Open innovation has emerged as a topic of great importance due to the recognized benefits that it brings to the company's business performance; however, it has been sparsely addressed in SMEs from developing countries. Therefore, this study aims to analyze and discuss the relationship between open innovation and business performance in family and non-family SMEs in Mexico. A survey-based study was carried out on a sample of 308 firms. Following this, the data was analyzed through a structural equation model. The results show that for these companies, the outflow and especially the inflow of external knowledge exert a positive influence on business performance.

A sharing economy is developing rapidly worldwide, especially in China. Trust has been considered as a crucial factor in facilitating the practice of the short-term rental business, where hosts and renters are strangers. However, not only has the inherent trust-building mechanism of this newly emerged business model not been fully explored, but how cultural values affect the trust-building path also remains unknown. This study proposes a model of the trust-building mechanism in the sharing economy platforms, with three central modes—institutional trust, product trust, and interpersonal trust—and introduces national cultural values dimensions at the individual level as moderators to explore the impact on the inherent mechanism of trust-building on Airbnb. The data collected from 210 Chinese Airbnb consumers by survey provides support for the proposed structural equation model. The results show that institutional trust has a positive influence on product trust and interpersonal trust, and that product trust has a positive influence on interpersonal trust as well. For the moderating effect of cultural values, the relationship between the institutional trust and product trust is regulated by power distance (PDI), individualism (IDV), uncertainty avoidance (UAI), and long-term orientation (LTO), while the relationship between product trust and interpersonal trust is regulated by PDI, IDV, and UAI. This paper indicates that in order to foster trust in the sharing economy, practitioners should enhance institutional trust, product trust, and interpersonal trust synchronously, as these three modes of trust are positively inter-related; they must also be sensitive to local cultural value dispositions when conduct sharing business internationally.

Knowledge economy era is an era driven by innovation, mainly based on the input of intangible assets which plays decisive roles in the long-term development of enterprises. The product value of enterprises is largely determined by their intellectual capital. Therefore, as pillars of China’s economy, construction enterprises must strengthen their investments in intellectual capital, and to achieve competitiveness in the market, enterprises must share knowledge with the other members of their networks. This study explores the relationship among the intellectual capital, knowledge sharing, and innovation performance of construction enterprises and the mediating effect of knowledge sharing on the relationship between intellectual capital and innovation performance by using data collected from a questionnaire survey. These data are analyzed along with the aforementioned relationships by using SPSS and a structural equation model. The findings indicate that intellectual capital not only has a direct positive influence on the innovation performance of construction enterprises but also positively affects their innovation performance through knowledge sharing. This paper concludes by presenting its limitations and the implications of its findings.

Title: The Effect of Supply Chain Management on The Business Performance of Vaname Shrimp Farming in The Province of Bali and East JavaVaname is one of Indonesia’s leading export commodities in the international market. The exported vaname are the products from aquaculture business which are spread in various provinces in Indonesia, so an optimal supply chain is needed to support this business. The purpose of this study is to analyze supply chain management affects the competitive advantage of a vaname farming business and the impact on the performance of the business. The research sites are East Java and Bali because of the strong connectivity between each farmer in both locations. The collected data is verified and then analyzed using the Structural Equation Model (SEM) approach. The results of the analysis concluded that the relationship between suppliers and human capital variables had a positive effect on the competitive advantage of farmers and also had a positive effect on the performance of the aquaculture business. While the relationship with customer variables do not affect both competitive advantage and business performance. From this result, the government is expected to be able to intervene in the form of improved management of the vaname supply chain by increasing the competence of each member of the supply chain so that it can be optimally positioned.

Abstract The analysis of interorganizational relationships continues to attract academic research because of the influence that management of supply chain relationships has in business competitiveness. However, there are almost no studies about this decision in the mineral products industry. The purpose of this study is to investigate customer-supplier relationships in the non-metallic mineral products mining and manufacturing industry in order to determine what relational forms enable achieving better business competitiveness and higher quality relationships. To carry out this research, we propose a cohesive model comprising variables to characterize the transactions, the forms of governance and both economic and relational results. The paper is based on a transactional framework; thus, the adoption of one or another form of governance is addressed through the length of the relationship, the transmission of information and the dependencies between the agents. As for the outcome, the quality of the relationship is highlighted because of its importance in business competitiveness. The relational quality is understood as the stability of the relationship or the importance given by the buyer to maintaining the relationship or relational commitment. The hypotheses generated are contrasted by a structural equation model in a sample of 293 Spanish companies. The results confirm the importance of past relationships and integrated forms to get better results. In this sense, managers should encourage trust and dependencies because they positively affect performance. Trust and dependencies determine the choice of a vertical form of governance, and these factors, along with information, intervene in the quality of business relationships. Thus, it is possible to say that forms of governance do have effects on the interrelations between the characteristics of the transactions and the business performance.

This study examines shopper satisfaction toward an online purchasing model in small and medium restaurants (SMRs), including the quality of e-service and food, with perceived value as the determinants. For this research purpose, 392 data gathered from online restaurant shoppers in Bandung, Indonesia. This study adopts the Structural Equation Model (PLS) to evaluate shopper satisfaction relations with its determinants as well as consequences. The results uncover that both the quality of e-service and food on shopper satisfaction is essential, and disclose the partial mediation function of perceived value to assess the relationship between both qualities on shopper satisfaction. This study offers a guide to SMR managers to enhance their business performance by focusing on the quality of food, instead of focusing on both the quality of e-service and food. In terms of online service-based businesses, this research implies that the SMRs need to collaborate with reliable online platform service providers.
