveringpercentage (the best result was P1). Hitherto, there is scarcity of information on the usefulness of neglected small corms and cormels of cocoyam in the South West Nigeria. A 9 (nine) months trial was conducted to compare the growth and yield performance of different types of cocoyam planting materials with treatment consisting of T1; sprouted small cocoyam cormels, T2, trimmed out lower parts of harvested cocoyam corm and T3; moderate sized corm of 50-100g (control) arranged in a Randomised Complete Block Design (RCBD) with three replicates. Data on the number of leaves and plant height was taking at 4 week interval for 24 weeks while data on number and weight of harvested cormels was taking at 9 months after planting (MAP). The data collected were subjected to a univariate General Linear Model (GLM) two ways Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) using IBM SPSS software statistical package 21. Significance mean differences were separated using Duncan Multiple Range Test (DMRT) at 0.05 level of significance. The result showed that the highest mean number of leaves and plant height was obtained from treatment T1 (10.22) and T2 (92.83) respectively at 24 weeks after planting (WAP). While both treatment T1 and T3 collectively had the highest number of consumable cormels (54.0) in which treatment T3 weighed the highest (3.202 kg). There was no significant difference (P>0.05) in both the number of leaves produced and plant height among the different cocoyam planting materials utilised at 24 (WAP). Similarly, there was no significant difference (P>0.05) in the number and weight of cormels produced by the different treatments at 9 months after planting (MAP). The study therefore concluded that both sprouted small cocoyam cormels, trimmed out corms during planting compared favourably with moderate sized corm of weight 50-100g commonly used as planting material in term of yield potential and therefore recommended to be schedule for demonstration to cocoyam farmers in the study area for adoption.

Posbidik compost is an innovative product that is expected to solve the scarcity of subsidized fertilizers for farmers. The principle of the jajar legowo planting system is to increase plant population and lowland rice production. This study aimed to determine the influence of posbidik compost and jajar legowo planting system on the growth and yield of Ciherang rice varieties. This study was conducted on irrigation paddy fields owned by farmers in West Toili District, Banggai Regency, in August-December 2020. This study used a factorial randomized block design consisting of 2 factors, namely posbidik compost consisting of 3 levels, namely: K1 = 5 tons/ha; K2 = 7.5 tons/ha; K3 = 10 tons / ha, and planting system legowo 2:1 line consisting of 3 levels, namely: L1 = 20 x 10 x 40 cm; L2 = 25 x 12.5 x 50 cm; L3 = 30 x 15 x 60 cm. The results showed that the interaction of posbidik compost and jajar legowo planting system does not affect the plant height; however, it affects the number of productive tillers, the weight of 1000 grains and productivity. The results showed that the best performance of the yield rice in the treatments of 7.5 tons/ha posbidik dose with planting space of 25 x 12.5 x 50 cm.

Abstrak. Cabai merah merupakan komoditas hortikultural yang termasuk golongan sayuran rempah yang termasuk famili terung-terungan dan sebagai penyedap masakan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat pengaruh pemberian jenis pupuk organik terhadap pertumbuhan dan hasil tanaman cabai merah dan untuk melihat pengaruh varietas terhadap pertumbuhan dan hasil tanaman cabai merah serta untuk mengetahui ada tidaknya interaksi antara jenis pupuk organik dan varietas cabai merah. Penelitian ini dilakukan pada bulan Januari sampai dengan bulan Juni 2019. Penelitian ini menggunakan Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK) pola faktorial. Faktor yang diteliti terdiri dari dua faktor yaitu pupuk organik dan varietas. Faktor pertama jenis pupuk organik yang terdiri dari  3 taraf yaitu kontrol, pupuk kandang sapi dan pupuk kandang ayam, sedangkan faktor kedua varietas cabai merah yang terdiri dari 3 taraf yaitu Varietas TM-999, varietas Odeng dan varietas Lede Uwe gayo. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perlakuan pupuk organik berpengaruh sangat nyata terhadap jumlah buah per tanaman dan berat buah per tanaman serta terdapat pengaruh yang nyata  terhadap jumlah cabang produktif dan potensi hasil ton/ha, namun terdapat pengaruh tidak nyata terhadap tinggi tanaman umur 15, 30 dan 45 hari setelah tanam dan diameter batang umur 15, 30 dan 45 hari setelah tanam. Pemberian pupuk organik pada berat buah per tanaman dan potensi hasil terbaik diperoleh pada pemberian pupuk kandang ayam. Sedangkan perlakuan varietas berpengaruh sangat nyata terhadap jumlah cabang produktif, berat buah per tanaman dan potensi hasil, namun terdapat pengaruh yang tidak nyata terhadap tinggi tanaman umur 15, 30 dan 45 hari setelah tanam, diameter batang umur 15, 30 dan 45 hari setelah tanam dan