New wetlands field generally has low productivity, so a technology is needed for improve productivity. New Superior Variety (NSV) is a technology that is considered easy to be adopted by farmers, so knowing a NSV that is able to adapt to the characteristics and conditions of new wetlands field is a must. The study of adaptive NSV on new wetlands field in Boven Digoel Regency is still limited so that the NSV recommendation for farmers is also still limited. The purpose of this study was to examine the growth and production of new superior varieties on the new wetlands fields in Boven Digoel Regency. The study was conducted on new wetlands in Asiki Village, Jair District during April-August 2019. Randomized Complete Block Design was employed with 3 replications using Inpari 36, Inpari 37, Inpago Rindang 1, Inpago Rindang 2 dan Inpara 8. The results showed different varieties perform different agronomy characters observed (plant height, number of tillers, panicle length, number of grains per panicle, filled grain, per panicle, empty grain per panicle and 1000 grain weight). Inpari 37 produced 5.3 ton/ha Dried Unhulled Rice, the highest production compared to other varieties, so that it could potentially be developed in Boven Digoel’s new wetlands field. Productivity may still be increased by improving soil fertility conditions.

Shallots is one of the important commodities in Indonesia. Demand for these commodities always increases along with population growth. To fulfill this demand, the production of shallots must always be increased. One way to increase the production of shallots is by fertilizing. This study aims to determine the dosage of NPK fertilizer which gives the best results for the growth and yield of shallots. The study was carried out in Sentani District, Papua Province, from November 2016 until March 2017.The study used the Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD) with three treatments NPK Phonska fertilization (NPK 15-15-15 composition) and four repplication. NPK fertilizer used were: 1) NPK 300 kg/ha, 2) 250 kg/ha, and 3) 200 kg/ha. The meterials used were shaloot bulbs Keta Monca cultivar. The plot size was 1 x 5 m, with a spacing of 15 x 15 cm. NPK fertilizer was given at the age of 14 and 30 days after planting respectively with the dose of ½. The variables observed were plant height, leaf number, bulbs number per sample, diameter of bulbs, dry weight bulb per hectare The results showed that the treatment of NPK fertilizer dosage did not give a significant effect on almost all observation variables except on the dry weight of eskip bulb, where the treatment dose of 200 kg/ha NPK fertilizer gave the highest yield compared to other treatments. When observed from the growth components and production components, the dose of NPK fertilizer 200 kg/ha is the most consistent to provide better growth and yield.

An experiment was set up in the Research Farm of Patuakhali Science and Technology University, during the rabi season of 2015 to evaluate the effect of fertilizers and manures on the growth and yield of Potato. The experiment was laid out in a Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD) with two potato varieties namely Diamant (V1) and Cardinal (V2) and five different types and rates of organic manures and inorganic fertilizers viz. T0: Control , T1: NPK, T2: NPK + CW(Cowdung), T3: NPK+ PM(Poultry Mannure) and T4: CW(Cowdung), + PM(Poultry Mannure) were used for the present study. The two–factor experiment was laid out in a Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD) with three replications. Result showed that almost all the characters were affected significantly due to the effect of varieties, organic–inorganic fertilizer and their combinations .In case of treatments, NPK with PM also showed the tallest plant (39.76 cm), highest fresh and dry weight (95.97 and 6.05 g plant–1, respectively), CGR and RGR (0.086 and 0.218 g m–2 day–1, respectively), gross (24.36 t ha–1) and marketable (23.39 t ha–1) compared other treatments. In case of interaction, the highest plant height (41.00 cm), highst fresh and dry weight (96.87 and 3.62 g plant–1, respectively), highest CGR and RGR (0.089 and 0.228 g m–2 day–1, respectively) as well as the highest gross (24.45 t ha–1) and marketable (23.67 t ha–1) yield were recorded in Diamant at NPK with PM. From the above observation it may be concluded that the variety Diamant at NPK + PM was more effective under Patuakhali region.Progressive Agriculture 27 (4): 435-443, 2016

