Pyotr Alexandrovich was born in 1871 in Florence in the family of Professor A. A. Herzen of the University of Lausanne. In 1896, he studied at the medical faculty of the University of Lausanne and began working at the Caesar Roux Clinic. In 1997, Pyotr Alexandrovich received a Doctor of Medicine degree and, fulfilling his grandfather's will, left for Russia. In 1898, P. A. Herzen received a Russian diploma of a doctor with honors. Then Pyotr Alexandrovich worked as an external doctor until 1900, and then until 1920, with breaks for service in the army as a military surgeon he was a resident of the surgical department of the Old Catherine Hospital in Moscow. During the Russian-Japanese War, Pyotr Alexandrovich was a surgeon on the Manchurian front, a surgeon in the active army during the First World War, and a consultant at the 151st military hospital during the Civil War. In 1909, he defended his dissertation for the degree of Doctor of Medicine in Russia. In 1917, he became the head of the Department of Operative Surgery, in 1921-General Surgery of the 1st Moscow State University. The clinical base of the department was the Institute for the Treatment of Tumors (now the P. A. Herzen Moscow Research Oncological Institute), the director of which was P. A. Herzen from 1922 to 1934. In 1926, he was first elected chairman of the Surgical Society of Moscow, and in 1929 the XXI Congress of Russian Surgeons. In 1934, Pyotr Alexandrovich became the head of the Department of Hospital Surgery of the 1st Moscow Medical Institute and in the same year he was awarded the honorary title of Honored Scientist of the RSFSR, and in 1939 he was elected a corresponding member of the USSR Academy of Sciences. He created the world's first pre-thoracic artificial esophagus (1907), was the first in the USSR to perform thoracoscopy for chronic pleural empyema (1925), suturing of a heart wound (1904), liver resection, developed a number of original operations: intra-abdominal fixation of the rectum when it falls out; application of cholecystoenteroanastomosis (1901), cholecystectomy, trans-vesical prostatectomy (1906); omentorenopexy of the lower pole of the kidney (1913); operations for anterior cerebral, inguinal and femoral hernias; developed the principles of surgical treatment of traumatic aneurysms. He also made a significant contribution to solving the problems of vascular surgery, oncology, urology, cardiac surgery, etc. He published 84 scientific papers, including 5 monographs. P. A. Herzen created the largest school of Soviet surgeons, oncologists. He was an honorary member of the French Academy of Surgery, the International Society of Surgeons, chairman of the surgical societies of the RSFSR and the USSR (1926-1928; 1935-1936), the XXI and XXIV All-Union Congresses of Surgeons (1929, 1938). P. A. Herzen was awarded two Orders of the Red Banner of Labor, medals, including "For the Defense of Moscow". P. A. Herzen died in January 1947 and was buried in Moscow. The Moscow Research Oncological Institute, the periodical " Oncology. The journal named after P. A. Herzen". A memorial plaque in his honor is installed in the First Moscow State Medical University named after I. M. Sechenov. His name is given to surgical operations used for anterior craniocerebral and femoral hernias, hydronephrosis, cryptorchidism, the creation of an artificial esophagus from the small intestine, esophagoejunostomy after removal of the stomach, and others.

Mayat Valentin Sergeevich - surgeon, doctor of medical sciences (1946), professor (1950), Honored Worker of Science of the Russian Federation, Hero of Socialist Labor (1969), laureate of the USSR State Prize (1976, 1987).Mayat Valentin Sergeevich was born in 1903. After the termination of the 2nd Moscow University he worked in a hospital surgical clinic (since 1925), served in the Red Army (since 1939). During the Great Patriotic War - the leading surgeon of the Penza evacuation hospital No. 1649 (since October 1941), the chief surgeon of the evacuation hospitals in the Penza region (from August 1942 to August 1945). In 1949, V.S. Majat worked in the People's Republic of China (PRC) in the surgical department of the government hospital, while lecturing at Peking University. After returning from the PRC, he was elected the head of the Department of Hospital Surgery of the 2nd Moscow Medical Institute (1953), simultaneously (1952-1964) was deputy chief surgeon and then chief surgeon of the 4th Main Directorate of the Ministry of Health of the USSR (until 1974). He developed a new method of phalloplasty, the classification of gunshot joint injuries. He prepared 14 doctors and 47 candidates of medical sciences, published over 250 scientific papers, author of 3 monographs, including on the topic: "Carotid artery surgery" (1966), which was awarded the NN Prize. Burdenko. Honorary member of the Moscow (1973), Georgian (1976), All-Union (1978) scientific surgical societies, a member of the International Society of Surgeons. He was awarded the Order of Lenin, the Red Banner of Labor, the Second World War, several foreign orders and medals.