jumlah buah per tanaman. Jumlah cabang produktif, berat buah per tanaman dan potensi hasil tanaman cabai merah terbaik diperoleh pada penggunaan varietas TM 999. Terdapat interaksi yang sangat nyata antara pupuk organik dengan varietas terhadap jumlah buah per tanaman, berat buah per tanaman dan terdapat interaksi nyata terhadap potensi hasil. Kata kunci : Cabai Merah, Pupuk Organik, VarietasAbstrac. Red chili is a horticultural commodity that belongs to the spice vegetable group and part of the eggplant family that is used as a food flavoring. This study aims to look at the effect of applying organic fertilizer on the growth and yield of red chili plants;to see the effect of varieties on the growth and yield of red chili plants; and to find out whether there is an interaction between types of organic fertilizer and red chili varieties. This study employed factorial randomized block design (RBD) with two factors studied namely organic fertilizer and varieties. The first factor is the type of organic fertilizer consisting of 3 levels, namely control, cow manure and chicken manure, while the second factor is red chili varieties consisting of 3 levels, namely the TM-999 variety, Odeng variety and the Gayo Lede Uwe variety. The results showed that the treatment of organic fertilizer had a very significant effect on the number of productive branches and the potential yield of tons/ha, but there was no significant effect on plant height at ages 15, 30 and 45 days after planting and stem diameter 15, 30 and 45 days after planting. The fertilizer application at the fruit weight per plant and the best potential results obtained in the provision of chicken manure. Whereas, the treatment of varieties has a very significant effect on the number of productive branches, fruit weight per plant and yield potential, but there is no significant effect on plant height 15, 30 and 45 days after planting, stem diameter 15, 30 and 45 days after planting and number of fruits per plant. The number of productive branches, fruit weight per plant and the best yield potential of red chili plants were obtained from the use of TM 999 varieties. There was a very real interaction between organic fertilizer and varieties on the number of fruits per plant; fruit weight per plant; and there was a real interaction with yield potential.Keywords:Red Chili, Organic Fertilizer, Varieties

Abstrak. Tanaman padi Terdiri dari 16 galur sebagai perlakuan dan terdiri 3 kelompok sebagai ulangan. Masing-masing unit perlakuan diambil sampel sebanyak 5 individu tanaman. Peubah yang diamati adalah tinggi tanaman, jumlah anakan, umur padi berbunga, jumlah malai per rumpun, panjang malai, berat malai per rumpun, persentase gabah bernas per rumpun, persentase gabah hampa per rumpun, berat 1000 butir, indeks panen dan potensi hasil. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan genotipe padi mutan generasi M4 berpengaruh nyata terhadap pertumbuhan dan hasil tanaman yang diamati berdasarkan peubah tinggi tanaman umur 30, 60, 90 HST,umur tanaman berbunga dan pada saat panen jumlah malai per rumpun, panjang malai, berat bernas, berat 1000 butir, indeks panen dan potensi hasil. Galur padi mutan menunjukkan pertumbuhan hasil yang berbeda dengan tanaman induknya sambay. Galur Unsyiah 11 (UF5) menunjukkan genotipe dengan potensi hasil yang lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan dengan genotipe induk dan genotipe lainnya. Berdasarkan hasil iradiasi sinar gamma M4 menunjukkan adanya perbedaan nilai antar tanaman induk sambay dengan galur lainnya. Morpho-agronomic Performance on Mutant Strain Rice Generation (M4) The Result of Gamma Ray Radiation Abstract. Rice crops planted in a field with soil entisol type by using organic fertilizer i.e. manure which is given a week before planting and chemical fertilizer formed of  NPK that is given at the age of the plant 30 days after the day of planting (DAP). The experimental design used non factorial randomized block design. There were 16 strains as treatment and 3 groups as replicates. Each of the treatment unit was sampled as many as 5 individual plants. The variables observed were plant height, number of tillers, age of flowering rice, number of panicles per hill, panicle length, panicle weight per hill, percentage of pithy grain per hill, percentage of empty grain per hill, weight of 1000 grains, harvest index and yield potential. The results showed that genotypes of M4 mutant rice generation had significant effect on growth and yield of plants which observed based on plant height variable 30, 60, 90 DAP, age of flowering rice, and number of panicle per hill at the harvest time, panicle length, pithy rice, weight of 1000 grains, harvest index and yield potential. The mutant rice strains showed different growth results with the parent plant. The Unsyiah 11 (UF5) strain is a genotype with higher yield potential compared to the host genotype and other genotypes. Based on the result of M4 gamma ray radiation showed there is adifference between sambay parent plants with other strains.