Abstract This study aims to determine the effect of treatment of fertilization time and dosage of nitrogen to the growth and yield of peanut plants. This experiment is a two-factor experiment with incomplete randomized block design. The first factor is the time (S) of fertilizer consisting of three levels: During planting (S0), 15 days after planting (S1), 30 days after planting (S2), The second factor is the dosage of Nitrogen (N) fertilizer consisting of three levels: 25 kg/ha (N1), 50 kg/ha (N2). The results showed that treatment of fertilization time and a dose of nitrogen showed no significant effect on plant height, maximum leaf number, leaf area index, the total pod containing, total void pod, total pod number, oven dry weight of oven plants, and harvesting index. The interaction of nitrogen dose with a time of fertilization gave a very real effect to most observed variables except for maximum plant height, maximum leaf number, leaf area, harvest index that is not significant. The high dry weight of seed oven per plant was obtained at the fertilizer interaction treatment at 15 days after planting and the dose of nitrogen 25 kg/ha was 30.33 g and or increased by 152.75% and when compared with the control of 12.00 g. From a result of regression analysis got an optimum dose of nitrogen fertilizer that is 34.15 kg/ha with the dry weight of oven seeds per plant maximum 26.73 g. Keywords: Fertilization time, nitrogen dosage, peanut result

This study aimed to observe the growth and yield of Chiherang rice (Oryza sativa L) and weeds in response of different planting methods and weeding frequencies. We conducted the study in Semampir, Argorejo, Sedayu Sub-district, Bantul District on April until August, 2018. We arranged field study using randomized complete block design in 3x2 factorials with 3 times repetition. First factor was Jajar legowo (J) stratified as 3 levels; 2:1 (J1), 4:1 (J2), dan 6:1 (J3). Second factor was weeding frequency in 2 levels which were 2 times in 14 and 70 hst (P1) and 3 times in 14, 49 and 70 hst (P2). Observed variables include Ciherang rice growth (plant height, total tillers, percentage of productive tillers, fresh and dried weight of each plant), components of rice yield (grain dry weight of each harvest, percentage of filled grains, yield of each hectares), and weeds (type of weeds, fresh and dry weight of weeds). We analyzed results using variance analysis with significant level of 5%, followed with 5% DMRT test. We found that application of jajar legowo planting method and weeding frequency do not correlates with all growth and weeding frequency variables of Ciherang rice and weeds. 2:1, 4:1 and 6:1 jajar legowo planting methods do not show significant impact both on Ciherang rice growth and yield, and also weeds. Both 2 times (14 and 70 hst) and 3 times (14, 49 and 70 hst) also do not have significant impact on all variables observed. Keywords: Jajar Legowo, Weeding Frequency, Ciherang Rice

ABSTRACT The objective of this work was to evaluate the growth and yield of cowpea grains in different intercropping systems with millet, in wet and dry seasons. The experiments were performed in the experimental field of the Department of Plant Science of the Federal Rural University of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, using a randomized block design with three replications and five treatments: T1- sole crop of millet; T2- sole crop of cowpea; T3- intercrop of millet (1 row) and cowpea (1 row) with 0.5 m between rows (1Mx1C-0.50); T4 - intercrop of millet (1 row) and cowpea (1 row) with 0.75 m between rows (1Mx1C-0.75); and T5 - intercrop of millet (1 row) and cowpea (2 rows) with 0.5 m between rows (1Mx2C-0.50). The cowpea shoot dry weight, root dry weight, number and dry weight of nodules, grain yield and 1000-grain weight, and the millet fresh weight, shoot dry weight, grain yield and 1000-grain weight were evaluated. The land-use efficiency index (LUE) showed significant differences in yield between the sole crop of cowpea and the intercropping system, with greater grain weight in the intercrop 1Mx2C-0.50. On the other hand, the intercrop 1Mx1C-0.75 was not recommended for the study conditions.