Vladimir Semyonovich Levit was born in 1883 and after graduation from the gymnasium he studied at the Medical Faculty of the University of Koenigsberg (1901-1906), worked in the Ardatov Zemstvo of the Simbirsk Gubernia. In 1914, Vladimir Semenovich defended his doctoral dissertation, became head of the surgical department of the Simbirsk Province Hospital, and began teaching at a paramedic school. V.S. Levit was elected privat-docent of the faculty surgical clinic of Tomsk University (1919), privat-docent (1922), then professor and head of the department of the faculty surgical clinic, dean of the medical faculty (1922-1926) of Irkutsk University, head of the department of hospital surgery of medical faculty. 2 Moscow University (since 1926), which is headed for 27 years. V.S. Levit for the first time in the USSR successfully resected cardia (1928), surgery for hernia of the esophageal aperture (1929). In 1936 he was awarded the title of Honored Scientist of the RSFSR. During the Great Patriotic War V.S. Levit was appointed chief surgeon of the Moscow Military District, deputy chief surgeon of the Soviet Army (1942), and in 1943 he became a major general of the medical service. Since 1950, V.S. He published 120 scientific works, he was the editor of 3-volume manual, 2-volume textbook on surgery, the surgical section of the Great Medical Encyclopedia, the publication "The Experience of Soviet Medicine in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945." V.S. Levit was the editor of the magazine "Soviet Surgery" (later "Surgery") (1931-1953), a member of the editorial board of the journals "New Surgery", "Russian Clinic", "Central Medical Journal." He was the head and scientific consultant in the preparation of 23 candidate and 10 doctoral dissertations. V.S. Levit was a member of the International Surgical Society, chairman of the Moscow Surgical Society, a member of the Academic Council of the Ministry of Health of the USSR, and district Soviets of Working People's Deputies. V.S. Leviticus was awarded the Order of the Red Banner, the Patriotic War of the 2nd degree, the Red Star, medals. V.S. Leviticus died in 1961 in Moscow.

Article is devoted to the jubilee of V.V. Chirkovsky, who headed the Department of Ophthalmology of the Kazan University from 1922 to 1929, and was a rector of the University from 1923 to 1925. He was also the director of the wWorld’s first Trachoma Research Institute named after E.V. Adamyuk (Kazan). The article outlines his outstanding organizational skills, resulting in creating ophthalmologic departments and scientific schools of ophthalmology in Tomsk, Irkutsk, Perm, Kazan and Leningrad (Saint Peterburg). During his work in Kazan, V.V. Chirkovsky was elected as a rector of the Kazan University, in this position he served until 1925. He led the university during a harsh period: the country experienced economic collapse, university professors led a beggarly life, but he managed to preserve the two most important faculties of the university - medical and physic-mathematical, and to keep the professors of the university. The creation of Trachoma Research Institute allowed not only to strengthen the fight against trachoma in Tatarstan, but also to completely eliminate it in our and neighboring regions (Republic of Mari El, Bashkortostan, Udmurtia, etc.). In 1929 professor V.V. Chirkovsky moved to Leningrad, where he headed the Department of Ophthalmology of the 1st Leningrad Medical Institute and headed the Leningrad Research Institute of Ophthalmology named after Girschman until 1952. During his active life, professor V.V. Chirkovsky authored about 100 scientific papers on various aspects of ophthalmology. His main publications were related to the study of trachoma, the disease that he has defeated.