Abstrak. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh dosis ampas tahu dan konsentrasi pupuk agrobost serta interaksi antara terhadap pertumbuhan dan hasil tanaman jagung manis. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di Kebun Percobaan dan Laboratorium Fisiologi Tumbuhan Fakultas Pertanian Universitas Syiah Kuala Banda Aceh pada bulan Januari sampai April 2018. Rancangan yang digunakan adalah Rancangan Acak Kelompok pola faktorial 4 x 3 dengan 3 kali ulangan. Faktor pertama adalah dosis ampas tahu dan faktor kedua adalah konsentrasi pupuk Agrobost. Peubah yang diamati yaitu tinggi tanaman, diameter batang, panjang tongkol berkelobot, panjang tongkol tanpa kelobot, berat tongkol berkelobot, berat tongkol tanpa kelobot dan potensi hasil. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa dosis ampas tahu berpengaruh sangat nyata terhadap tinggi tanaman 45 HST, diameter batang umur 30 HST dan 45 HST, panjang tongkol berkelobot, tanpa kelobot, berat tongkol berkelobot dan tanpa kelobot, potensi hasil berkelobot dan tanpa kelobot, berpengaruh nyata terhadap tinggi tanaman 15 HST dan 30 HST serta diameter batang 15 HST. Perlakuan konsentrasi pupuk Agrobost berpengaruh sangat nyata terhadap diameter batang 30 dan 45 HST, panjang tongkol berkelobot, panjang tongkol tanpa kelobot, berat tongkol berkelobot, berat tongkol tanpa kelobot, potensi hasil berkelobot dan potensi hasil tanpa kelobot. Namun tidak berpengaruh nyata terhadap tinggi 15 dan 45 HST serta diameter 15 HST. Tidak terdapat interaksi yang  nyata antara dosis ampas tahu dan konsentrasi pupuk Agrobost terhadap semua peubah  pengamatan.  Perlakuan dosis ampas tahu 10, 20 dan 30 ton/ha  memberikan pertumbuhan dan hasil jagung  manis yang sama baiknya, namun dari segi ekonomis 10 ton/ha lebih efektif untuk digunakan. Perlakuan pupuk agrobost yang lebih baik di jumpai pada konsentrasi 15 ml/l air yang memberikan pertumbuhan dan hasil jagung manis dibandingkan dengan kontrol dan 30 ml/l air.Kata kunci : Ampas Tahu, Agrobost, Jagung ManisEfect of Dosage Tofu Dregs and Agrobost Fetilezer to Growth and Yield of Sweet Corn Crops Zea mays saccharat Sturt.Abstrack. This research was conducted to know wheter the effect of dosage tofu dregs and agrobost fertilizer consentration and interaction between both of it to growth and yield of sweet corn crops. This research did at. Experimental Farm and Plant Phaysiology Laboratory of Syiah Kuala University, Banda Aceh, on January to April 2018. The design was used  Randomized Block Design (RBD) 4 x 3 factorial pattern with 3 times repeated. The first factor was dosage of tofu dregs (D) and the second factor was agrobost consentration (T). The observed variables were plant height, stem diameter, length of cob weighted, length of cob without weighted, weight of cob weighted, weight of cob weight without weight and yield potential. The results showed that dosage of tofu dregs very significant effect on plant height of 45 DAP, stem diameter of 30 DAP and 45 DAP, length of cob weighted, length of cob without weighted, weight of cob weighted and weight of cob without weighted, yield potency of cob weighted and yield potency of cob without weighted. The significant effect on  plant height of 15 DAP and 30 DAP and stem diameter of 15 DAP. Agrobost fertilizer concentration was very significant effect on stem diameter of 30 and 45 DAP, length of cob weighted, length of cob without weighted, weight of cob weighted, weight of cob without weighted, yield potency of cob weighted and yield potency without weighted. However, no significant effect on the plant height of  15 and 45 DAP and the diameter of 15 DAP. There were no interaction between dregs of tofu and Agrobost fertilizer concentration on all observation parameters. The treatment of  dregs tofu 10, 20 and 30 tons/ha the same growth and yield of sweet corn, but terms of economical 10 tons/ha is more effective to use. The treatment of agrobost fertilizer  was found better at concentration of 15 ml/l water which gave growth and sweet corn yield compared to the control and 30 ml/l water.Keyword: Dregs of Tofu, agrobost, Sweet Corn

