This descriptive-correlational study aimed to determine the prevalence of depression, anxiety, and stress among three hundred twenty (320) senior high school students in selected private schools in Kabankalan City, Negros Occidental, Philippines when they are taken as a whole and grouped according to sex, career track, living arrangement and family monthly income. Specifically, it aimed to determine if there is a significant relationship between the level of depression, anxiety, and stress, and demographic profile of the senior high school students. The data were gathered through the Depression, Anxiety, and Stress Scale (DASS-21). The results of the study revealed that there were significant relationships among the selected demographics, namely, between living arrangement and anxiety, and between sex and stress. Results have an implication on the practice of guidance and counseling and in mental health practice. The findings of this study provided baseline information for an enhanced guidance program.

Learning Japanese has become very common amongst Taiwanese high school and university students, ranking thesecond most sought for language. A concise study of the likeable activities in a typical language class for theTaiwanese students seems to be quite useful. Therefore, the present study has concentrated on the senior high schoolstudents’ opinion about the ideal Japanese class. Subjects in this research were 478 students (181 boys, and 297 girls)in nine private schools in three counties. The instrument was a 10-item multiple-choice Chinese questionnaire basedon Littlewood (2010). The findings illustrated that females and males had similar opinions concerning thecommunicative language activities in an ideal Japanese class. They revealed much more differences related tonon-communicative activities, though. Moreover, both boys and girls displayed the highest interest in a relaxed classatmosphere, and the lowest interest in the usage of smartphones in the activities in the class.

Abstract: The process of preparing to take the test SNMPTN is something that often makes prospective students experiencing various problems. I prepare for the selection of the necessary physical, material, and also psychological. This research was initiated from the problems that occurred in the preparation of the admission public universities by students coming from private schools . These problems such as high school rules violations / lack of discipline, learn less motivated to learn. This condition greatly affects the readiness of students to achieve success SNMPTN pass. This study aimed to describe the readiness of high school students college entrance exams and the role of BK teacher / school counselor. The study population is students of SMA Muhammadiyah 1 Metro are 212 students. This type of research is quantitative descriptive, and the questionnaire used as an instrument of collecting data. The results showed that the average score of 80.53 with an average percentage of 26.84%, are in the category is not ready. BK teacher's role in preparing students in private schools that help students related to school by making a counseling program, either individually or in the classical style. Increase cooperation with fellow teachers and parents and guardians to fostering the development of children's potential.Keywords: Readiness, Students, Counselor role

<p>Os insetos são responsáveis por importantes atividades para o homem e os ecossistemas. No entanto, eles geralmente são associados principalmente aos danos ou prejuízos causados ao homem. O objetivo desse estudo foi analisar a percepção entomológica de alunos do ensino médio da cidade de Patos, Paraíba. Para isso foram aplicados questionários semiestruturados contendo questões sobre os insetos, durante o mês de agosto de 2012. Foram entrevistados 316 alunos, sendo 190 de escolas particulares e 126 de públicas. Do total de entrevistados 62,4% foram do sexo feminino e 37,5% masculino. 56,3% responderam acertadamente que os insetos pertencem ao filo Arthropoda, 37% que possuem 3 pares de pernas e 78,2% que podem ser reconhecidos pelo número de pernas, pela presença de antenas e de olhos. Para 82,6% dos entrevistados os insetos possuem importância positiva e negativa. Alimento para outros seres vivos e transmissão de doenças as mais assinaladas com 20,3% e 25,8% respectivamente. Dos animais percebidos como insetos os mais citados foram besouro, mosquito e barata, sendo aranha o animal mais confundido e assinalado como inseto. Observou-se que o tipo de didática adotada em sala de aula pelos professores não tem tido muito sucesso na fixação desse conteúdo pelos alunos.</p><p align="center"><strong><em>Entomological perception from high school students from city schools Patos, Paraiba, Brazil</em></strong></p><p><strong>Abstract</strong><strong>: </strong>Insects are responsible for important activities for humans and ecosystems. However, they are usually associated mainly to the damages or losses caused to humans. The aim of this study was to analyze the entomological perception of High school students from the city of Patos, Paraiba. For this semi-structured questionnaires containing questions about insects were applied, during the month of August 2012. 316 students were interviewed, being 190 from private schools and 126 from public schools. From the total respondents 62.4% were female and 37.5% male. 56.3% correctly answered that insects belong to the phylum Arthropoda, 37% having three pairs of legs and 78.2% that can be recognized by the number of legs, by the presence of antennae and eyes. For 82.6% of respondents insects have positive and negative significance. Food for other living beings and transmission of diseases the most marked with 20.3% and 25.8% respectively. From the animals perceived as insects the most mentioned were beetle, mosquitoes and cockroaches, being the spider the animal which was most mistaken and reported as insect. It was noted that the type of didactic adopted in the classroom by teachers has not had much success in fixing of this subject by the students.</p><br /><strong></strong>