Alexander Aminev was born in 1904 in the village of Pokrovsky, Artyomovsky District, Sverdlovsk Region. From 1914 to 1919, he studied at the men's gymnasium, after the second grade school. Irbitsk. In 1921, Alexander Mikhailovich entered the medical faculty of the Ural University. In 1926, he became an intern at the Proedeutic Surgery Clinic, and then Assistant of the Department of General Surgery of the Medical Faculty of Perm University. In 1935 he was awarded the academic title of candidate of medical sciences. From 1936-1937 years A.M. Aminev worked as a director of the propedeutic surgical clinic, from 1936-1938. - Secretary of the editorial staff of the Works, from 1937 - assistant professor, from 1937 to October 1938. From 1937 he began to study and develop an endoscopic method - peritoneoscopy, for the first time in the USSR Endoscopic liver biopsy, liver wound tamponade and epiploon, removal of a foreign body from the abdominal cavity and dissection of adhesions. In 1938, A.M. Astrakhan was appointed director and at the same time head of the department of faculty surgery at the Astrakhan Medical Institute. In 1940, he received the degree of Doctor of Medical Sciences and the title of professor. Since the beginning of World War II, Professor A.M. Aminev was appointed part-time free surgery of the hospital department of the Astrakhan regional health department. In September 1942, he was called up to the front by an army surgeon of the 28th Combined Arms, and then the 5th Panzer Army, and went from Stalingrad to Berlin.In 1945, A.M. Aminev moved to Kuibyshev, where he became head of the department of hospital surgery, headed for almost 40 years. In 1948 he wrote the first in the country monograph on peritoneoscopy on laparoscopy. He became the author of 14 monographs and 265 scientific papers on coloproctology. In 1964 he was awarded the honorary title of Honored Scientist of the RSFSR. In 1969 "Lectures on proctology" were published, they were marked with the Prize for them. N.I. Pirogov, Academy of Medical Sciences of the USSR. In the aggregate, A.M. Aminev is the author of 37 monographs and 518 scientific papers. Among his students are 112 candidates and 35 doctors of medical sciences.Alexander Mikhailovich is a member of the Board of Directors of Surgery, a member of the Board of the All-Union and All-Russian Scientific Society, a chairman of the Kuybyshev Regional Scientific Society of Surgery, an honorary member of the international community, and also a co-editor of the journal Gastroenterology, Colon and Rectum Surgery (USA), honorary member 11 scientific surgical societies of the country. He was beaten by a deputy of the regional, city and district Soviets of Workers' Deputies. A.M. Aminev was awarded the Order of Lenin (twice), the October Revolution, the Red Star, World War 1 and 2 degrees, eight medals. Alexander Mikhailovich died on February 11, 1984 and was buried in Kuibyshev, since 1991 - Samara.After the death of the scientist, his name was given. In 2007, in Samara, on Galaktionovskaya Street, where A.M. Aminev, a plaque was opened in his honor.