Abstrak. Penelitian tentang Pengaruh Konsentrasi Pupuk Organik Cair Nasa dan Jarak Tanam Terhadap Pertumbuhan dan Hasil Tanaman Bawang Merah (Allium ascalonicum L). Asal Biji, telah dilakukan di Kebun Percobaan dan Laboratorium Hortikultura Fakultas Pertanian Universitas Syiah Kuala Darussalam Banda Aceh. Penelitian dimulai dari bulan Januari sampai Juni 2016. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui  pengaruh konsentrasi pupuk organik cair Nasa dan jarak tanam terhadap pertumbuhan dan hasil tanaman bawang merah, serta interaksi antara kedua factor tersebut. Rancangan yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah Rancangan Acak Kelompok faktorial yang terdiri atas 2 faktor dengan pola 3 x 3. Faktor pertama adalah konsentrasi pupuk organik cair Nasa dan faktor kedua adalah jarak tanam. Parameter yang diamati meliputi tinggi tanaman umur 20, 40, 60 HSPT, jumlah daun umur 20, 40, 60 HSPT, bobot berangkasan basah, bobot berangkasan kering, berat umbi kering, jumlah umbi, diameter umbi dan potensi hasil. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan konsentrasi pupuk organik cair Nasa berpengaruh sangat nyata terhadap tinggi tanaman umur 20 HSPT, bobot berangkasan basah, bobot berangkasan kering, berat umbi kering, jumlah umbi, potensi hasil, serta berpengaruh nyata terhadap tinggi tanaman umur 40 HSPT. Pertumbuhan dan hasil terbaik dijumpai pada konsentrasi 5 ml/L air. Jarak tanam berpengaruh sangat nyata terhadap tinggi tanaman umur 40 HSPT, jumlah daun umur 40 HSPT, berat umbi kering, potensi hasil, serta berpengaruh nyata terhadap bobot berangkasan kering. Pertumbuhan dan hasil terbaik dijumpai pada jarak tanam 15 cm x 15 cm. Terdapat interaksi yang sangat nyata antara konsentrasi pupuk organik cair Nasa dengan jarak tanam terhadap tinggi tanaman 20 HSPT, serta interaksi yang nyata terhadap bobot berangkasan basah, bobot berangkasan kering dan potensi hasil. Interaksi terbaik diperoleh pada kombinasi perlakuan antara konsentrasi pupuk organik cair Nasa 5 ml/L air dengan jarak tanam 15 cm x 15 cm.Effect of Nasa Liquid Organic Fertilizer Concentration and Planting Distance to Growth and Red Onion Plant Results (Allium ascalonicum L). The Origin of Seeds, has been done in the Experimental Garden and Horticultural Laboratory of the Faculty of Agriculture, Syiah Kuala University of Darussalam Banda Aceh. This study starts from January to June 2016. This study aims to determine the effect of Nasa liquid organic fertilizer concentration and plant spacing on the growth and yield of shallot crops, and the presence or absence of interaction between the two factors. The design used in this research is Randomized Block Design The factorial pattern consists of 2 factors with 3 x 3 pattern. The first factor is the concentration of liquid organic fertilizer Nasa and the second factor is plant spacing. The parameters observed were plant height of 20, 40, 60 HSPT, number of leaves aged 20, 40, 60 HSPT, wet weighted weights, dry weighted weights, tuber weight, tuber number, tuber diameter and yield potential. The results showed that the concentration of Nasa liquid organic fertilizer had very significant effect on plant height of 20 HSPT, wet trimmed weight, dry weighted weight, dry bulb weight, tuber number, yield potential, and significant effect on plant height of 40 HSPT. The best growth and yield is found at a concentration of 5 ml / L of water. Plant spacing has a very significant effect on plant height of 40 HSPT, number of leaves aged 40 HSPT, weight of dry bulb, yield potential, and significant effect on dry-weighted weights. Growth and yield of best plants are found at plant spacing of 15 cm x 15 cm. There is a very real interaction between the concentration of Nasa organic liquid fertilizer with plant spacing to plant height of 20 HSPT, as well as the apparent interaction of wet weighted weights, dry weighted weights and yield potential. The best interaction was obtained by a combination of the treatment of concentration of liquid organic fertilizer Nasa 5 ml / L of water with spacing of 15 cm x 15 cm.

