The article presents structural diagrams of an automated control system for technological processes and information flows of logging operations. The article includes subject and research methodology. The study in a field of logging operations confirms the fact of increasing rate of using special forest machinery like forest harvesters for conducting timber-logging operations. One of the main advantages of forest harvesters is the automated functions that allow the control system to optimize the cutting of the tree trunk, taking into account the price of the assortment and its optimal parameters. The majority of forest harvesters in service are equipped with a continuous pull-through harvesting head. It is shown that reducing production and resource losses, preserving the natural environment and adequate measures for the reproduction of wood resources becomes possible due to the transfer of management of forestry processes to a qualitatively new level through the use of modern automated control systems for technological processes and information flows (APCS IP). The development of a software decision support system (DSS) was conducted according to the results of the data process analysis. The automated decision support system provides support for operator activities and a model for making a decision on the appointment and execution of timber-logging operations.

Scientific researchers have applied newly developed technologies, such as sensors and actuators, to different fields, including environmental monitoring, traffic management, and precision agriculture. Using agricultural technology to assist crop fertilization is an important research innovation that can not only reduce the workload of farmers, but also reduce resource waste and soil pollution. This paper describes the design and development of a water-fertilizer control system based on the soil conductivity threshold. The system uses a low-cost wireless sensor network as a data collection and transmission tool and transmits the data to the decision support system. The decision support system considers the change in soil electrical conductivity (EC) and moisture content to guide the application of water-fertilizer, and then improves the fertilization accuracy of the water-fertilizer control system. In the experiment, the proposed water-fertilizer control system was tested, and it was concluded that, compared with the existing traditional water-fertilizer integration control system, the amount of fertilizer used by the system was reduced by 10.89% on average, and it could save 0.76–0.87 tons of fertilizer throughout the whole growth period of cotton.

The article considers the General approach and elements of implementation of the simulation model of the decision support system as one of the most effective ways to improve the management system of a mining enterprise. The paper gives the description of the technological process and the main functional blocks of the control system. The author identifies the key links and requirements for the implementation of the simulation model of production process and enterprise management. The subsystems of the model allow us to consider the dynamics of the production enterprise in all the variety of its activities, for different variants of the technology and organization of production of the existing control system, the planned system and promising management solutions. In addition, the article presents the structure and description of the implemented simulation model of the main production process of the experimental coal mine. The paper indicates the role of the user-manager in the decision-making process based on the results of modeling. The author gives a control example of the simulation results.

The problem of ensuring the information security of an automated process control system (APCS) is considered. An overview of the main regulatory documents on ensuring the safety of automated process control systems is given. For the operative solution of the tasks of ensuring information security of the automated control system of technological processes it is proposed to use an intelligent decision support system (DSS). An example of the construction and implementation of decision rules in the composition of the DSS based on the use of neurofuzzy models is considered.

The Dynamic and Integrated Environmental Risk Control System (DIERCS) for residential projects means to establish lifecycle dynamic environmental risk control system at first, and then make use of Decision Support System (DSS) to achieve lifecycle dynamic environmental risk control system integration for residential projects. The realization processes both the Dynamic Risk Control System and the Dynamic and Integrated Environmental Risk Control System (DIERCS) for Residential Projects are summarized, which would be beneficial to perfect the theory of environmental risk control system for residential projects.