Abstract. Brief biographical information about Maxim SemenovichSubbotin, the founder of aseptic and antiseptic in Russia, is provided. In 1884, M.S. Subbotin heads the Department of Surgical Pathology at Kharkov University. In addition to scientific and pedagogical activities, he will devote a lot of time to the organizational issues of the clinic. He uses the surgical department of a military hospital as a clinical base for training students at Kharkov University. In addition to the course of surgical pathology with desmurgy, he also conducts a course of surgical surgery, and since 1887, a parallel course of the faculty surgical clinic. However, teaching and scientific work in a small clinic (25 beds) could not satisfy Maxim Semenovich, since by this time he had formed into a major surgeon and scientist, ready for wide surgical and scientific activities. Becoming the head of the Department of Surgical Pathology of the Imperial Medical and Surgical Academy (1890) M.S. Subbotin began its reorganization according to the requirements of asepsis. D.O. Ott was born in 1855 in the family of the vice-governor of the Novgorod province O.F. Ott. In 1874 he graduated from the Novgorod gymnasium and entered the St. Petersburg Medical-Surgical Academy, which he graduated in 1879. In 1881, D.O. Ott passed the exam for a doctor of medicine. In 1884 he defended his doctoral thesis. Having received the title of private assistant professor at the Medical-Surgical Academy, in 1885 Ott began teaching at the Imperial Clinical Institute of the Grand Duchess Elena Pavlovna. At the same time, he supervised the Alexander Nevsky maternity hospital. In the rank of Professor D.O. Ott was approved in 1889. From 1893 he was appointed director of the Imperial Clinical Midwife Institute. In 18991906 - Director of the St. Petersburg Women's Medical Institute. In 1895, D.O. Ott became the life obstetrician of the Imperial Court. In 1899, D.O. Ott introduced the method of ventroscopy into clinical practice, and on April 19, 1901, for the first time, he reported it at a meeting of the Petersburg Obstetric-Gynecological Society. For its implementation of the D.O. Ott developed special tools, used the air for pneumoperitoneum, the high position of Trendelenburg, equipped the operating table with special devices for supporting the patient's legs and shoulders. April 26, 1906 through colpotomic access after removal of the uterus with appendages D.O. Ott performed the world's first transvaginal appendectomy. He also performed ovariotomy, dissection of intra-abdominal adhesions, becoming the first surgeon in the world to perform endoscopic interventions on the abdominal organs, i.e. He was the ancestor of the world endoscopic surgery. D.O. Ott was one of the founders and chairman of the Petersburg Obstetrician-gynecological Society (1912), founder and editor-in-chief of the Journal of Obstetrics and Women's Diseases. They published more than 145 scientific papers, including 5 monographs devoted mainly to issues of operative gynecology. BEFORE. Ott was an honorary member of Russian and foreign (Berlin, Italian, Egyptian and other) scientific medical societies. In 1924, a bronze monument to the professor was installed on the main staircase of the institute, and in 1989 the Research Institute of Obstetrics and Gynecology of the Russian Academy of Medical Sciences was named after him. Dmitry Oskarovich Ott died at the 74th year of his life in 1929 in Leningrad and was buried at the Novodevichy cemetery.

Viktor Ivanovich Struchkov was born 30 July (12 August) 1907 year in Ryazhsk Ryazan region. After graduating from the 2nd Moscow medical Institute V. I. Struchkov worked as a resident surgeon, and then head of the surgical Department in Voskresensk Interdistrict hospital in Moscow region (1931-1941). During the great Patriotic war, he was a leading surgeon (1941), the chief inspector and a specialist of the 21st army, the army surgeon of the 13th army in Bryansk and 1st Ukrainian front (1942-1945). In 1946, V. I. Struchkov with the rank of Colonel of medical service was transferred to reserves and became an assistant of the hospital surgical clinic, then became an associate Professor of operative surgery, since 1951 – Professor, and since 1953 – the head of the Department of General surgery of the 1st Moscow medical Institute. I. M. Sechenov, while working as chief surgeon of the Ministry of health of the USSR (1949-1965). In 1946 he defended his thesis, and in 1949 – his doctoral dissertation. In 1961, V. I. Struchkov was awarded the Lenin prize. In 1965, his monograph on "tumors of the lung" is awarded the prize. S. I. Spasokukotskogo of medical Sciences of the USSR, and Viktor Ivanovich became an academician of the USSR AMS. 1966-1976 Struchkov V. I. – academician-Secretary of the Presidium of the USSR AMS. His textbook "General surgery" was awarded the state prize of the USSR in 1975. In 1977 Victor Ivanovich was awarded the Title of hero of Socialist Labor. Viktor Ivanovich Struchkov died on December 25, 1988. He has created a school of more than 45 doctors and 140 candidates of medical Sciences, he published more than 400 scientific works, including 33 monographs. He was the Deputy Chairman of the all-Union scientific society of surgeons, chief editor of the journal "Thoracic surgery", an honorary member of the Medical society of the name of J. Purkinje (Czechoslovakia), foreign, national and regional societies of surgeons, holder of two orders of Lenin, October Revolution, red banner, Patriotic war 1-St and 2-nd degree, two orders of Labour red banner, Friendship of peoples, the red Star, awarded with numerous medals.

This report highlights some of the major developments in the area of speech anatomy and physiology drawing from the author's own research experience during his years at the University of Iowa and the University of Illinois. He has benefited greatly from mentors including Professors James Curtis, Kenneth Moll, and Hughlett Morris at the University of Iowa and Professor Paul Lauterbur at the University of Illinois. Many colleagues have contributed to the author's work, especially Professors Jerald Moon at the University of Iowa, Bradley Sutton at the University of Illinois, Jamie Perry at East Carolina University, and Youkyung Bae at the Ohio State University. The strength of these researchers and their students bodes well for future advances in knowledge in this important area of speech science.

