Women smoking is looked down upon by Indian society. However, a young woman smoking is not a rare sight on college campuses in metro cities. Substantial body of literature indicates that nicotine is the major component which leads to addiction. The habit which starts to look cool and fashionable in no time becomes an addiction. Indian society, which doesn’t acknowledge that women are indulging in smoking, makes the whole fight about tobacco addiction a turbulent journey. As society doesn’t accept that women smoke, there is no need to create awareness about its gendered impact. The study was undertaken by evaluating the oromucosal conditions and haemoglobin levels of 100 women smokers. Smokers’ palate, smoking associated pigmentation on lips and calculus deposits were observed in most of the participants. The participants were not aware about the hormonal issues and detrimental side effects of smoking to their health.

A young woman with chronic cannabis use presents with 2-day history of cyclical nausea, vomiting and abdominal pain. Clinical and laboratory examination excluded other causes. Patient’s symptoms improved with topical capsaicin, hot showers, antiemetics and she was subsequently discharged home 4 days later. The patient was educated on side effects of cannabis use and chose to stop cannabis use completely.

Education is the cornerstone of human life. Only through education can a person be able to achieve a specific personality. Sometimes illiterate person is also effective; However, due to lack of education, he is mainly attached to his environment, due to which he is often unable to give wide range of his specialties so that he can benefit the entire Indian and foreign citizens. The current global scenario indicates that a country whose citizens are deprived of education cannot sustain on the global plane. In the Indian perspective, many problems related to children's education are becoming visible, due to which every section of Indian society is not developing equally. Even after many government schemes, the problems related to children's education remain the same and Indian intellectual property is declining.

Computational methods for Target Fishing (TF), also known as Target Prediction or Polypharmacology Prediction, can be used to discover new targets in small-molecule drugs. This may result in repositioning the drug in a new indication or improving our current understanding of its efficacy and side effects. While there is a substantial body of research on TF methods, there is still a need to improve their validation, which is often limited to a small part of the available targets and not easily interpretable by the user. Here we discuss how target-centric TF methods are inherently limited by the number of targets that can possibly predict (this number is by construction much larger in ligand-centric techniques). We also propose a new benchmark to validate TF methods, which is particularly suited to analyse how predictive performance varies with the query molecule. On average over approved drugs, we estimate that only five predicted targets will have to be tested to find two true targets with submicromolar potency (a strong variability in performance is however observed). In addition, we find that an approved drug has currently an average of eight known targets, which reinforces the notion that polypharmacology is a common and strong event. Furthermore, with the assistance of a control group of randomly-selected molecules, we show that the targets of approved drugs are generally harder to predict.

The changes wrought in the last 10 years alone are sufficiently awesome to astound and confuse any Rip Van Winkle who may have managed to sleep through the decade. As with all man-made marvels, however, along with the much touted fabulous benefits and glittering accomplishments, it seems there always exist undesirable side effects. One side effect of the technological revolution with the potential to cause harm is an inclination by some people, most notably students in higher education, for excessive and compulsive Internet use. Often called Internet addiction, this disorder is particularly prevalent on the campuses of colleges and universities, and for some students, it has the potential to be as destructive as excessive use of alcohol, tobacco or drugs. This chapter talks about Internet overuse on college campuses in general and discusses a survey of 305 University of Guam students regarding their Internet use.

INTRODUCTION: Clozapine is the antipsychotic of choice in the treatment of refractory schizophrenia. However, its side effects, such as eosinophilia, may preclude its use. METHODS: Case report and literature review. RESULTS: Young woman, 19 years old, diagnosed with hebefrenic schizophrenia, admitted at Unicamp's psychiatry ward after psychotic symptoms relapse. Clozapine was started after unsuccessful attempts with risperidon and olanzapine. By the fourth week of clozapine use, eosinophils began to increase. Drug titration was stopped, but eosinophils counts continued to rise up, reaching the mark of 5200/mm³. Due to severity of psychotic symptoms and to the good response obtained with clozapine, we decided to investigate organs involvement before withdrawing the medication. As the patient had no organs involvement, clozapine was maintained and one month after eosinophils peak, it was already normalized. CONCLUSION: Eosinophilia should not necessarily lead to clozapine's withdrawal. Patients who present eosinophilia must be at rigorous observation for organs involvement, and if there is no such involvement, clozapine might be maintained, considering the possible benign and transitory nature of the eosinophils count elevation.

Captopril is known to be effective for the control of hypertension in adults.1,2 Several recent reports have described the efficacy of this drug in children3,4 and neonates.5 Side effects include neutropenia, proteinuria, rashes, ageusia, hypotension, and hyperkalemia. Farrow and Wilkinson6 described a case of reversible renal failure during therapy with captopril in a young woman with severe hypertension secondary to renal artery stenosis. However, renal failure is not a well-appreciated side effect of this drug and has not been described previously in a pediatric patient during treatment with captopril. We report two cases in which a reversible decline in renal function occurred in children being treated with captopril.

Abstract Background Vaccination against COVID-19 continues apace, but side-effects, both common and severe, continue to be reported. We report here the first published case of COVID-19 vaccine-related encephalitis. Case presentation A young woman presented with acute neuropsychiatric symptoms following recent ChAdOx1 nCoV-19 vaccination. Extensive investigation did not identify alternative causes. Conclusions This difficult case is here described, including presentation, investigation, and management. Further study on neuropsychiatric side-effects of COVID-19 vaccination, including investigation as to whether there may be a causal link, is required.

It is perhaps one of the most important characteristics of the past decade in astronomy that the evolution of some major classes of astronomical objects has become accessible to detailed research. The theory of the evolution of individual stars has developed into a substantial body of quantitative investigations. The evolution of galaxies, particularly of our own, has clearly become a subject for serious research. Even the history of the solar system, this close-by intriguing puzzle, may soon make the transition from being a subject of speculation to being a subject of detailed study in view of the fast flow of new data obtained with new techniques, including space-craft.
