In the present scenario, information and communication technology plays a very important role. Due to the development of technology, internet has brought out some of the opportunities and challenges which provide the effective way of use the library information resources and services. Users can access the required information online irrespective of visiting the place and collecting the information as like ancient days. To improve some of the problems of information and communication technology resulting in underutilization of academic libraries, effort directed to promoting and creating awareness of library services is very important. Library staff can promote the use of the library through other means such as marketing of library services to its users. The role of academic libraries and information centres is to provide necessary information. The objectives of the study were why libraries should market their information resources and services; ways in which libraries market their information resources and services also impacts of marketing information resources and services in the academic Library. The study target population was 120 which comprised of library staff members. The study sample consisted to twenty members of the target group.

In order to promote utilizing the available resource made in any library information has to be taken to the door step of a clientele a such information and communication technology will serve as a catalyst in doing that. This paper has explored the role of information and communication technology ICT in academia and as well as the strategies used in propagating the available services in an academic library this is because tailor made information it is highly required so as to avoid wasting the precious time of academicians and this can be only achieving with the help of information and communication technology software, therefore, descriptive method was adopted in the methodology of this study.

Abstract: There is no doubt that the integration of ICT in the provision of library services can bring great benefits to the entire community and the nation. ICTs, which continue to be a support tool for the provision of up-to-date and timely information and library services, are also essential for sustainable development .This paper is an attempt to examine the critical role that information and communication technology (ICT). How it plays important role in the management and delivery of library services in sustainable development. Despite the wide range of opportunities offered by the advent of ICT, it has been observed that the application of ICT to library services appears inadequate, probably due to several challenges. Using the simple literature search methodology, the paper sought to review the related literature on ICT resources and ICT-based services in libraries, the benefits of ICT and the role of libraries in sustainable development. The document also identified the challenges of using ICT in libraries. Among other things, it was recommended to improve the capacity and level of adoption of ICT by libraries. In today’s knowledge and technology driven society, most scholarly information is increasingly being produced and distributed in digital formats. Yet, in Sub-Saharan Africa, academic libraries have been very slow at joining this digital movement, and hence stand the risk of losing their relevance, particularly with regard to locally generated intellectual material. To better serve the knowledge and information seeking needs of their patrons, librarians need to reinvent services. The challenges are discussed as well as prescriptions of workable strategies that librarians, information scientists, and other stakeholders can adopt to overcome these barriers. Such strategies mostly involve appropriately leveraging the existing Information and Communication Technology (ICT) tools and resources to make library resources more accessible. Consequently, digitizing indigenous intellectual resources may keep libraries from perishing and respond to user needs and information seeking habits in Sub-Saharan Africa.

Abstract Objective – To assess the use of information and communication technology (ICT) for selective dissemination of information (SDI) and current awareness services (CAS) in university libraries in the South-West zone of Nigeria. Methods – A descriptive research design was adopted. The instrument used for data collection was a structured questionnaire administered to a population consisting of 379 librarians, with 353 usable questionnaires retrieved. Results – Findings revealed that most university libraries in the South-West zone of Nigeria do not use ICT in delivery of SDI and CAS. It is evident in this study that despite the known positive effects of ICT in library services, traditional methods were predominantly used for SDI and CAS to the library users. The study revealed that erratic Internet services, insufficient training, inadequate ICT skills, and low support for ICT were hindrances towards ICT use for SDI and CAS. Conclusions – The integration of ICT features in library services for the delivery of CAS and SDI has been a challenge in university libraries in South-West Nigeria. Only a few libraries and a low percentage of librarians had adopted the use of ICT in the delivery of CAS and SDI, while a larger number of libraries resorted to the use of traditional methods. The level of ICT literacy among the librarians in this study is low, as a higher percentage of librarians did not have adequate ICT skill to use available online resources on the Internet and other ICT tools to deliver SDI and CAS in South-West, Nigeria. This is not unconnected to the fact that the training and technical support received by the librarians is inadequate, and the level of support that academic libraries received from their university managements in South-West Nigeria in terms of funding for ICT development is inadequate, which led to low Internet services.

The proliferation of new forms of information and communication technology (ICT) has inundated the learning patterns of students at all levels and particularly at higher education level. The efficacy of teaching the digital generation of learners without a firm grasp of how they learn is like embarking upon a perpetual journey. Invariably, today’s students have been mesmerized by digital gadgets from a very small age and this experience calls for a technology integrated paradigm. Hence, the current study focuses on the influence of evolving technology in conceptualizing pedagogy and practice in higher education. It explores staff members’ technological know-how and how they are able to influence learning at a University in Fiji. An exploratory research design was selected and a survey consisting of Likert scale items was administered. Subsequently, SPSS Statistical software was used for data analytical and reporting purpose. Findings are discussed in collaboration with a robust meta-analysis of literature and they reveal that apart from resources, staff readiness, confidence and motivation play important function in ICT integrated learning. This paper proposes that staff members should use technology and technological gadgets to enhance digital literacy and numeracy that in turn, would create a digitally vibrant society.

The Impact

Online teaching is a major concern in today's teaching process, and it is necessary to determine the impact of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) on online teaching. Currently, online teaching plays a vital role in guiding educators; students must be updated about the use innovation in the right way. Teachers must teach students about the correct use of technology. The purpose of the research were to study the on line experience of faculty with ICT to overcome the challenges in teaching learning process. The research was quantitative in nature whereas survey methods and quantitative questionnaire were utilized in current research. The random sampling technique was used to target the sample. The target population were the teachers who had experienced online courses and sample size (n=100) teachers. Descriptive analysis were utilized by the researchers to analyze the collected data. The results of the research depicted that there is major role played in online teaching with Information and Communication Technology.  Moreover online teaching, increase the use ICT for online courses, which relieved the teacher. The advantage of online teaching in this way is that students were not bound to place and time. COVID-19 stipulates that all instruction frameworks must be converted to online mode. It is recommended that appropriate training for teachers is mandatory, which will help them to implement ICT.
