Background: The present study was conducted to assess the knowledge, attitude and practice regarding Tuberculosis among non TB patients in Udaipur.Methods: A cross sectional study conducted at Geetanjali Medical College and Hospital, Udaipur among the non TB patients during the period of 1st June 2015 to 31st December 2016 after obtaining Ethical clearance from Human Research Ethical Committee. Study was conducted on 220 patients using a pre tested questionnaire after taking their verbal consent to participate in study.Results: Insignificant difference in knowledge about TB was found between male and female respondents. More than 65% of respondents found to have correct knowledge regarding sign and symptom, mode of acquiring TB and mode of preventing TB.Conclusions: Health education directed towards improve knowledge and bringing a change in attitude and practice among non TB patients is needed to create awareness and remove myths about tuberculosis in groups of people in the community.

Introduction: Adhering to the astrological recommendations on timing of invasive therapies are a standard practice in gSo-wa Rig-pa based Bhutanese Traditional Medicine. The day (for La-dza, Sog-dza and Shey-dza), lunar date (for La-ney) and time within the day of surgery (for La-ney), along with Wang-thang (field of power) and Lung-ta (Horse of fortune) are important astrological recommendations. However, there are no information about the patients’ knowledge, attitude and practice on astrological recommendations for timing of surgery in an allopathic setting in Bhutan. The study was conducted to assess the knowledge, attitude and practice of considering Buddhist astrological recommendations among patients undergoing elective surgeries. Methods: A cross-sectional study with convenient sampling was conducted at the National Referral Hospital, Thimphu from April to May 2018. Data were collected using a pretested interviewer-administered questionnaire. Ethical clearance was obtained from the Research Ethics Board of Health, Bhutan. Results: From 420 participants (response rate 99.5%), 188 (44.8%) were aware that there are astrologically determined good timings to undergo elective surgeries. Only four persons (1.0%) were aware about La-ney. Among those who believed in such astrological recommendations, the attitude were more favourable towards the areas in which they had higher knowledge. Conclusion: The patients had very poor knowledge about the astrological recommendations to choose the timing for surgery. A well designed study on the effect of astrological recommendations on the surgical outcomes is recommended for generating evidence for further action.

Abstract Objective An already overwhelmed health system with many sporadic outbreaks is now threatened by the COVID-19 epidemics. Person-to-person transmission is currently ongoing in the country, making it necessary to control the disease. To guarantee successful disease control, the knowledge, attitudes and, practices people hold towards the disease play an integral role. Therefore, the aim of this study was to determine the knowledge, attitude, and practice towards COVID-19 among antenatal care clients of Adama Hospital Medical College, Adama, Ethiopia. Results A cross-sectional study was conducted from May 6, 2021, to May 31, 2021. Among the 292 study participants, 222 (75.3%) had good knowledge and 70 (24%) moderate knowledge status. Significant number of respondents 131 (44.9%) had neutral attitude while 159 (54.5%) had positive attitude. The prevalence of poor practice was 61 (20.9%). Majority of the respondents, 136 (46.6%) had moderate practice level.

Aim and Objective: To assess the level of awareness among local adult population (orthodontically untreated) regarding orthodontic treatment and procedures. Materials and Methods: A cross-sectional study was planned by accessing 100 subjects comprising of 2 groups (50 male and 50 female). After due ethical clearance, a self-structured questionnaire consisting of 17 questions was given to a group of randomly selected 100 individuals with an age range of 20 to 30 years. Results: The overall awareness of orthodontics as a speciality among both the groups was only 52% to 56%. Statistically insignificant difference was found in the knowledge and awareness of orthodontic treatment among both male and female subjects, that is, Group I and II. Also, those who knew about the orthodontic treatment did not opt for it because of high cost and longer duration involved. Conclusion: More than half of the population is unaware of the scope of orthodontic treatment, and thus, they do not seek any assistance. Hence, more efforts are needed to create awareness about orthodontics and the associated benefits.