<p><em>Farmyard manure and a</em><em>zolla</em><em> </em><em>are</em><em> </em><em>potential</em><em> sources of organic fertilizer in </em><em>organic </em><em>paddy field</em><em>. This study aimed to determine the effect of using </em><em>farmyard manure and </em><em>azolla</em><em> on </em><em>growth and yield of</em><em> </em><em>rice</em><em> crop. The research method was field trial in </em><em>an </em><em>organic paddy field,</em><em> Sukorejo Village, Sragen, Indonesia. Experimental design which used was a completely randomized block design with 9 kinds of treatment which are repeated in 3 blocks. </em><em>Th</em><em>ese kind of treatments were the using</em><em> of farmyard manure, azolla fertilizer, azolla inoculum, and the combinations </em><em>which is based on</em><em> </em><em>the fulfillment of</em><em> nutrient requirements of 120 kg N ha<sup>-</sup><sup>1</sup>. </em><em>Farmyard</em><em> manure significantly increase</em><em>d</em><em> the fresh weight of </em><em>biomass</em><em> (two-way ANOVA F = 3.13 p &lt;</em><em> </em><em>0.05), the weight of grains per panicle (two-way ANOVA F = 3.36 p &lt;</em><em> </em><em>0.05) and dry grain harvest (two-way ANOVA F = 3.71 p &lt;</em><em> </em><em>0.05). Azolla fertilizer significantly increase</em><em>d</em><em> </em><em>the </em><em>plant height (two-way ANOVA F = 2.93 p &lt;</em><em> </em><em>0.05). Meanwhile azolla inoculum </em><em>did not give</em><em> significant effect on all parameters (both growth and yield). Dry grain harvest </em><em>has </em><em>very </em><em>significant correlation </em><em>with </em><em>plant height (0.68<sup>**</sup>); fresh weight of </em><em>biomass</em><em> (0.79<sup>**</sup>); weight of grains per panicle (0.61<sup>**</sup>)</em><em>;</em><em> and grain weight of 1,000 seeds (0</em><em>.</em><em>48<sup>*</sup>). The result of F test and correlation analysis showed that </em><em>farmyard</em><em> manure significantly increase</em><em>s</em><em> the dry grain harvest through its role on increasing</em><em> </em><em>the weight of fresh </em><em>biomass</em><em> and grain weight per panicle. Azolla fertilizer also significantly increase</em><em>d</em><em> </em><em>the dry grain harvest through its role on increas</em><em>ing the</em><em> plant height. However, the effect of Azolla fertilizer to increase the dry grain harvest </em><em>was </em><em>weaker than </em><em>farmyard</em><em> manure.</em></p>

This research was conducted in order to investigate the effects of time of planting on the grain yield and yield components of three advanced lines of rice under the Agro Ecological Zone (AEZ), Modhupur Tract. The research was conducted as a split plot using Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD) with three replications in the Aman season of 2016 under the research field of Bangladesh Rice Research Institute (BRRI), Gazipur. In this research, the dates 01 August, 16 August, 31 August and 16 September were considered as the main factor in the main plots, and the advanced lines/varieties BR(Bio)9786-BC2-119-1-1, BR(Bio)9786- BC2-132-1-3 and BRRI dhan49 (check variety) were regarded as the secondary factors in the sub plots. The results showed that planting time significantly affected the plant height, the number of panicle per meter square, the number of tillers per meter square, the number of grains per panicle, 1000-grain weight and grain yield. Among the cultivars, the advanced line BR(Bio)9786-BC2-119-1-1 and BR(Bio)9786-BC2-132-1-3 produced significantly higher plant