Background: High school students have a far-reaching discernment when it comes to opting a vocation this is because decisions made in the senior year of school concretes their future. Physiotherapy is a health-maintenance craft that necessitate appraisal and drawing out a diagnosis to heal deterioration, improve vigor, and hence improve standard of living. This study evaluated the perception of high school students about physiotherapy as a profession and career option. Methodology: Based on the inclusion and exclusion criteria 200 high school students were selected using cluster sampling. Outcome measures used a self-made questionnaire sculpted as Google form which was sent to students from standard IX to XII. Bearing physiotherapy as an option within health sciences domain in mind, various types of questions specific to physiotherapy department, its practice areas, and the course study were put forth to these students through the online questionnaire. Results: The percentage of students who considered physiotherapy as a career option in medicine was 59% but, 72.5% were not aware of the eligibility criteria for entering a physiotherapy degree program and 73.5% did not know about the pathological conditions treated in physical therapy although, 81% agreed that physical therapy is effective in reducing pain. Mixed opinions were noted on physical therapy as profession as good (46.5%), very good (24%), excellent (23%) and not good (6.5%). Conclusion: Conclusion of above study is that the awareness among students of senior secondary section of private schools across the city of Ludhiana in Punjab is less than half of the percentage in most of the questions of surveyed population. None of the students were able to complete the whole questionnaire perfectly. Key words: awareness; physiotherapy; private schools; career options; students.

  El estudio tuvo como objetivo evaluar con fines diagnósticos la formación conceptual en la asignatura de Educación Física, en estudiantes chilenos de enseñanza media. El estudio fue metodológicamente de corte descriptivo transversal. Participaron 659 estudiantes, 54% (hombres) y 46% (mujeres), con edades entre los 13 y 14 años, de las tres dependencias educativas del país; municipal (36.4%), subvencionado (37.8%) y privado (25.8%). Se realizó un muestreo probabilístico estratificado según dependencia educativa y sexo de los estudiantes. Para la recolección de los datos se aplicó un cuestionario diseñado y validado con estudiantes del currículo chileno. Los principales resultados indican que existen diferencias estadísticamente significativas entre las dependencias educativas, con resultados específicos de la prueba Anova de f = 48.584 p < .05 a favor de los colegios particulares. En conclusión, el estudio muestra un bajo dominio disciplinar de los alumnos y alumnas en las diferentes dependencias educativas, manifestando, una vez más, la necesidad de buscar metodológicas innovadoras para la disciplina, en función de mejorar los resultados de la dimensión conceptual. Abstract. The study aimed at diagnosing the conceptual formation in physical education in Chilean high school students. The study used a descriptive cross-sectional methodology. A total of 659 students participated, 54% boys and 46% girls, aged between 13 and 14 years old, from the three educational units in the country; public schools (36.4%), subsidized schools (37.8%) and private schools (25.8%). A stratified probabilistic sampling was performed based on students’ educational dependence and gender. For the data collection, a questionnaire designed and validated with students of the Chilean curriculum was applied. The main results indicate that there are statistically significant differences between educational units, with specific results from Anova of f = 48,584 p <.05 in favor of private schools. In conclusion, the study shows a low disciplinary domain of the students in the different educational units, highlighting once more the need to seek innovative methodologies within this discipline in order to improve the learning of its conceptual dimension.

A modification of the Paired-Stimuli Parent Program (Florance, 1977) was adapted for the treatment of articulatory errors of visually handicapped children. Blind high school students served as clinical aides. A discussion of treatment methodology, and the results of administrating the program to 32 children, including a two-year follow-up evaluation to measure permanence of behavior change, is presented.