География это мировоззренческая наука. Сложившаяся за десятилетия структура курса обучения географии в российской средней школе знакома каждому из нас и состоит из четырёх этапов. В университете система обучения будущих учителей географии состоит из тех же самых этапов, однако, это не просто углублённое повторение школьной программы, это совершенно новый, более высокий уровень географического образования. Как на школьном, так и на университетском уровнях изменения происходят в масштабе тем и разделов отдельных этапов, но этапы остаются неизменными. Межэтапный уровень является предельным, его осознание не попадает в область рефлексии педагогов и методистов. Отсутствуют и научные труды по его анализу. В качестве метода исследования выступает диалектика, законы которой срабатывают в виде мировоззренческих формул. В школьном географическом образовании проблема формирования восприятия не проявляется чётко и поэтому не осознаётся. Проблемы начинают проявляться на межэтапном уровне. Мировоззренческая формула дихотомии перестала работать в виде противопоставления отраслевая география районная география, взаимодействие в этой бинарной оппозиции строилось по принципу отраслевой анализ региональный синтез. В разделах районной географии исчезли механизмы (энергопроизводственные циклы) и формы синтеза (природнотерриториальные и территориальнопроизводственные комплексы). Произошла утрата целесообразности изучения районной географии. Новых форм синтеза в постсоветское время на вооружение российской школьной и университетской географией принято не было. В университетском курсе, который был направлен на осознание диалектических знаний школьного курса и развитие их, невозможно провести рефлексию, так как основы географических знаний у абитуриентов бесформенные. Владение мировоззренческими формулами это вопрос отражения географической реальности. В переходе с уровня на уровень возрастает самостоятельность географического мышления и удаление от стереотипов, возрастает эвристический потенциал за счёт сочетания формул, которое даёт вариативность отражения географической реальности. Geography is a worldview science. The structure of the geography course in the Russian secondary school, which has developed over the decades, is familiar to each of us and consists of four stages. At the University, the system of teaching future teachers of geography consists of the same stages, however, it is not just an indepth repetition of the school curriculum, it is a completely new, higher level of geographical education. At both the school and University levels, changes occur in the scale of topics and sections of individual stages, but the stages remain the same. The interstage level is the limit, its awareness does not fall into the field of reflection of teachers and methodologists. There are no scientific papers on its analysis. The method of research is dialectics, the laws of which work in the form of worldview formulas. In school geographic education, the problem of perception formation is not clearly manifested and therefore is not realized. Problems begin to emerge at the interstage level. The worldview formula of dichotomy ceased to work in the form of the opposition sectoral geography regional geography, the interaction in this binary opposition was based on the principle of sectoral analysis regional synthesis. Mechanisms (energy production cycles) and forms of synthesis (naturalterritorial and territorialproduction complexes) have disappeared in the sections of the district geography. There was a loss of expediency of studying of regional geography. New forms of synthesis in the postSoviet period were not adopted by the Russian school and University geography. In the University course, which was aimed at understanding the dialectical knowledge of the school course and their development, it is impossible to reflect, as the basis of geographical knowledge of students formless. The possession of ideological formulas is the question of geographic reality. In the transition from level to level increases the independence of geographical thinking and the distance from stereotypes, heuristic potential increases due to the combination of formulas, which gives variability of reflection of geographical reality.

The article presents the main stages of life and work of the professor L.S. Rosenstrauch (1918–2016). L.S. Rosenstrauch is the author of more than 300 scientific papers including 10 monographies. The important direction of his scientific works was development of new radiological techniques such as parasternal mediastinography, and development and integration of the domestic contrast agents. L.S. Rosenstrauch intensively engaged in teaching. More than 30 doctoral and more than 60 candidate dissertations were defended under his guidance or consultation. Professor was a honorary member of domestic and foreign societies of radiology, editorial Board member of the “Journal of radiology and nuclear medicine” and the international journal “Radiology – diagnostics”, coeditor of radiological section of the BME. Under his guidance a unified program of postgraduate medical education in radiology was developed.
