This study aims to determine the amount of income from lowland rice farming, determine the factors that affect the income of lowland rice farming and determine strategies for increasing the income of lowland rice farming in Tebing Tinggi City. The study was conducted in Tebing Tinggi City, North Sumatra Province which was carried out for 3 months, namely April - June 2017. The research approach was conducted descriptively through case studies. Data collection techniques carried out by observation, interviews, and filling out questionnaires. Data analysis methods used include R / C ratio analysis, regression analysis and Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats (SWOT) analysis. The results showed that lowland rice farming in Tebing Tinggi City was profitable with an R / C ratio of 2.54, the factors of production significantly affected the income of lowland rice farming in Tebing Tinggi City, and strategies in increasing the income of lowland rice farming in Tebing Tinggi City i.e. utilizing farmers' motivation to activate farmers' institutions in managing their farming, utilizing local government support and availability of vacant land to increase land area and access to capital, utilizing farmers' experience and using superior seeds to increase production and utilizing information and marketing technology that is easy to maintain economic value and meet consumer needs

The program of“Asuransi Usaha Tani Padi” (AUTP) (Rice Farming Insurance) is the government’s program aims to protect the farmers from any harm caused by crop failure influenced by natural disaster such as flood, drought and pest attack. The AUTP program in Aceh was held since 2015, but the implementation expected was far from target determined. This research purposed to find out the participation range of farmers in AUTP program and several factor which influenced the achievement of AUTP Program. The research location was in Aceh Besar District and taking samples in 6 Sub-districts consist of Suka Makmur, Kuta Cot Glie, Seulimum, Indrapuri, Lhoong and Montasik. The respondents was 94 persons were chosen by purposive sampling. The data used in this research were primary and secondary data. Primary data were taken from interview and questionaire. The research variables of this study were farmers participation on some stage as proses, result enjoyment and evaluation of several factors from reapondents such as age, education, land area, income, program advantages and government support. The data analysis used were scoring and regresi logit analysis. The result of the analysis sais that the farmers participation on stage of proccess and evaluation were categorized medium while on the stage of result enjoyment was categorized high. The government support on the achievement of AUTP was higer than other factors

xiii Rice (Oryza sativa L.) is the major staple food crop of Nepal. A research was conducted in December, 2019 to examine the economic viability of organic rice farming and factors affecting its adoption. Fulbari area of Chitwan district of Nepal was purposively selected for this study on consultation with Agriculture Knowledge Centre, Chitwan and review of past works which showed good practice of organic rice farming. A total of 100 farm households, 50 organic and 50 inorganic were selected using simple random sampling. Primary data were collected through a pre-tested semi-structured interview schedule, while secondary data were collected from related publications. The probit regression analysis showed that the six variables were statistically significant for the decision to adopt organic rice farming, they are: number of schooling years of the household head (p= 0.014), annual household income from agriculture (p= 0.012), membership of any agricultural organization (p= 0.000), subsidy in other inputs in addition to seed and fertilizers (p= 0.000), area of rice cultivated land (p= 0.007) and awareness on climate change (0.086). The benefit cost ratio of organic rice production (2.2) was higher as compared to inorganic (1.9) which showed that the profitability in organic rice production was higher than in inorganic. Furthermore, indexing identified- lengthy certification process (0.85) as the first major hindrance in adoption of organic rice farming followed by lack of proper organic market (0.68), high cost of organic seed and fertilizer (0.56), lack of knowledge and trainings on organic farming (0.48) and lack of government support such as grants and premium price (0.44) as the second, third, fourth and fifth hindrances respectively. The government should promote organic rice farming, prioritizing the small scale and marginal farmers by giving subsidies and premium, facilitating in certification and marketing, and providing knowledge about climate change.

Amorphous silicon PECVD photonic integrated devices are promising candidates for low cost sensing applications. This manuscript reports a simulation analysis about the impact on the overall efficiency caused by the lithography imperfections in the deposition process. The tolerance to the fabrication defects of a photonic sensor based on surface plasmonic resonance is analysed. The simulations are performed with FDTD and BPM algorithms. The device is a plasmonic interferometer composed by an a-Si:H waveguide covered by a thin gold layer. The sensing analysis is performed by equally splitting the input light into two arms, allowing the sensor to be calibrated by its reference arm. Two different 1 × 2 power splitter configurations are presented: a directional coupler and a multimode interference splitter. The waveguide sidewall roughness is considered as the major negative effect caused by deposition imperfections. The simulation results show that plasmonic effects can be excited in the interferometric waveguide structure, allowing a sensing device with enough sensitivity to support the functioning of a bio sensor for high throughput screening. In addition, the good tolerance to the waveguide wall roughness, points out the PECVD deposition technique as reliable method for the overall sensor system to be produced in a low-cost system. The large area deposition of photonics structures, allowed by the PECVD method, can be explored to design a multiplexed system for analysis of multiple biomarkers to further increase the tolerance to fabrication defects.

The stability of Russian banking sector is threatened by three negative tendencies - overheating of the credit market, significant decrease of banks capital adequacy ratios, and growing problems associated with banks lending to affiliated non-financial corporations. The co-existence of these processes reflects the crisis of the model of private investments in Russian banking sector, which was observed during the last 20 years. This paper analyzes the measures of the Bank of Russia undertaken to maintain the stability of the banking sector using the methodology of credit risk stress-testing. Based on this methodology we conclude that the Bank of Russias actions can prevent the overheating of the credit market, but they can also lead to undesirable effects: further expansion of the government ownership in Russian banking sector and substitution of domestic credit supply by cross-border corporate borrowings. The later weakens the competitive positions of Russian banks. We propose a set of measures to harmonize the prudential regulation of banks. Our suggestions rely on design and further implementation of the programs aimed at developing new markets for financial services provided by Russian banks to their corporate and retail customers. The estimated effects of proposed policy measures are both the increase in profitability and capitalization of Russian banks and the decrease of banks demand for government support.

Relevance. Grain is the key to strategic products to ensure food security. From this point of view, the creation of large grain farms is a matter for the country's selfsufficiency and it leading to a decrease in financial expense for import. Creation of such farms creates an abundance of productivity from the area and leads to obtaining increased reproductive seeds. The main policy of the government is to minimize dependency from import, create abundance of food and create favorable conditions for export potential. The purpose of the study: the development of grain production in order to ensure food security of the country and strengthen government support for this industry. Methods: comparative analysis, systems approach.Results. As shown in the research, if we pay attention to the activities of private entrepreneurship in the country, we can see result of the implementation of agrarian reforms after which various types of farms have been created in republic. The role of privateentrepreneurshipinthedevelopmentofproduction is great. Тhe article outlines the sowing area, production, productivity, import, export of grain and the level of selfsufficiency in this country from 2015 till 2017.