height, the number of panicle, the number of tillers, the number of grains per panicle, 1000- grain weight and grain yield than check variety BRRI dhan49 in all transplanting dates. The advanced line BR(Bio)9786-BC2-119-1-1 and BR(Bio)9786-BC2-132-1-3 produced average 1.02 and 0.57 t ha-1 higher yields respectively over the check variety BRRI dhan49 under the transplanting date 01 August to 31 August. The highest growth duration (130-146 days) was observed for the check variety BRRI dhan49 that followed by BR(Bio)9786-BC2-132-1-3 (132- 141 days) and BR(Bio)9786-BC2-119-1-1 (130-140 days) Res. An experiment was conducted in the Agriculture Field Laboratory, Noakhali Science and Technology University (NSTU) to evaluate the effects of age of seedlings on the yield and growth performance of transplanted Aus (T. Aus) rice variety from April 2019 to July 2019. The experiment was carried out assigning four age of seedlings (T1 = 22-day old, T2 = 24-day old, T3 = 27-day old, T4 = 30-day old) and two rice varieties (V1 = BRRI dhan83, V2 = BRRI dhan65). The experiment was laid out in a Randomized Complete Block Design with three replications. In case of variety, the highest plant height (102.108 cm), the highest grain yield (2.643 t/ha), and the highest harvest index (32.317%) were obtained in BRRI dhan83 where the lowest plant height (87.804 cm), the lowest grain yield (2.431 t/ha) and the lowest harvest index (32.068%) were obtained in BRRRI dhan65. The age of seedlings had significantly affected total tillers/hill, effective tillers/hill, panicle length in T. Aus rice variety. The highest plant height (98.16 cm), straw yield (6.122 t/ha), the maximum number of effective tillers/hill (15.347) were obtained in 24 days old seedlings. The highest grain yield (2.634 t/ha) was obtained from 27 days old seedlings, and the highest harvest index (33.88%) was obtained from 22 days old seedlings. The lowest grain yield (2.429) was obtained from 24 days old seedlings, and the lowest panicle length (13.753 cm), harvest index (30.467%), and the minimum number of effective tillers/hill (13.753) were obtained from 30 days old seedlings. The lowest straw yield (5.075 t/ha) and plant height (93.16 cm) were obtained from 22 days old seedlings. In case of interaction, the highest plant height (104.667 cm) and the harvest index (34.86%) were observed in BRRI dhan83 at 27 days old seedlings. The highest straw yield (5.805 t/ha) was observed in BRRI dhan65 at 30 days old seedlings. The maximum number of effective tillers/hill (18.519) was observed in BRRI dhan83 at 24 days old seedlings. The highest grain yield (2.94 t/ha) was observed in BRRI dhan83 at 22 days old seedlings. The lowest plant height (80.67 cm) was observed in BRRI dhan65 at 27 days old seedlings. The minimum number of total tillers/hill (17.01) was observed in BRRI dhan83 at 22 days old seedlings; lowest panicle length (20.78 cm), the minimum number of grains/panicle (68.07) were observed in BRRI dhan65 at 24 days old seedlings; 1000 grains weight (22.76 g), the lowest grain yield (2.18 t/ha) were observed in BRRI dhan83 at 24 days old seedlings; the lowest straw yield (4.54 t/ha) was observed in BRRI dhan65 at 22 days seedlings old and lowest harvest index (29.09%) were observed in BRRI dhan65 at 30 days old seedlings. Based on the above results, it may be concluded that almost all of the yield and yield contributing characters of T. Aus rice performed best under the interaction between age of seedlings 22 days old seedlings and the variety BRRI dhan85.
